Susan K. Johnson

September 9, 1944 - October 31, 2010

Susan K. Johnson, 66, of Knightstown, died Oct. 31 at Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle.

She was born Sept. 9, 1944, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Charles and Beverly (Gard) Latham.

Mrs. Johnson was a 1963 New Castle Chrysler High School graduate. She worked for Firestone, Ponderosa, Henry County Memorial Hospital and Hickory Care Nursing Home.

Survivors include her aunt, Rose Mary (husband, Bill) Clarke of Indianapolis; two sisters, Rebecca Brown of Knightstown and Patricia (husband, B.J.) Hargis of Sullivan; a niece, Taylor Hargis of Sullivan; two nephews, Charles and Russell Anderson, both of Knightstown; a granddaughter, Crystal of Kentucky; and several cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy and Jonathan Adams.

Funeral services are at noon Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown with Rev. Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation is 11 a.m. until time of services on Nov. 3 at the funeral home.

Odelene Enix

April 11, 1929 - October 31, 2010

Odelene Enix, 81, of Mansfield, Ohio, died Oct. 31 at MedCentral in Mansfield.

She was born April 11, 1929, in Harris, Ky., a daughter of the late Ollie Estell and Faithy (Gilliam) Stephens.

Mrs. Enix enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing cards, quilting and assembling flower arrangements. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and attending family get-togethers.

Survivors include her children, Penny S. (husband, Douglas) McClain, Donald R. (wife, Janis) Enix and David E. Enix; five grandchildren, Kimberly Jamison, Rachele Meade, Donald Enix, Daniel Enix and Justin Enix; three step-grandchildren, Kevin Thomas, Misty Roberts and Tracey Clay; three great-grandchildren, Riley Meade, Mika Enix and Ethan Jamison; six step great-grandchildren, Andrew Thomas, Levi Hadley, John Roberts, Megan Enix, Angela Enix and Zarra Thomas; two brothers, Robert "Bob" Stephens and Donald Stephens; two sisters, Virginia "Violet" Stacey and Lura Stephens; and sev eral nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. Enix; two brothers, Coy Stephens and June "June" Stephens; a granddaughter, Daphne Daniels; and a great-grandson, Peyton Enix.

Funeral services were Nov. 3 at Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors in Mansfield, Ohio. Burial fol lowed at Oak Grove Memorial Park. Visitation was Nov. 2 at the funeral home.

Maxine Johnson

December 16, 1929 - October 30, 2010

Maxine Johnson, 80, of Middletown, Ohio, died Oct. 30 at Atrium Medical Center in Middletown.

She was born Dec. 16, 1929, in Muses Mill, Ky., a daughter of the late Clayton and Norma Fields.

Mrs. Johnson moved to Knightstown and was a 1947 Knightstown High School graduate. She worked as a manager for Junior Achievement and also worked 18 years in the office of Dr. Stephan Zelling. An active mem ber of Episcopal Church of the Ascension, Mrs. Johnson was a former member of Psi Iota Xi sorority in Knightstown.

Survivors include her husband, William H. Johnson; two sisters, Mary Wyatt (husband, George) Roland of Greenfield and Mildred (husband, Robert) Snyder of Dayton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammi Jo Johnson.

Funeral services were Nov. 3 at Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Middletown, Ohio, with Rev. Elaine Caldbeck officiating. Burial followed at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was Nov. 2 at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home in Middletown.

Terrence D. Kieninger

December 19, 1947 - October 28, 2010

Terrence D. Kieninger, 62, of Indianapolis, died Oct. 28 at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born Dec. 19, 1947, in Indianapolis, a son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Wilson) Kieninger.

Mr. Kieninger worked as a truck driver and construction worker for many years. He enjoyed working on cars and for auto auctions in Indianapolis. Mr. Kieninger also enjoyed rac ing cars. An avid bowler, he participated in several bowling leagues. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Greenwood.

Survivors include four daughters, Yvonne S. (husband, Mike) Kieninger of Greenfield, Theresa M. (husband, Eric) Gordon of New Castle, Michele L. Sewell of Mitchell and Faith L. Ebbert of Knightstown; three sons, Kenneth D. Kieninger, Michael R. Kieninger and Joshua A. Kieninger, all of Knightstown; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sis ter and a brother.

Private funeral services will be held at the family’s convenience. Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown is handling arrangements.

Dorothy Frances Anderson

June 10, 1919 - October 16, 2010

Dorothy Frances Anderson, 91, of New Castle, died Oct. 16 at Glen Oaks Health Care in New Castle.

She was born June 10, 1919, in Joplin, Mo., a daughter of the late Herbert and Ruby (McFarland) McMillan.

Mrs. Anderson moved to New Castle from Fresno, Cal., and was a retired school teacher. She was a member of First Covenant Church of Fresno.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet L. McGuire of Knightstown and Ingrid K. Ritson of Likley, British Columbia; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernal Edward Anderson.

Funeral services will take place in Fresno at the family’s convenience. Burial will take place in Belmont Memorial Park in Fresno. Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown handled local arrangements.

Rebecca J. Mathes

April 6, 1951 - November 8, 2010

Rebecca J. Mathes, 59, of New Castle, died Nov. 8 at Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle.

She was born April 6, 1951, in New Castle, a daughter of Robert V. and Nancy (McCoy) Mathes.

Miss Mathes worked at Draper Shade in Spiceland for over 25 years, and was recognized as the final gradu- ate of Spiceland High School in 1969. Miss Mathes earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Earlham College and later served as an ordained minister with King’s Way Fellowship in Pensacola, Fla. She also served as a pas tor at that church’s Middletown affiliate. Miss Mathes was known as someone who lived her faith and encour aged and comforted others. She enjoyed working around her home, spending time with family and spending time in Northern Michigan.

Survivors include her parents of Spiceland; a sister, Beth A. Mathes of Elkhart; a brother, Robert M. (wife, Jeanine) Mathes of New Castle; and a nephew, Chris Mathes of New Castle.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Geneva McCoy and Lawrence V. and Bertha M. Mathes.

Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at the Spiceland gymnasium on West Broad Street with Pastors Rick Curry and Gary Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland. Visitation is 11 a.m. until time of services on Nov. 12 at Sproles Family Funeral Home in New Castle.

Memorial contributions may be made to King’s Way Fellowship.

Billy Jack Lee, Jr.

September 5, 1957 - November 8, 2010

Billy Jack Lee, Jr., 53, of Dunreith, died Nov. 8 at his home.

He was born Sept. 5, 1957, in Henry County, a son of Dorothy (Essex) Lee and the late Billy Jack Lee, Sr.

Mr. Lee worked at Chrysler Corporation in Kokomo and was a member of the Eastern Indiana 4-Wheelers. An avid NASCAR fan, he also enjoyed Indianapolis Colts football and was known as a proud father, husband and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and spending time with friends.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca (Jordan) Lee of Dunreith; a daughter, Misty (husband, Aaron) Sprague of Shelbyville; two sons, Travis (wife, Holly) Lee of Kennard and Troy Lee of Dunreith; six grandchildren, Resa Williams of Shelbyville, Shyann Lee of Kennard, Syrus Lee of Kennard, Tony Sprague of Shelbyville, Jacob Sprague of Shelbyville and Starlight Lee of Kennard; his mother, Dorothy Herndon of Muncie; two sisters, Teresa (husband, Bill) Whicker of New Port Richey, Fla., and Robin (husband, Jay) Carter of Cowan; a brother, Tom (wife, Susan) Lee of Muncie; a cousin, David Lee; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Jack Lee, Sr.

Funeral services were Nov. 10 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Rev. Bobby Slagle officiating. Burial followed at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation was Nov. 9 at the funeral home.
