Mildred Titus

TOLEDO - Mildred M. Titus, 89, of Toledo, died at 2:15 p.m. Monday (April 23, 2001) at the Cumberland Nursing Center in Greenup.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at the Barkley Funeral Home in Toledo, with the Rev.
Bill Boaz officiating. Burial will be in Tippett Cemetery in rural Toledo. Visitation will be 6
to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born Dec. 28, 1911, in Toledo, the daughter of Stanley and Minnie Whicker
Barger. She married Berlin Ryan in 1931; he died in 1967. She married Otis Titus in 1969;
he died in 1973.

Surviving are three sons, Jerry Ryan of Palestine, Lee Ryan of Casey and Kent Ryan of
Toledo; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, one sister, one grandchild and one
great-grandchild.

Mrs. Titus was a homemaker. She was a member of the Toledo First Baptist Church, the
Cumberland Life Center and the Cumberland County Home Extension.

Memorials may be made to the Cumberland County Life Center or Toledo First Baptist Church.

Moline Wooten

HINDSBORO - Moline Wooten, 94, of Hindsboro, died at 10 a.m. Tuesday (April 24,
2001) at Paris Healthcare Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Taber Funeral Home, Oakland, with Todd
Letherman officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon
Thursday until service time at the funeral home.

She was born Oct. 5, 1906, in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn., the daughter of Homer and
Harriet Armour Parkhurst. She married Porter Wooten in 1929; he died in 1958.

Surviving are one son, Larry Wooten of Paris; three grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter and one sister.

Mrs. Wooten was a member of the Hindsboro Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to the Hindsboro Christian Church in care of the Taber Funeral
Home in Oakland.

GLADYS BRANSON

Gladys Branson, age 95, of Mattoon, passed away at 10:27
a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at the Odd
Fellow-Rebekah Home in Mattoon.

Funeral services celebrating her life will begin at 1:30
p.m. Thursday at the Schilling Funeral Home with the
Reverend Barbara Short officiating. Burial will follow in
Dodge Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon
until service time on Thursday afternoon at the funeral
home.

Gladys was born May 24, 1905, in Coles County, a
daughter of Elmer and Ada Greeson Cross. She married
Vernon Branson on January 19, 1924, in Cook County.
He passed away May 4, 1971. She was also preceded in
death by one son, Ralph Bud Branson; one daughter,
Dalene Irwin; three brothers, Minor Cross, Lester Cross
and John Cross; and four sisters, Wanda Hamby, Ellen
Whitley, Alice Cutright, and Ethel Wright.

Survivors include three sons, Bob Branson and wife
Donna of Denver, Colorado, Jim Branson and wife Sara
and Keith Branson and wife Lila, all of Mattoon; one
daughter, Janet Rich and husband Ray of Mattoon; one
brother, Tom Cross of Charleston; thirteen grandchildren,
and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Branson was a homemaker and a member of the
Marshall Avenue Christian Church.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Marshall Avenue
Christian Church.

Robert Faust Sr.

TAMPA, Fla. - Robert D. Faust Sr., 75, of Tampa, Fla.,
formerly of Charleston, died at 12:48 p.m. Monday (May
7, 2001) at University Community Hospital in Tampa.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Joines Funeral
Home, Newman, with the Rev. Tom Swantner officiating.
Burial will be in the Newman Cemetery. Visitation will be
6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

He was born Feb. 18, 1926, in Charleston, the son of
Edward and Minnie Berry Faust. He married Marilyn
Stuebe in 1946; she survives.

Also surviving are one son, Robert D. Faust Jr. of Villa
Grove; one daughter, Kay St. Clair of Wesley Chapel,
Fla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Mr. Faust Sr. was a retired painter, and worked at Colwell
Printing Co. in Champaign and Joe B. Clay Printing Co.
in Tampa, Fla. He was a Navy veteran of World War II
and the Korean conflict, and was a member of the
Newman American Legion, Newman Masonic Lodge and
Danville Consistory.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Eston Stewart

LAKE CITY, Fla. - Eston Marshall Stewart, 67, of Lake
City, Fla., formerly of Miami, died at 6:20 a.m. Tuesday
(May 8, 2001) at Lake City V.A. Hospital in Lake City,
Fla.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Mt. Zion Baptist
Church in Pekin, Ind., with the Rev. Randy Albertson
officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the
funeral at the church. Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola is
in charge of the arrangements.

He was born Jan. 26, 1934, in Washington County, Ind.,
the son of Winnie Homer and Pearl Rozena (Hedrick)
Stewart.

Surviving are three sons, Michael Stewart of LeRoy,
David Stewart of San Francisco and David Prince of
Arkansas; two daughters, Cindy Murphy of Arcola and
Karen Burton of Atwood; one brother, Ralph Stewart of
Pekin, Ind.; four sisters, Faye Terrell of Jeffersonville,
Ind., Mable Smith and Rozena Terrell, both of Tuscon,
Ariz., and Cletis Brown of Salem, Ind.; seven
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and special friend
Millie Reed of Lake City, Fla.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Mr. Stewart was in the Army for three years and then
re-enlisted in the Air Force, where he was an air craft
mechanic instructor for 20 years. After retiring, he
worked as a mechanic for a landscaping firm in Miami.
He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in
Pekin, Ind.

Maude Whitson

SULLIVAN - Maude Tracy Whitson, 73, of rural Sullivan,
died at 2:56 p.m. Monday (May 7, 2001) at St. Mary's
Hospital in Decatur.

Arrangements are incomplete at the Markwell Funeral
Home in Casey.

Mary Boyd

HAVANA - Mary Lou Boyd, 70, of Havana, died at 9:30
a.m. Sunday (May 6, 2001) at Doctor's Hospital in
Springfield.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First
Assembly of God in Havana with the Rev. Paul Martin
officiating. Burial will be 4 p.m. in Mound Cemetery,
Cowden. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Hurley
Funeral Home in Havana and one hour prior to the service
Wednesday at the church.

She was born Jan. 17, 1931, in Holiday, the daughter of
Roy Hudson and Leora Allsop. She married Roger Boyd
in 1956; he survives.

Also surviving are one son, Steve Boyd of Springfield;
two daughters, Susan Burkholder of Springfield and
Becky Snively of Neoga; one sister, Rowena Hendrickson
of Springfield; and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Mrs. Boyd was a school teacher in New Holland and a
substitute teacher for more than 40 years in various
schools. She was a member of the First Assembly of God
Church in Havana.

Memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God
Handicap Ramp Fund.

Suenell Dennis

ARCOLA - Suenell Dennis, 80, of Arcola, died at 6:42
p.m. Sunday (May 6, 2001) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health
Center.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Edwards
Funeral Home in Arcola with the Rev. Ivan Jess
officiating. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born Oct. 26, 1920, in Lamar, Ark., the daughter
of John Henry and Nellie Jane Dunn Russell. She married
William J. Dennis; he died in 1979.

Surviving are four daughters, Phyllis Kauffman and Linda
McHenry, both of Arthur, Marsha Loughary of Lorain,
Ohio, and Paulette Hayes of Taylorville; three brothers,
Boyd Russell of San Antonio, Bob Russell of Sun City,
Ariz., and Elmer Russell of Springfield, Mo.; two sisters,
Jean Jones of Double Springs, Ala., and Pauline Compton
of Arthur; seven grandchildren; and 12
great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, eight
brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Dennis provided health care to many people in the
Arcola area. She was a member of the First Baptist
Church in Arcola.

Mary Greanias

DECATUR - Mary Anne Greanias, 77, of Decatur,
formerly of Mattoon, died Sunday (May 6, 2001) at her
residence.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Greek
Orthodox Church of the Annunciation. Burial will be in
Fairlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 9p.m.
Wednesday at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home with
a 7p.m. Trisaghion.

She was born April 11, 1924, in Mattoon, the daughter of
Clifford and Beryl Scott Hampson. She married Nicholas
G. Greanias in 1945; he died in 1986.

Surviving are three sons, Chris Greanias of North
Chicago, George Greanias of Grosse Pointe, Mich., and
Anthony Greanias of Saginaw, Mich.; one daughter,
Georganna Greanias of Ottawa; two brothers, Jack
Hampson of Warren, Pa., and Gene Hampson of Gays;
seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son.

Mrs. Greanias worked as a secretary for Sam Chihade and
Associates Insurance Agency and was formerly employed
by the Salvation Army for many years. She and her
husband owned and operated the Lincoln Square Cafe
and the Lincoln Cafe for many years. She was a member
of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, St.
Catherine's Philoptochos Society and the Delta Zeta
sorority at Millikin University.

Memorials may be made to the Greek Orthodox Church
of the Annunciation or the American Cancer Society.

Mary Hopper

WEST UNION - Mary Frances Hopper, 70, of rural West
Union, died at 2:10 a.m. Sunday (May 6, 2001) at Union
Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Prust-Hosch
Funeral Home in West Union with Pastor Don Russell
officiating. Burial will be in York Cemetery, southeast of
West Union. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Wednesday
and after 7 a.m. Thursday until service time at the funeral
home.

She was born Aug. 18, 1930, in Paris, the daughter of
John S. and Laura Prust Crow. She married George A.
Hopper in 1948; he died in 2000.

Surviving are two sons, John and Brock Hopper, both of
rural West Union; three daughters, Judy Crumrin of rural
West Union, Pam Ogle of West York and Mary Ann
Hastings of Marshall; seven grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hopper was a homemaker.

Memorials may be made to York Cemetery to assist with
upkeep.
