Gurley, Mildred L.

Services for Mildred L. Gurley, mother of James D. Gurley of Hillsboro, were held at 10:30 a.m. this morning in Green Pond Church near White Hall. Burial was in Green Pond Cemetery. Mrs. Gurley died Saturday, July 3, 1999, in Jersey Rehabilitation and Care Center, Jerseyville. She was 89 years old on November 10. She was born in Pearl, a daughter of Charles and Blanche Bristol Cloninger. She married Wallace L. Gurley in 1930 in Collinsville; he died in 1984. Surviving are another son, David Lee Gurley of Springfield; daughter, Maxine Lelis of Florida; sister, Katherine Harrington of Jerseyville; brother, Daniel Cloninger of Isphenning, Mich.; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Preceding her in death was a daughter, Mary Ellen Gurley.

Gusewelle, Herman W.

Services for Herman W. Gusewelle, of Worden, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Trinity Lutheran Church there with the Rev. Jeffrey Gross officiating. Burial will be in Worden Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Williamson Funeral Home, Worden. The family suggests memorials be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Worden Fire Department. Mr. Gusewelle died at 6:22 a.m. Monday, December 13, 1999, in Staunton Memorial Hospital. He was 89 years old on March 9. He was a farmer and also worked for Olin Corporation in East Alton for 22 years. He retired in 1975. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Worden and past elder and treasurer of the church. He was also a member of the Madison County Farm Bureau and past member of the Worden Lions Club. He was born in rural Edwardsville, a son of Herman F. and Maria Kanning Gusewelle. He married Sylvia Sievers on June 29, 1941, in the Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton. She survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Ruth Hamby of Edwardsville; sons, Robert Gusewelle of Worden, Lawrence Gusewelle and wife Rae Fran of Edwardsville, Paul Gusewelle and wife Evelyn of Benld; a sister, Bertha Martin of Edwardsville; six grandchildren and one great grandson. Preceding him in death were a daughter in infancy and a granddaughter in infancy.

Guyot, Gladys Louise

Services for Gladys Louise Guyot, of Nokomis, were held this morning in St. Louis Catholic Church there. The Rev. Father Pat Jakel officiated. Burial was in Nokomis Cemetery. Mrs. Guyot died at 1:20 a.m. Sunday, May 24, 1998, in Hillsboro Hospital. She was 77 years old on October 29. she was born in Nokomis, a daughter of John and Genevieve Pieper Schrempp. She married Fernand A. Guyot on November 2, 1976, in Las Vegas, Nev. He survives. Surviving also are daughters, Barbara A. Bourke of Witt, Cindy L. McFadden of Staunton; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A sister, LaVonne Lehnen, preceded her in death.

Haase, Mildred B.

Services for Mildred B. Haase, of Staunton, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Williamson Funeral Home there with the Rev. Richard Feyen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Staunton Ambulance Service or to st. Paul's United Church of Christ. Mrs. Haase died at 4:14 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 1999, in St. Louis. She was 78 years old last October 17. She and husband owned operated the bowling alley and several taverns in Staunton for many years. She worked as a bookkeeper. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Staunton and the Concordia Singing Society. She was born in Litchfield, a daughter of Otto and Bertha Schmidt Grosenheider. She married Martin Haase on June 29, 1941, in Staunton. He died July 2, 1983. Surviving are daughters, Pat Johnson and husband Mike of Staunton, Pam Best and husband Brian of Chatham; grandchildren, Cory, Daryl and Abbie and four step grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a sister, Helen Hayes and a brother, Ray Grosenheider.

Hadley, Darlene

Services for Darlene Hadley, of Nokomis, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Grace Baptist Church, Nokomis. Burial will be in Ohlman Cemetery. Sutton Funeral Home, Nokomis, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Hadley died Sunday, July 4, 1999, in St. Vincent Memorial Hosp[ital, Taylorville. She was 78 years old on February 20. She was born in Oconee, a daughter of Gladys Hawkins. Her first husband, Al Compton, preceded her in death. Her second husband, Herbert H. Hadley, survives. Surviving also are a son, Gary Compton of Nokomis; sister, Lulene Anderson of Rockwell City, Iowa; and two grandsons.

Hadley, David T.

Services for David T. "Spud" Hadley, of Witt, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home there with the Rev. James Howie officiating. Burial will be in Witt Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mr. Hadley died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 1998, in his home. He was 84 years old on September 10, and a veteran of World War II. He was a farmer, and a member of the Presbyterian Church. born in Witt, he was a son of Thomas and Ada Smith Hadley. Surviving is a sister, Mary Durston of Irving. Preceding him in death were brothers, Harry, William and Woodrow in infancy.

Haferkamp, Leona C.

Services for Leona C. Haferkamp, formerly of Staunton, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Paul's United Church of Christ there with the Rev. Richard Feyen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. No visitation will be held. The family suggests memorials be directed to St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Staunton. Williamson Funeral Home, Staunton, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Haferkamp died at 9:45 p.m. Monday, October 18, 1999, in Linden Grove Health Care Center, New Berlin, Wis. She was 94 years old on January 23. She was born in Staunton, a daughter of Henry and Bertha Looser Streeb. She married Henry A. Haferkamp in 1936; he died May 20, 1996. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Radell of Brookfield, Wis.; son, Henry "Hank" Haferkamp of Sherman; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a brother and two sisters.

Haferkamp, Wilma M.

Services for Wilma M. Haferkamp, of Mt. Olive, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Becker and Son Funeral Home there with the Rev. Terry Breum officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive City Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The family suggests memorials be directed to Mt. Olive Cemetery. Miss Haferkamp died at 5:15 a.m. Monday, February 1, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 73 years old on June 17. She did housecleaning for the Litchfield HealthCare Center until she retired and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was born in Mt. Olive, a daughter of John Albert and Mathilda L. Schwing Haferkamp, and attended Mt. Olive schools. Never married, she was the last of her family.

Hagan, Johanna Margaret

Johanna Margaret Hagan, sister of Bernadine Revell of Raymond, died at 4:07 p.m. Friday, January 1, 1999, in her home in Springfield. She was 84 years old on March 3. She was born in Springfield, a daughter of Carl J. and Catherine J. Buchinger Pamer Sr. Her first husband, Frank C. Tucker, whom she married in 1935, died May 4, 1961. Later, on Nov. 7, 1970, she married Malcom H. Hagan. He died May 7, 1997. Surviving are sons, Frank C. Tucker, Jr., and James E. Tucker, both of Springfield; another sister, Norma Brunner of Springfield; brothers, Ernest F. Pamer and Carl J. Pamer Jr., both of Springfield; eight grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Private family visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today in Staab Funeral Home, Springfield. Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Church, Springfield. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Hagerdorn, Lee G.

Services for Lee G. Hagerdorn, formerly of Litchfield, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in DavisonİFulton Chapel in Bartonville. Inurnment will follow at a later date in Edgewood Cemetery, Litchfield. Friends may call on Saturday in the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Mr. Hagerdorn, of Limestone Township, died at 4:56 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 1998, in Methodist Medical Center, Peoria. He was 76 years old on June 10, and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a truck driver and dispatcher before he retired in 1983. He worked for Buske Lines here and previously for M.C. Slater Inc. He was a member and past president of the Lions Club in Bartonville, member and past president of the Transportation Club of Peoria, member of the Pekin Boat Club, TriİCounty Alliances for the Mentally Ill, Teamsters Local 627 of Peoria, American Legion Post 979 of Bartonville and the Hanna City Sportsman's Club. He was born in Litchfield, a son of Herman F. and Minnie Hubert Hagerdorn. He married Doris Barringer on July 25, 1943, in Litchfield. She died July 2, 1993, in Bartonville. Surviving are three sons, Thomas Hagerdorn of Bartonville, Dennis Hagerdorn of Dunlap, Martin Hagerdorn of Peoria; a sister, Patricia Millburg of Raymond; brothers, Herman Hagerdorn of Pittsfield, N.Y. and Robert Hagerdorn of Westerville, Ohio; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Other survivors include a sister in law, Mary Ellen Warren of Litchfield.

Hagerman, Minnie L.

Services for Minnie Louise Hagerman, of Hillsboro, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Hough and Sons Funeral Home there with the Rev. Kenneth Sandlin officiating. Burial will be in New Douglas Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home on Thursday from noon until the time of service. The family suggests memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Hagerman died at 12:05 a.m. Monday, April 12, 1999, in Hillsboro Hospital. She was 86 years old on September 20. She worked on the family farm and did housework for many Hillsboro residents. She was born in Prairietown, a daughter of Chris Frederick and Ella Mae Lambert Halleman. Her husband, Carl Albers Hagerman, died December 14, 1973. She was the last of her family, having been preceded in death by brothers, Gilbert, Ted and William Halleman, two brothers in infancy, a sister, Gabillia Halleman Jackson and another sister in infancy. Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.

Haggarty, Irene

Irene Haggarty, formerly of Nokomis, died Friday, December 25, 1998, in Heritage Manor of Pana. She was 76 years old on October 5. She was a personnel manager for F.W. Woolworth Company before she retired. She was born in Nokomis, a daughter of William and Coara Agnes Budds Goodwin. She married Robert W. Haggerty Sr. in 1941, in St. Charles, Mo. He died in 1983. Surviving are a daughter, Janet Eicholtz of Wayne, Mich.; son, Robert Haggarty Jr. of Kenosha, Wis.; sister, Sylvia Crawford of Pana; brothers, William and Donald "Mick" Goodwin, both of Pana and Thomas Goodwin of Whittier, Calif.; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Services were held today in Pana with burial in the Mound Cemetery there.

Hale, Grace Lena

Committal service for Grace Lena Hale, sister of David Smith of Gillespie, was held this morning in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield. Mrs. Hale, of Springfield, died Saturday, February 6, 1999, in St. John's Hospital there. She was 80 years old on July 9. She was born in Gillespie, a daughter of George and Janet Fife Smith. She married Charles Hale in 1936 in Springfield. He died in 1981. Surviving are sons, Ellis Hale of Tampa, Fla., Charles Hale of Springfield; daughters, Donna Juris of Rockford, Patricia Jackson, Jeanne Roberts, Mary Speeks, Joy Ale, all of Springfield, Sandra Smith of Tennessee; sister, Camella Pelton of Springfield; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Bisch and Son Funeral Home, Springfield, was in charge of arrangements.

Hamblin, Donald R.

Services for Donald R. Hamblin, of Litchfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church of Litchfield with the Rev. Paul Lellelid, interim pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Meinschein Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be directed to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church or to the Litchfield Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Hamblin died at 4:15 a.m. Sunday, November 22, 1998, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. He was 63 years old on July 17. He worked for IllİMo Product Company, Coca Cola Bottling Company and as a representative of the Nabisco Company before he retired in 1993. He also worked for Meinschein Funeral Home. He was a member of the Litchfield Volunteer Fire Department, Litchfield Bass Anglers, Ducks Unlimited and Turkey Federation, and the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a 1953 graduate of Litchfield High School. He was born in Peoria, a son of Donald Charles and Elaine Evelyn Johnson Hamblin. He married Marilyn L. Badman on October 7, 1956, in Litchfield. She survives. Surviving also are a son, Steven Hamblin of Litchfield; daughter, Pamela Hartley and husband David of Auburn; brothers, Larry D. Hamblin of Pawnee, David K. Hamblin of Hillsboro; grandsons, Kyle D. and Jesse D. Hartley of Auburn. Services for Donald R. Hamblin, of Litchfield, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Paul M. Lellelid officiated. Burial was in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Musical selections were "Lift High the Cross," "Beneath the Cross of Jesus" and "How Great Thou Art." Mary Beth Taylor was the organist. Eulogies were given by Allen Worms, Bob Sneed and Bob Rogers. Pallbearers were Rick Weatherford, Terry Rogers, Dave Sneed, Brad Bowles, Mike Hall and Gus Corso. Meinschein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Following the services a luncheon was served to family and friends in the church social hall by the women of the church. Mr. Hamblin, 63, died Sunday, November 22, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield.

Hamilton, Ruth L.

Services for Ruth Louise Hamilton, of Litchfield, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Litchfield Southern Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Bates, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Gillespie City Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Plummer Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Litchfield Southern Baptist Church. Mrs. Hamilton died at 6:20 this morning, Tuesday, February 16, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital. She was 66 years old on September 25. She and her husband, James, operated Hamilton's Salvage in Litchfield. She had also worked at St. Francis Hospital as a nurse's aid. She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church and taught Sunday school there for several years. She was born in Lexington, Ill., a daughter of Frank and Pauline Hurst Sauter. She married James Hamilton, Jr., of June 4, 1948, in Bloomington. He died July 7, 1992. Surviving are a son, James Hamilton III and wife Peggy of Litchfield; daughters, Ruth Easley and husband Virgil, Diane Hamilton, Lou Webb and husband Robert, all of Litchfield, Penny Hughes and husband Clifford of Gillespie; sisters, Frances Stewart of Litchfield, Kathryn Ashley of Florida, Betty Richards of Carlyle, Marilyn Travis of Marshall, Mich.; 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a brother, George "Bud" Sauter and a sister, Fran Kendall. Services for Ruth Louise Hamilton, of Litchfield, were held at 11 Thursday morning in the Litchfield Southern Baptist Church. Mike Bates, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was in Gillespie City Cemetery. Ann Hosto was the pianist and during the service she accompanied herself, Boyd and Phyllis Lively, Sherry Wallace and Linda Phelps as they sang the hymns "Amazing Grace," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "I Surrender All." Pallbearers were James Hamilton IV, Willie Hicks, Brian Holliday, Roger Perkins, Cecil Robinson and Kenneth Robinson, all of Litchfield. Following the services a meal was provided for the family and friends by the women of the church. Plummer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Hamilton, 66, died Tuesday, February 16, in St. Francis Hospital.

Hamlin, Esther

Esther Hamlin, formerly of Nokomis, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, in Manor Care Health Center, Marietta, Ga. She was 90 years old on January 10. She was born in Tower Hill, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ingraham. She married Palmer Hamlin in 1931 in Tower Hill. He died in 1996. Surviving are a daughter, Diane Jacobs and husband Al of Chicago, and a grandson. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Sutton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Nokomis Cemetery.

Hamm, Clarence L.

Services for Clarence L. Hamm, brother of George Hamm of Staunton and Charles Hamm of Litchfield, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Airsman-Hires Funeral Home at White Hall. Burial will be in Bowers Cemetery near Alsey. Mr. Hamm, of Waverly, died Sunday, February 7, 1999, in St. John's Hospice. He was 46 years old on January 23. He worked at Diamond Meat Packing in Carlinville for nine years and also for several years at Miller's farm at Auburn and at Excel in Beardstown. He was born in Jacksonville, a son of Alexander and Mary Marie Rosetta Smith Hamm. Surviving are sons, Johnny Hamm of Jacksonville, Clarence Hamm Jr. of White Hall; daughters, Tina Hamm of White Hall, Stephanie and Melody Hamm of Pittsfield; other brothers, Wilbur, Walter and Brice Hamm of Palmyra, Bert Hamm of Jacksonville, Bill Hamm of White Hall, Ollie Hamm of Green field, Donnie Hamm of Tampa, Fla.; sisters, Martha Kraushaar of Belltown, Helen Riechmann of White Hall; and several grandchildren.

Hamm, Mary Marie

Mary Marie Hamm, of Palmyra, died Sunday, October 4, 1998, in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. She was 79 years old on April 26. She was born in Carrollton, a daughter of Ed and Mary Estella Stumbaugh Smith. She married Alexander Hamm in 1937, in Palmyra, Mo. He died in 1965. Surviving are ten sons, George Hamm of Staunton, Charles Hamm of Litchfield, Wilbur, Walter and Brice Hamm, all of Palmyra, Bert Hamm of Jacksonville, Bill Hamm of White Hall, Ollie Hamm of Green field, Clarence Hamm of Waverly, Donnie Hamm of Springfield; two daughters, Martha Krushaar and Helen Riechmann, both of White Hall; 40 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren. Two daughters, Stella and Mamie, preceded her in death. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Neece Funeral Home, Waverly. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery there.

Hammann, Marjory M.

Services for Marjory M. Hammann, of Gillespie, will be held at noon Wednesday in the United Methodist Church there. Burial will be in Gillespie City Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Kravanya Funeral Home. Mrs. Hammann died at 3:35 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 1999, in her home. She was 63 years old on May 6. She was a clerk at Wareco Convenience Mart in Gillespie before she retired. She was a member of the women's auxiliary to VFW Post 4547 in Gillespie for 40 years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star chapter in Gillespie and the United Methodist Church. She was born in Mt. Clare, a daughter of Ernest and Rachel Lloyd White. She married Alvin K. Hammann on June 7, 1952, in Santa Maria, Calif. He survives. Surviving also are a daughter, Sandra Ruyle of Plainview and husband Donald; brother, Earl White of Decatur; sister, Betty Borgini of Mt. Clare; and a grandson, Donald Ruyle Jr. of Gillespie. A brother, Ernest White, preceded her in death.

Hancock, Marcella

Services for Marcella Hancock, of Nokomis, were held this morning in Sutton Funeral Home there. The Rev. Ernest Flowers officiated. Burial was in Nokomis Cemetery. Mrs. Hancock died at 6:35 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 1999, in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville. She was 79 years old on May 13. She was born in Morrisonville, a daughter of Walter Thomas and Mary E. Schwabe Davis. She married Albert R. Hancock on April 17, 1937 in Hillsboro; he died February 16, 1991. Surviving are sons, Raymond Hancock and wife Carol, Keith Hancock and wife Cynthia, all of Nokomis; six grandchildren, two step grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one step great grandchild.

Handshy, William F.

William F. Handshy died at 3:21 p.m. Monday, August 24, 1998, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. He was 69 years old on February 15, and a Marine veteran of World War II. Mr. Handshy, of Springfield, was a postal worker before retiring in 1984 after 35 years of service. He was active in the Masons, including as past patron of Scottish Rite, York Rite, Ansar Shrine, Jesters and treasurer of the Capitol City Shrine Club. He was born in Hillsboro, a son of Jesse Emanuel and Maude Irene Adcock Handshy. He married Evelyn Hutchison in Nov. 18, 1961, in Springfield. She survives. Surviving also are a brother, Marshall W. Handshy of Springfield; sisters, Jean Mayol of Normal and Eileen Foote of Citrus Heights, Calif. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Ellinger Kunz and Davis Funeral Home, Springfield with Masonic rites at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Hanisko, Anna

Anna Hanisko, formerly of Witt, died March 4, 1999, in Mariner Health of Westchester. She was 94 years old on January 7. She was born in Moweaqua, a daughter of Michael and Anna Komar, and was reared in Witt. She graduated from Witt High School. On November 23, 1940, she married William Hanisko. He died May 11, 1974. Surviving are a brother, Andrew Komar and a sister, Margaret Pehanich. Preceding her in death were three brothers, Michael, John and Stephen Komar and a sister, Marie Smith. Services were held in the Mater Christi Catholic Church with burial in the Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery.

Hansel, Alonzo W.

Services for Alonzo W. "Lonnie" Hansel, formerly of the local area, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. John's United Methodist Church, Edwardsville, with the Rev. David Myers, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery there. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Weber Funeral Home, Edwardsville. The family suggests memorials be directed to St. John's United Methodist Church. Mr. Hansel died at 9:20 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 1999, in Anderson Hospital at Maryville. He was 86 years old last March 12. He worked for the Edwardsville Creamery for 34 years before retiring on April 1, 1974. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 525 of Alton and St. John's United Methodist Church of Edwardsville. He was born in Litchfield, a son of Elmer and Mary Alice Bishop Hansel. He married Ruth Jessie Brown on December 21, 1935, in Edwardsville. She died November 27, 1995. Surviving are daughters, Marilyn Fricke and husband Larry of St. Peters, Mo., Alice May Schantz and husband Raymond of Highland, Evelyn Lonnetta "Loni" Hansel of Edwardsville; brothers, Russell Hansel and wife Ruth of Girard, Merle Hansel and wife Suzanne of Troy; a sister, Frances Schwing of Troy; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Hansen, Evelyn E.

Evelyn E. Hansen, of Fillmore, died Tuesday, February 2, 1999, in St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham. She was 71 years old on January 29. She was born in Naperville, a daughter of Jacob and Caroline Bauer. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Eugene Hansen; a son, Don Hansen of Vandalia; three sisters, one brother and a granddaughter.

Harbaugh, David O.

Services for David Oliver "Bubba" Harbaugh, of Mt. Clare, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Becker and Son Funeral Home, Mt. Olive, with the Rev. Shannon Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive City Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Mt. Olive Cemetery or the Shriners Hospital. Mr. Harbaugh died at 1:38 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 1999, in Barnes Hospital, St. Louis. He was 51 years old on April 10. He was retired from the Army after serving 21 years, from 1966 to 1987, and was employed as a counter man for Bowl Haven in Alton. He loved to bowl, achieving a 300 game on August 28, 1998, at Bowl Haven. He was a member of the Honda Rider Club of America Chapter 23. He was born in Alton, a son of Hal and Julia Young Harbaugh, and added schools there. He married Arlene Pauge on February 10, 1990, in Godfrey. She survives. Surviving also are sons, David Harbaugh Jr. of White City, Ronnie Street of Siloam Springs, Ark., Eric Street of Mt. Clare; daughters, Tracy Sykes and husband Donald Jr. of Litchfield, Cynthia Harbaugh of Hillsboro; brother, Elden Harbaugh and wife Donna of Alton; sisters, Betty King, Nancy Gaskill, both of East Alton, Barbara Williams and husband Paul, Linda Flangan and husband Kevin of Alton; Mary Harris and husband Richard of Teutoplis; and five grandchildren. Others surviving include a special friend, Angelia Hall. Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, John and a sister, Janice Harbaugh. Services for David Oliver "Bubba" Harbaugh, of Mt. Clare, were held at 11 this morning Becker and Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Shannon Bryant officiated. Full military honors were conducted at graveside in Mt. Olive City Cemetery by the honor guard from Fort Leonardwood, Mo. A special song, "Daddy's Hands" was played. Pallbearers were Frank Laurent, Dave Barski, Lee Hughes, Alan Bondy, Orville Peters, Tim LaRoche. Following the services a lunch was served in the Gillespie Civic Center by members of Chapter 23 of the Honda Riders Club of America. Mr. Harbaugh, 51, died Saturday, May 22, in Barnes Hospital, St. Louis.

Hardin, Russell L.

Services for Russell L. Hardin, father of Pam Krager of Raymond, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Taylorville. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery there. Connolly - McClure Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hardin died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, in his home in Taylorville. He was 72 years old on September 9, and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a papermaker with Georgia Paper Company for 33 years before retiring in 1988, and was a member of the United Paper Workers Union and the AFL-CIO. He was also a member of the Over 25 Year Club of Georgia Pacific. He was born in Taylorville, a son of Raymond H. and Paulina L. Zemke Hardin. He married Josephine Kershaw in Taylorville in 1951; she died in 1987. Surviving besides Mrs. David Krager are three other daughters, Linda Nagle of Shiloh, Susan Champley of Benton and Rhonda Anderson of Taylorville; a son, David Hardin of Taylorville; a sister, Irene Noblet of Taylorville; 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Hardy, Dorthy R.

Services for Dorthy R. Hardy, formerly of Farmersville, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Taylorville Christian Church. Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. The Shafer Funeral Home in Taylorville is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Hardy, of Mt. Auburn, died Tuesday, January 5, 1999, in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. She was 83 years old on August 10. She was a teacher in the Mt. Auburn schools for many years and with her association in the Farm Bureau, taught agriculture classes. She received her teacher's certification in 1933 from Illinois State Normal University and continued her education, earning a bachelors degree in 1972 from Sangamon State Univresity and a masters degree the following year also from SSU. Among her memberships she was a past president of the Farm Bureau Women. She was born in Farmersville, a daughter of Harvey K. and Sophia Hertel Warnick. She married John O. Hardy in Indiana in 1935. He died in 1984. Surviving are a son, Jack Hardy of Davie, Fla.; daughters, Joan Cornell of Taylorville, June Dazzeo of Margate, Fla.; a brother, Glenn K. Warnick of Mt. Auburn; sisters, Lucille Halliday of Sacramento, Calif., Mae Neutzling of Escondido, Calif.; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Hargis, Glen Herndon

Services for Glen Herndon Hargis, whose wife, the former Margaret Heaton, is from Hillsboro, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Roarick Davis Memorial Home in Edinburg. Burial will be in Edinburg Cemetery. Mr. Hargis, of Edinburg, died Sunday, November 1, 1998, in Walnut Ridge Healthcare Center there. He was 72 years old on January 15, and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a farmer, past member of the American Legion and past member of the Genealogical Society of Christian County. He was born in Springfield, a son of Leslie Glen and Marjorie Kurfiss Hargis. He married Margaret Heaton in 1956 in Hillsboro. She survives. Surviving also is a sister, Norma and husband Paul of Edinburg.
