Mildred Trego
Mildred Carr Trego, age 74, of 3339 E. Hatch Road, Avon, Illinois, passed away at 3:53 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 1999, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
Born May 23, 1924, in Kirksville, Missouri, to Carl and Goldie Eva Fitch Martin, she married E. R. Carr on August 7, 1942, in Bushnell. He died June 29, 1972. She married Dale Trego on April 12, 1974, in Avon. He survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Linda) Raby of Bushnell, Mrs. John (Mary) Nelson of Canton and Mrs. William (Cynthia) Zemitis of Fairfax Station, Virginia; one stepson, Wilford Trego of Phoenix; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Bruce (Norma) Barton of Charlotte, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren;and six great-grandchildren.
One brother preceded her in death.
She was a 4-H leader for many years and a member of Avon Federated Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home, Bushnell with Rev. Jon Prain officiating.
Burial was in the Bushnell Cemetery. Memorials may be made to her church.

Arthur W. Bultemeier
Arthur W. Bultemeier, 84, Roseville, Passed away at 4:38 a.m., Thursday, February 25, 1999, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
Born October 2, 1914, in Florence, MO, to August and Lillie May Nave Bultemeier, he married Ruth F. Cottom on September 3, 1938 in Burlington, IA. She survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Jerry Bultemeier and Gary Bultemeier, both of Avon, Larry Bultemeier of Roseville, and Bill Bultemeier of Princeville; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one sister Eula White of Plano, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and four brothers.
He was born at Florence, MO, where he lived and was educated. He moved to Warren County, IL, in 1935 where he has lived every since. He farmed near Monmouth, Roseville, and Greenbush.
He was a member of the Roseville Christian Church.
Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 28, at the Corman Memorial Home in Roseville with the Revs. James Oliver and Bob Brunk officiating. Burial was in the Roseville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Roseville Christian Church and Avon Nursing Home.

Harvey J. Doll
Harvey J. Doll, 74, of rural Bushnell passed away at 12:27 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb. Born June 10, 1924, in Bushnell to Harvey and Helen Krauser Doll, he married Virginia Rector on June 12, 1949, in Cuba, Ill. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Phyllis Hess of Bushnell and Marilyn Simola of Speculator, NY; two sons, Phillip of Center Line, MI, and Robert of Bremerton, WA; one sister, Luan Butler of Monmouth; and five grandchildren. He was the first Future Farmers of America member from Bushnell to receive a state farmer’s degree. He was a member of Bushnell-Prairie City Future Farmers of America Alumni Association and a former member of McDonough County Farm Bureau. He graduated from the University of Illinois and was a life member of the U of I Alumni Association. He was a member of Bushnell-Prairie City School Board for 12 years. He owned a patent on a hitching device. He was a member of Bushnell United Methodist Church and the Odd Fellows Lodge. Services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home with the Rev. Norman Waligora officiating. An Odd Fellows service was held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Burial was in Bushnell Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bushnell-Prairie City School Foundation.

Guyeta B. Serven
Guyeta B. Serven, 81, of 824 N. Washington St., Bushnell, passed away at 10:08 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 1999, at Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb. Born September 6, 1917, in Marietta to Henry and Lena McCance Yocum, she married Curtis Serven on September 19, 1942, inn Brownwood, Texas. He passed away May 3, 1986. Three brothers also preceded her in death. Surviving are one son, Leon of Bushnell; two daughters, Carolyn Simmons of Avon and Mrs. Kelly (Janet) Murphy of Bushnell; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She graduated from Gem City Business College in Quincy. She and her husband owned Timberview Lakes near Bushnell for 27 years. She was a member of McDonough District Hospital Auxiliary in Macomb, the Suits-Us Club and Bushnell Presbyterian Church. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 4, at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home. Burial was in Bushnell Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church organ fund or McDonough District Hospital Auxiliary.

Margaret J. Becker
Funeral services for Margaret J. Becker, 77, Kirkwood, were held Monday, March 8, at 10 a.m. at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, with Rev. Thomas Heather officiating. Interment was in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Mrs. Becker passed away Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at 9:29 p.m. in OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. A daughter of George K. and Florence E. Hackamack Powell, she was born January 3, 1922 in Galesburg. She married John R. Becker, March 17, 1945, in Worchester, Mass., who passed away December 7, 1995. Her parents and one brother also preceded her in death. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Barbara) Hand of Kansas City, Mo., two brothers, Edward Powell and George Powell Jr., both of Roseville; and three sisters, Dorothy Powell of Roseville, Mrs. Arthur (Lucille) Flack of Orion and Mrs. Virgil (Louise) Johnson of Geneseo. Mrs. Becker was a beautician, operating the Margaret Becker Beauty Shop out of her home for 45 years, retiring in 1993. She was a former member of the Monmouth First Christian Church.

Helen Barrie Dunlap
Helen Barrie Dunlap, age 76, of R.Rt. Abingdon, Illinois, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 1999 at her home. She was born July 19, 1922 in Arbroath, Scotland, the daughter of David H. and Helen Barrie Cargill Swankie. She married Lyle W. Dunlap on October 20,1944 in London, England. He survives. Other survivors include two daughters Barrie Schaffer, Abingdon, Illinois and Heather Rice, Los Angeles, California; two brothers, David Swankie, Oakville, Ontario and Jim Swankie, South QueensFerry, Scotland; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister. She was a homemaker and had lived near Abingdon since 1971. Prior to that she had lived in Rome, Italy; Oslo, Norway; Ewa Beach, Hawaii; Newport, Rhode Island and twice in London, England. She served in the British Navy for five years. She was a member of Lake Bracken Country Club. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 8, 1999 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon, with Mrs. Eleanor Landon officiating. Burial was in the Abingdon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the OSF Hospice.

Eugene E. Palmer
Eugene E. Palmer, age 88, of 705 North Monroe Street, Abingdon, passed away at 4:20 p.m.Thursday, March 4, 1999 at the Care Center of Abingdon. He was born July 19, 1910 in rural Abingdon, Illinois, the son of Daniel Hurley and J. Kate Gerall Palmer. He first married Hazel E.Odiorne on June 30,1937 in Donaldson, Iowa. She preceded him in death on October 22, 1964. He married Maxine Richey Bredwell in Abingdon on February 14, 1969. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Floyd Palmer and Hollis Palmer, both of Abingdon, a step-son, Gale Bredwell, Bell Flower, California; one step-daughter Marlene Harden of Pasorobels, California; one sister, Edith Meyer, Quincy, Illinois, six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters. He worked for the Abingdon Pottery for 27 years, retiring in 1971. He also worked for Joe Mangieri Construction as a finish carpenter for many years. He lived in the Abingdon area all of his life. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 1999 at the Abingdon Cemetery with Reverend Jon Prain officiating. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Mrs. Edith M. Cravens
Mrs. Edith M. Cravens, age 90, of RR 1 St. Augustine, Illinois, passed away at 1:27 a.m. Friday, March 12,1999 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. She was born July 29, 1908 at Paoli, Indiana, the daughter of Harley and Belle Moon Hill. She married Harold J. Cravens at Aledo on June 12, 1926. He preceded her in death on January 13,1995. Survivors include one son, James H. Cravens, Orion, Illinois; one daughter, Mrs. Rev. Herbert (Helen) Squire, Galesburg, Illinois; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister. She graduated from Little York High School, Little York, Illinois. She was a homemaker and was of the Methodist faith. Funeral services were held at 1:30 Monday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Tim Squires officiating. Burial was in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, St. Augustine, Illinois.

Paul A. Wilson
Paul A. Wilson, 95, of Machesney Park, passed away at 5:06 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 1999 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. He was born September 18, 1903, in St. Paul, Kansas, the son of Jay M. and Ella M. Downs Wilson. He married Lela Dorothy on May 5, 1924, in Quincy. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Dorothy Biedenbender, in Ohio; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one cousin, Mabel Andrews, Galesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Robert Wilson and Harlan Wilson, and by one sister and two brothers. He farmed for many years in central Illinois. He was a member of Harlem United Methodist Church and Loves Park Masonic Lodge 1145. Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m. Monday in Harlem United Methodist Church with Rev. Darrell English officiating. Delehanty Funeral Home, Loves Park was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Harlem United Methodist Church.
