Ronald Stephen Bowling

April 10, 1933 - July 24, 2010

Ronald Stephen Bowling, 77, of Lewisville, died July 24 at his home.

He was born April 10, 1933, in London, Ky., a son of the late Ezekiel and Bertha (Sweet) Bowling.

Mr. Bowling retired from Chrysler Corporation after 32 years of service. He was a member of United Auto Workers, Lewisville Presbyterian Church and First Baptist Church of Everglades City (Florida). An avid fisherman, Mr. Bowling was a known as a master crafts man who could fix almost anything. He was also known for his service to others, helping all in need and working hard to help others accomplish home improvement projects.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine (Lochmueller) Bowling; three daughters, Vicki (hus band, Ron) Dukes of Louisville, Ky., Ronda (husband, John) Beck of Lexington, Ky., and Kathy (husband, Rick) Parker of Centerville; two sons, Ronald Bowling of West Bloomfield, Mich., and Jeffrey Gillespie of Lewisville; six grandchildren, Jennifer (husband, Jon) Tinkle, Craig (wife, Amber) Parker, Andrew (wife, Stacy) Parker, Stephanie Beck, John David Beck and Grant Huyear; six great-grandchildren, Haylee, Elizabeth and Edward Parker and Luke, Jacob and Nicholas Tinkle; two brothers, Ezekiel Bowling of Hamilton, Ohio, and David Bowling of Marietta, Ga.; and a sister, Elizabeth Sullivan of Hamilton, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Beulah Hendrix; and a brother, Donald Bowling.

Funeral services were July 31 at Lewisville Presbyterian Church with Revs. Arthur Whitaker, Clifton Homes and Peter Zinn officiating. Visitation was prior to services at the church. Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Lewisville handled arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lewisville Presbyterian.

Ray Hibbert

July 13, 1954 - August 9, 2010

Ray Hibbert, 56, of Knightstown, died Aug. 9 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis.

He was born July 13, 1954, in Indianapolis, a son of the late Donald and Elizabeth (Myers) Hibbert.

Mr. Hibbert was a 1972 Scecina Memorial High School (Indianapolis) graduate. He worked for Carpenter Technology in Indianapolis for 22 years, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa (Addair) Hibbert of Knightstown; four sons, Ray, Nathan, Anthony and Adam Hibbert; four brothers, Donald J. (wife, Connie) Hibbert, Jr., Stephen A. (wife, Becky) Hibbert, Ed L. (wife, Debbie) Hibbert and Mark R. (wife, Paula) Hibbert; and four sisters, Barbara K. Schrader, Nancy R. (husband, Dave) Nemecek, Theresa M. Welhoelter and Phyllis J. Trowbridge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Joseph Hibbert; and a sister, Jacqueline Sue Hibbert.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield with Pastor Maureen Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis. Visitation is Aug. 11 from 4-8 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield.

Memorial contributions will be used by the family to help defray funeral expenses. Contributions may be mailed to Erlewein Mortuary, 1484 W. U.S. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140.

Edward E. Rogers

October 20, 1946 - August 7, 2010

Edward E. Rogers, 63, of Shirley, died Aug. 7 at Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis.

He was born Oct. 20, 1946, in New Castle, a son of the late Arthur and Mary (Godsey) Rogers.

Mr. Rogers worked at Roll Coater in Greenfield for over 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and attending family reunions. A member of Shirley Christian Church, he served as trustee and deacon. He also served on the Shirley Town Council for several years. Mr. Rogers enjoyed woodworking, making benches and shelves, and other activities in his garage and shed.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon (LaVallee) Rogers of Shirley; three daughters, Candy Rogers of Shirley, Angela (husband, Brian) Tompkins of Markleville and Pam (husband, Jason) Faucett of Wilkinson; four grand children, Amy and Jackson Tompkins of Markleville and Julia and Brenton Faucett of Wilkinson; four siblings, Darline Gross of Grant City, Ella Mae (husband, Jere) Riggs of Knightstown, Douglas (wife, Lois) Rogers of Knightstown and Elizabeth (husband, Jim) Durham of Knightstown; a brother-in-law, Forrest Wyatt of Knightstown; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Wyatt Edward Lee Tompkins; a half-brother, Elza Rogers; and a sister, Norene Wyatt.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at Shirley Christian Church with Rev. Gary Sickle officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown with full military graveside rites conducted by Knightstown American Legion Post 152. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown.

Patricia Ann Loy

January 25, 1937 - July 28, 2010

Patricia Ann (Liverett) Loy, 73, of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Knightstown, died July 28 in Tulsa.

She was born Jan. 25, 1937, in Indianapolis, a daughter of the late Elwyn Moysten and Helen Estelle (Naftzger) Liverett.

Mrs. Loy attended Herron School of Art in Indianapolis and worked for several years as a layout artist for the Indianapolis Star. She was a member of Knightstown Business and Professional Women and Psi Iota Xi sorority.

Survivors include a sister, Constance Estep of Hartsell, Ala.; three brothers, William Liverett of Franklin, Thomas Liverett of Hartville, Ohio, and James Liverett of Greenwood; three sons, Andrew (wife, Victoria) Loy of Walworth, Wisc., Jeffrey Loy of Indianapolis and Michael (wife, Bonnie) Loy of Tulsa; six grandsons, Richard, Thomas, Benjamin, Nicholas, Christopher and Stephen; and three granddaughters, Melissa, Susan and Margaret.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Loy.

Funeral arrangements were handled by the Cremation Society of Oklahoma. Memorial services are tentatively scheduled for Sept. 25 at Greenwood Presbyterian Church.

Eva Mae Jordan

December 14, 1932 - August 14, 2010

Eva Mae Jordan, 77, of Shirley, died Aug. 14 at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis.

She was born Dec. 14, 1932, in Shirley, a daughter of the late Kim and Katie (Wiles) Goudy.

Mrs. Jordan lived in Shirley her entire life and was known as a loving wife and mother. She was a member of Shirley Christian Church. She cared for many area children over the years.

Survivors include her husband, Rogert G. Jordan of Shirley; three daughters, Connie (husband, Tony) Hinton of Lewisville, Bonita Martin of Greenfield and Sandra (husband, Rick) Henderson of Comer, Ga.; a son, John Jordan of Knightstown; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Richard (wife, Kaleda) Goudy of Shirley; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Basil, Russell, Eugene and Leroy Goudy; and four sisters, Ruth Goudy, Lavada Goudy, Madalen Zinko and Augusta Lanigan.

Funeral services were Aug. 17 at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown with Jimmy Jackson officiating. Arrangements were handled by Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson.

Shirley A. Johnson

September 12, 1935 - August 14, 2010

Shirley A. Johnson, 74, of Willow Branch, died Aug. 14 at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis.

She was born Sept. 12, 1935, in Jabez, Ky., a daughter of the late Jonah and Elsie (Polston) Oakes.

Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and a member of Kennard Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence Johnson of Willow Branch; two sons, Rick (wife, Charla) Johnson of Willow Branch and Gary (wife, Vicki) Johnson of Nashville, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Oakes.

Funeral services were Aug. 18 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, in Greenfield with Revs. Randall Morris and Dillard Cole officiating. Burial followed at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. Visitation was Aug. 17 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kennard Baptist Church, 6931 E. County Road 100 S., Kennard, IN 47351.

Dorothy E. Hogan

December 7, 1926 - August 14, 2010

Dorothy E. Hogan, 83, of Greenfield, died Aug. 14 at her home.

She was born Dec. 7, 1926, in Henderson, Ky., a daughter of the late John T. and Lucinda B. Stone.

Mrs. Hogan worked in home healthcare and was a baby sitter for many years. She was a member of Faith Apostolic Church in Greenfield.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Hogan of Orlando, Fla., and Robert W. Hogan of Greenfield; a daughter, Candace (husband, Joe) Kuntz of Batesville; eight grandchildren, Tina (husband, Chad) Dadisman, Steve Hogan, Kelly (husband, Steve) Mars, John (wife, Pacha) Hogan, Justin (wife, Miki) Cole, Jason Kuntz, Alex Kuntz and Carter Kuntz; seven great- grandchildren; a brother, John (wife, Bernice) Stone of Salisbury; and two sisters, Sibbie Dukes of Henderson, Ky., and Nellie Harper of Paducah, Ky.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James S. Hogan; two great-grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at Faith Apostolic Church in Greenfield with Pastor John Reading officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, at the church. Stillinger Family Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
