Jerry R. Vaughan, Jr.

July 26, 1917 - October 1, 2009

Jerry R. Vaughan, Jr., 92, of Evansville, died Oct. 1.

He was born on Irish Ridge in Forney, Tex., on July 26, 1917, a son of Jerry and Julia Vaughan.

Mr. Vaughan graduated in 1939 from Texas A&M with a degree in petroleum engineering. He was commissioned as a field artillery officer in the U.S. Army. He then embarked on a 47-year career with Sun Oil Company. Mr. Vaughan was an active duty Army training officer from 1944-46; he escorted occupation troops to Japan. He was discharged as a captain in 1946 and resumed his career at Sun Oil in Evansville. Mr. Vaughan was a founding member and past president of the Evansville chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He received a service citation from the American Petroleum Institute, of which he had also been a member. Additionally, Mr. Vaughan maintained memberships in the Illinois Basin Oil and Gas Association and Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Evansville, where he was a Brute Society inductee. He also founded a chapter of the Association of Former Students of Texas A&M and organized a local version of the "Aggie Muster."

Survivors include his wife, Helen (Callahan) Vaughan; five children, Jerry Stephen Vaughan of Evansville, John (wife, Andrea) Vaughan of Clarendon Hills, Ill., Richard (wife, Lee) Vaughan of Carthage, Patricia (husband, Bill) Theby of Evansville and Catherine Vaughan of Evansville; a brother-in-law, Robert Seay of Austin, Tx.; grandchildren, Robert (wife, Jill) Vaughan, Susan (husband, Randy) Dolinsky, Ashley (husband, Patrick) Vaughan Stroebel, J.R. (wife, Amanda) Vaughan, Matthew (wife, Diane) Theby, Taylor Vaughan, David Theby, Katie Vaughan and Julie Vaughan; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Clark and Rita Seay.

Funeral services were Oct. 3 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Evansville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Holy Rosary Church in Evansville or Holy Redeemer Catholic church, also in Evansville.

Marcella L. Brumfield

April 11, 1919 - October 1, 2009

Marcella L. Brumfield, 90, of Frankfort, formerly of Markleville, died Oct. 1.

She was born April 11, 2009, in Madison County, a daughter of the late Lundy and Cora Beatrice (Johnson) Brumfield.

Miss Brumfield retired from Plant 8 at Delco Remy in Anderson in 1974. She was a member of Markleville United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Eastern Star #363.

Survivors include two cousins, Barbara Rodman of Whitefish, Montana, and Kay Wade of Charleston, S.C.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Alice Chadwick; a brother-in-law, Paul Chadwick; and a cousin, Glenn Johnson.

Funeral services were Oct. 5 at Wesley Manor Retirement Community Chapel in Frankfort with Rev. Tim Terrell officiating. Additional services took place Oct. 7 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson. Burial follows at Harlan Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation was Oct. 6 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley Manor Retirement Community in Frankfort, or Guardian Angel Hospice in Kokomo.

Angel Colleen Edwards

October 1, 2009 - October 1, 2009

Angel Colleen Edwards, infant daughter of Jared and Erin (Horine) Edwards of Greenfield, died Oct. 1 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis.

Survivors include her parents; a twin brother, Wyatt Matthew Edwards; paternal grandparents, Donald and Linda Edwards of Greenfield; maternal grandparents, Joseph Horine of Anderson and Linda Horine of Carthage; paternal great-grandmother, Senie Taylor; aunts, Jody (husband, Brad) Fleck of Shelbyville, Jamie (husband, Jeff) McKee of New Palestine, Kerri Jones of Carthage and Kayla Horine of Anderson; and several cousins.

Funeral services are at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown with Pastor Gregory Howard officiating. Visitation is 11 a.m. until time of services on Oct. 10 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Angel Colleen Edwards memorial fund at Greenfield Banking Company.

Shane Allen Loveall

August 27, 1979 - October 2, 2009

Shane Allen Loveall, 30, of Fishers, died Oct. 2 in Summersville, W.V.

He was born Aug. 27, 1979, in Greenfield, the son of Paul and Cindy (Roland) Loveall.

Mr. Loveall was a 1997 Knightstown High School graduate and a 2001 Ball State University graduate. He was a member and past vice president of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and recently began working toward a masters degree at Ball State. He was employed at Wellpoint of Indianapolis. An avid Chicago Cubs and Indianapolis Colts fan, Mr. Loveall enjoyed traveling with friends and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his parents, Paul and Cindy Loveall of Knightstown; a brother, Ryan (wife, Serena) Loveall of Knightstown; three nieces, Brittany and Kelsey Fisher and Brooklyn Loveall, all of Knightstown; a nephew, Brock Loveall of Knightstown; his grandmother, Manda Roland of Knightstown; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather, Wilfred Roland.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown with Pastor Ron Mills officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was Oct. 6 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Charlottesville Worship Center.

Florence Lavohn Reger

September 29, 1911 - October 3, 2009

Florence Lavohn "Aunty" Reger, 98, of Knightstown, died Oct. 3 at Brandywine Nursing Home in Greenfield.

She was born Sept. 29, 1911, in Hancock County, a daughter of the late Robert B. and Verna Bessie (Morris) Jackson.

Mrs. Reger was a deeply religious person who evangelized about her faith. A1929 Charlottesville High School graduate, she worked at Delco Remy in Anderson. She continued to work there until the end of World War II.

She briefly worked in the dietary services department of Hancock Memorial Hospital before retiring. She was a longtime member of Shirley Friends Church.

Survivors include two nieces, Judy (husband, Randy) Grass of Greenfield and Terri (husband, Larry) Sulek of Indianapolis; and three nephews, Jerry D. Jackson of Clearwater, Fla., Jim (wife, Sandy) Jackson of Shirley and Roy Gene Reger of Markleville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie C. Reger; and two brothers, Morris and Robert M. Jackson.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Shirley with Pastor Jim Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Harlan Cemetery in Wilkinson. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at the funeral home.

Eugenia Mull

July 23, 1929 - October 4, 2009

Eugenia Mull, 80, formerly of Raleigh, died Oct. 4 at Rush Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born July 23, 1929, in Rushville, a daughter of the late Eugene Thomas Clifton and Augusta B. Lail.

Mrs. Mull was a member of Raleigh Christian Church and attended Raleigh High School. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, James E. (wife, Peggy) Mull of Knightstown and David Kelly Mull of Rushville; a daughter, Diane (husband, Tim) Washmuth of Falmouth; a brother, George (wife, Marjorie) Brownell of Rushville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Raleigh Christian Church with Rev. Tony Ausburger officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Raleigh. Visitation is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at the church.

Norvella I. Nelson

January 31, 1923 - October 23, 2009

Norvella I. Nelson, 86, formerly of Charlottesville, died Oct. 23 at Brandywine Manor Nursing Home in Greenfield.

She was born Jan. 31, 1923, in Dunreith, a daughter of the late Frank and Ruth (McDaniel) Ledbetter.

Mrs. Nelson was a member of Charlottesville United Methodist Church and Shirley Order of the Eastern Star #492. She retired from Hancock Bank and Trust as a branch manager after 25 years of service.

Survivors include three sons, Tom (wife, Sharon) Nelson of Carthage, Steve (wife, Linda) Nelson of Knightstown and Daniel (wife, Debbie) Nelson of Laurel; a brother, Roy Ledbetter of Greenfield; a sister, Patsy Fout of Kissimmee, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas B. Nelson, Jr.; and a son, Ronnie Nelson.

Funeral services were Oct. 26 at Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Pastor Debbie Beason officiating. Burial followed at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation was Oct. 25 at the funeral home.
