Wilma Martin

Mrs. Wilma M. Martin , 89, of Mode, died at 3:45 p.m. Thursday (May 31, 2001) in the Olivewood Health Care Center in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday June 3, in the Lockart and Sons Funeral Home in Cowden. The Rev. David McHenry will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Sunday. Burial will be in Gallagher Chapel Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Olivewood Health Care Center.
Mrs. Martin was born Mar. 22, 1912 in Arkansas, the daughter of John William and Nettie Dilcum Smith. She married Cecil V. Martin in 1935. He died in 1942. She then married Paul E. Martin on May 10, 1946 in Shelby Co. He died Mar. 18, 1999.
Surviving are a son, Frank Douglas Martin of Mode; daughter, Linda Kay Cook of Shelbyville; eleven grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren; and one niece, Ola Holley of Shelbyville.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; son, Jack Grant Martin; daughter, Lois Valjean Dilley; two grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister.

Helen Reynolds
Shelbyville
Helen Ann Martz (Gould) Reynolds, 66, of Shelbyville, died at 11:20 p.m. Friday (June 1, 2001) at her residence.
Private graveside services at Glenwood Cemetery in Shelbyville will be conducted by the Rev. Greg Breeden. Howe & Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville is in charge of arrangements. A time of fellowship and food will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Fellowship Hall of the First Church of the Nazarene, Shelbyville for family and friends to come and participate.
Mrs. Reynolds was born on Oct. 25,1934 in Shelbyville, the daughter of Franklin Charles and Goldie Mae Giberson Martz. She married Stan Reynolds on Aug. 8, 1992.
Survivors include husband; sons, James M. Gould Jr. of Pana and Joseph M. Gould of Assumption; daughters, Janet M. Patrick of Longmont, Co. and Julie M. Tucker of Findlay; step-son, Barry W. Reynolds of Fairfield, Ohio; step-daughters, Tracy J. Gentry of Charleston and Melanie S. Watson of Shelbyville; brothers, Ray Martz of Shelbyville, Howard Martz of Palermo, Cal. and Herb Lloyd of Greenville; sister, Bertha M. Shields of Mattoon; 10 grandchildren, Kelly Gould and Carrie Welburn both of Pana, Emily Gould of Decatur, Amanda Bradshaw and Joshua Gould both of Assumption, Joseph Gould Jr. of Knob Noster, MO., Jill Akita of Thornton, CO., Lindy Patrick of Longmont, CO., James Ryan Jr. of Nokomis and Jennifer, Ryan of Mattoon; 8 step grandchildren, Jason Tucker of Mattoon, Jessica Tucker, Jeffrey Watson, Marissa Watson all of Shelbyville, Brittni and Heather Gentry of Charleston, Danielle and Alexis Reynolds both of Fairfield; Ohio; and 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends.
Mrs. Reynolds was preceded in death by parents, two infant children, one sister and several half brothers.
Her employment was in Pana and Shelbyville, and most recently as a waitress and bartender. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge Chapter #1325 and VFW #4829 Ladies Auxiliary, both of Shelbyville.

George Shalbot
Decatur
George F Shalbot, 70, of Decatur, died Tuesday (June 5, 2001) in the Richard C. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Lockart & Sons Funeral Home, Shelbyville with the Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Fund.
He was born Feb. 5, 1931 in Nokomis the son of George and Mary Bujok Shalbot.
Surviving are brother-in-law, Walter Orin of Shelbyville; and nine nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Frances Orin, Lucille Burke, Ann Katorac, and Amelia West.
He was formerly employed as an electrical engineer for Motorola in Chicago. He served in the US Coast Guard.

Isabelle J. Thacker
Mattoon
Mattoon IL- Isabelle J (Clucas) Thacker, age 66 of Mattoon, died 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at 2:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David Hewitt officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church. Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home in Mattoon is in charge of arrangements.
Isabelle was born September 11, 1934 in Ramsey to Richard and Geneva (McDaniel) Clucas. She married Fred P. Thacker on March 25, 1950 He preceded her in death in 1996.
Mrs. Thacker is survived by one son, Fred Thacker, Jr. of Mattoon, and 3 daughters Vicki Williams and husband Merle of Joliet, Lana Cline and husband Merl of Mattoon, and Debbie Louthan and husband Mark of Mattoon. One brother, John Clucas of Pana, also survives her.
Three sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Thacker leaves her grandchildren Renee Dimmick, Paul Cline, Jenny Cole, Scott
Williams, John Cline, Carrie Schelling,Trisha Focht, Freddy Thacker, Angie Cline, and Danielle Thacker. She also leaves nine great-grandchildren; Ryan Cline, Dominic Nall, Marky Cole, Samuel Dimmick, Debbie Focht, Whitley Cline, Tyler Cole, Alexander Dimmick, and Tyler Ashcraft.
Isabelle J. Thacker was retired from Federal Kemper Insurance Company in Decatur where she was formerly employed as an Underwriter. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Women of the Moose, and Eagles Lodge of Mattoon.

Lola Massey
formerly of Findlay
Lola E. Massey, 95 of Decatur, formerly of Findlay, died at 3:50 PM Thursday (June 7, 2001) in St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday June 9, 2001 in the Lockart and Sons Funeral Home in Findlay. The Rev. Sonya Long will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 AM Saturday until service time. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery at Findlay. Memorials can be made to Fairhaven Christian Home, Decatur.
Mrs. Massey was born May 16,1903, in Campbell, AK., the daughter of James F. (Tint) and Eller Bradshaw Fendley. She married Troy 0. Massey July 4, 1924 in Campbell AK. He passed away in 1983.
Surviving are daughters, Willodean Everman and husband Neal and Marlene Coffman and husband Bobb, both of Decatur; one sister, Una Massey of Leslie, AK; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy; her son, Troy Jr.; her parents; four sister's; and four brothers.
She was a member of the Findlay Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Jack Canavan
Shelbyville
Jack T. Canavan, 81, of Shelbyville, died at 6:05 a.m. Friday (June 8, 2001) in St. John's Hospital, Springfield.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville.

Francis Endris
Pana
Francis Endris, 80, Pana, died 10:52 PM Wednesday (June 6, 2001) at Pana Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be, Monday, June 11 at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Pana with the Rev. Don J. Roberts officiating. Visitation will be 2-5 PM, Sunday, June 10 at Kennedy & Sons with a 5 PM Rosary. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart School or Carnegie-Schuyler Library. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pana
Mr. Francis Endris was born Thursday, June 24 1920, in Pana the child of George and Ethel (Dee Fox) Endris. He married Friday, July 14, 1944, to Dorcas Ann Hayes in St. Patrick's Catholic Church Pana, by Monsignor Thomas J. O'Neil. Mrs. Endris died Thursday, January 28, 1999.
He is survived by daughter, Mrs. Richard (Francine) Nielsen of Clyde, N.C., Mrs. Robert (Gaynelle) Stanberry of Decatur; son, Mr. Fredric Endris of Minneapolis, Minn.; brother, Robert Endris of Alvin, TX,; grandchildren, Tara Hancock, Ruth Ann Nielsen, Jason Stanberry, Jordan Stanberry; great-grandson, Shawn Paul Hancock
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 7 Brothers, Cecil, Raymond, Vincent Marcellus "Puddy", George, William, and Melvin Endris.
He served in the United States Marine Corps during WW II he was a technical sergeant and received several combat ribbons including combat action ribbon, presidential unit citation for service. After his discharge in 1945 he worked at Hayes Hatchery and Feed in Pana. He was later employed over 20 years as an apprentice Pharmacist with Metzger Drug Store Pana, retiring in 1995. Fran was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, honorary life member of Knights of Columbus Council 996-Pana, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4431 Pana, American Legion Oconee Post 0317, Amvets. Pana Post 44.

Jerry Voyles
formerly of Shelbyville
Jerry Wayne Voyles, 61, Springfield, died 3 p.m. Wednesday (June 6, 2001) in Memorial Medical Center.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Monday June 11 at Staab Funeral Home with the Rick Bilyeu officiating. Visitation will be 12-1 p.m. Monday, June 11 at Staab funeral Home. Burial will be at Camp Butler national Cemetery where Interveterans will conduct military services.
He was born Oct. 9, 1939 in Decatur, the son of Auvine Wilber and Edna Helen Kush Voyles.
Surviving are daughters, Janice Kay (Michael) Vansacik of Springfield and Sherri (John) Criner of Effingham; stepdaughter, Connie (Jerry) Reedy of Springfield; sons, Rick Voyles of Fancher and Steve Voyles of Pana; stepsons, Don, Mike and Chad Miller all of Springfield; four grandchildren; three step grandsons; sisters Doris Olsen of Amarillo, TX; friend Florence Voyles of Springfield; one aunt; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and step-father, Paul Anderson of Decatur.
He was preceded in death parents and one brother, Larry Voyles.
He was a resident of Springfield for the past 16 years, formerly of Decatur and Shelbyville. He was a heating and air-conditioning repairman and worked at Norfolk and Western Railroad in Decatur for 15 years.

Dino Auburn
Shelbyville
Dino S. Auburn, 51, of Shelbyville, died at 1 a.m. Sunday (June 10, 2001) in his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 1 a.m. Thursday in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Lockart & Sons Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Memorials may be made to the Shelbyville Boys Baseball.
He was born April 6, 1950 in Decatur, the son of Ansel F. and Mary Humphrey Auburn.
Surviving are daughter, Wendi Brush of Jacob, IL; mother, Mary Auburn Stevenson and her husband Jim of Shelbyville; brothers, Richard Auburn and wife Brenda of Chattanooga, TN. and Gary Auburn and wife Penny of Shelbyville; two grandchildren; three nieces; four nephews and seven cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He was a member of the Shelbyville Moose Lodge and the Sons of the American Legion, Shelbyville. He graduated from Shelbyville High School. He was retired from Diamond Star in Bloomington. He was formerly employed at Shelby Tool & Die and Just Rite in Mattoon.
