David Angelo Smith, 38, of 200 Brazoswood, Apt. 2723, Clute, TX, passed away at 8:00 AM Monday, June 2, 2008 in his residence.
He was born November 1, 1969, in Suffolk, VA, to Billy and Lilly Parker Smith.
Angelo was a Winamac resident for 28 years. He was a graduate of Winamac High School. In high school he played football and was a wrestler. Angelo was a member of the Pro Bass Club. He was an outdorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. Angelo loved spending time with his children and his nieces and nephews. Angelo moved to Texas to work construction jobs.

LAWRENCE JOSEPH PERRY SR.

Lawrence Joseph Perry, Sr., 90, of 5276 East 200 South, Kewanna, IN, passed away at 7:40 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2008, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac, IN.
He was born Dec. 16, 1917, in Pulaski County, IN, to Leujay Perry and Bertha (Lebold) Perry, who preceded him in death.
He was raised in Harrison Township, Pulaski County and attended school in Harrison Township, where he later made his home. In Nov. 3, 1942, he married Mary Jane (Brucker) Perry at St. Anne’s Church in Monterey, IN, who survives him.
He was a successful and hardworking farmer for 31 years on a farm that has been in the family name for 90 years. Lawrence designed and helped build his home and all his farm buildings.
Lawrence was a foreman for the Indiana Department of Transportation from 1969 to 1978 after retiring from farming. For four years he was Harrison Township trustee.
He enjoyed and made many family trips to the western states, particularly the Rocky Mountain area. Many family fishing trips were made to Minnesota with his father and later with his children.
He and his wife owned Maple Corner Antiques and exhibited at many in-state and out-of-state antique shows. They particularly enjoyed fine antique china and primitives.
Lawrence and his wife were active members of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Kewanna, IN and are members of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac, IN, where he was a past member of the Parish Council.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven children, James (Mary Gudas) Perry of Piqua, Ohio, Rosemary (Stephen) Perry-Hessong of West Lafayette, IN, Albert (Joyce Matteson) Perry of Evansville, IN, Michael “Mick” Perry, Sr. of Winamac, IN, Marilyn (Duane) Galbreath of Vonore, TN, Kathleen (James) Weidner of Salem, IL, and Jane (Ron) Becker of Zionsville, IN; 20 grandchildren, Mary Eileen Miller, Lawrence Joseph Perry III, Christine Gladden, Theresa Whalen, Wayne Perry, Diana Perry, Michelle Perry, Michael Yoder, Lesly Norris, Christopher Perry, John Perry, Jennifer Gilliam, Stephanie Lemberis, Michael Perry Jr., Duane Galbreath Jr., Allison Galbreath, Lydia Weidner, Jack Weidner, Hannah Becker and Erica Becker; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two sisters, Anna Parcel of Winamac, IN and Theresa (Lloyd) Banks of Culver, IN.
He was preceded in death by one son, Lawrence Joseph Perry Jr.; one grandson, Mark Perry; three sisters, Viola (Eugene) Smith, Mabel (Robert) Cecrle, Helen (Isadore) Crist; and one brother, Charles Perry.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 27th from 3 to 8 p.m. EDT at Frain Mortuary, Winamac, IN. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 28th at 10:30 a.m. EDT at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac, IN. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Winamac, IN
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to any of the following charities: Pulaski County Public Library, Ancilla College, St. Peter’s Catholic Church, or - Sisters of Poor Clare, Belleville, IL.

Mary E. Balciunas, 84, of 8456 Saratoga Drive, Lambertville, MI, formerly of Winamac, IN., passed away at 6:30 PM Monday, July 21, 2008 at St. Anne Mercy Hospital in Toledo, OH.
She was born August 30, 1923, in Crookston , MN, to Harry and Adelaid Street Chase. Mary was married to Vytol "Vito" Balciunas on June 2, 1943 in Chicago, IL. He died on December 10, 1967. Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winamac, IN. She and her husband had operated a grocery in Ripley, IN. She had worked at the Dairy Barn, Ace Hardware and the Coast to Coast Hardware in Winamac. IN Mary enjoyed shopping, reading and serving her church.

Robert W. Kirk, 66, of 2730 E 600 N, Monterey, IN, passed away at 9:40 AM Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, IN.
He was born March 24, 1942, in Louisville, KY, to William and Elsie Steff Kirk. He married Marie Tesseman on August 24, 1967 in Hammond, IN. Marie died on February 3, 2003. Robert was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Knox, IN. He worked as a machinist at Winamac Coil Spring in Kewanna, IN. Robert enjoyed playing guitar, singing, fishing and gardening. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed joking and kidding with friends and family. Robert will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

She was married to Otto Joseph Clark Jr. on Jan. 15, 1955 in North Judson, IN. He died on June 2, 2001.
She attended the Medaryville Assembly of God Church.
She lived most of her life in Medaryville.
She retired from the Medaryville Garment Factory.
She loved to travel and enjoyed taking pictures.

She was born July 14, 1927, in Chicago, IL, to John Sheville and Romaine Tiffany Capper.
She married Paul Bradford Heinsen on Nov. 15, 1968, in Kokomo, IN. He survives.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Punta Gorda, FL, and the American Contract Bridge League.
She was a native of Star City and had lived in Winamac, Knox, and Kokomo, IN, and had been a resident of Punta Gorda, FL.
She had a degree in Interior Design from Ivy Tech. State College in Kokomo, IN, and enjoyed interior decorating. She also was a gourmet cook and loved playing duplicate bridge.
