Walter William "Bill" Stutz
Tuesday, November 1, 1927 - Monday, March 13, 2017

Evansville, IN - Walter William “Bill” Stutz, 89, passed away on March 13, 2017 at River Pointe Health Campus in Evansville surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born on November 1, 1927 the son of Walter Carl and Louise (Kern) Stutz in Terre Haute IN. He worked in the Greater Jasper Consolidated School Corporation for 36 years. He started as a teacher and guidance counselor. He was principal from 1962 to 1969 when he became superintendent until he retired in 1991. He attended Crossroads Christian Church in Newburgh. He also served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years Lois Price, they were married on June 21, 1952 at the Old Union Christian Church; four children, Mark (Kathy) Stutz of Vincennes IN, Jane (Larry) Jones of Newport News VA, Ann (John) Smith of Evansville IN and Phillip (Mackenzie) Stutz of Madison WI, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; sister, Juanita Hunter of Logansport IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Dorothy Raubuck. Services will be on Friday March 17 at 1:00pm Central Time, with Tom Ellsworth officiating, in the chapel of Holders Funeral Home in Owensville IN. Burial in Saulmon Cemetery with Military graveside service conducted by the retired military veterans. Visitation will be on Thursday March 16 from 5:00 to 7:00pm Central Time at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville IN. Memorials may be made to the Saulmon Cemetery. Linda Jane (Boren) Anderson
Friday, May 22, 1942 - Sunday, December 25, 2016

Owensville, IN - Linda Jane (Boren) Anderson, 74, of Owensville passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born to the late Ermal Samuel Franklin Boren & Ruby Elizabeth (Beer) Boren on May 22, 1942 in Indianapolis. Linda graduated from Haubstadt High School in 1960. She married Wayne Anderson a year later on May 20, 1961. She lived out her life being a housewife, and a farmer. Linda was also a member of the Eastern Star and Blythe Chapel. She loved music, and she expressed it by playing organ and piano for multiple occasions. She is survived by her husband, Wayne of 55 years; 1 daughter, Sarah (Dave) Fuhs; and 2 granddaughters, Ashley and Alissa Fuhs; and her beloved dog, Buddy Services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 10 am at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with Pastor John Baylor officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 3-7pm at Holders, and also again on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 9 am until service time. Memorial donations can be made out to Liberty Cemetery of Cynthiana.

Esther D. (Hickrod) Jenkins
Monday, August 14, 1939 - Thursday, March 16, 2017

Fort Branch, IN - Esther D. (Hickrod) Jenkins, 77, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Transcendent Healthcare of Owensville. She was born August 14, 1939 in Gibson County to the late Clarence and Lilly Rose (Ringham) Hickrod. Esther was a homemaker, member of the Fort Branch United Methodist Church and the Francisco Lions Club. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John whom she married in Haubstadt on May 18, 1957; two children Charles H. Jenkins and Rose M. J. Saunders (James); two grandchildren, Johnathon W. Jenkins-Spindler and Kayla Greentree; one great-granddaughter, Kailani Greentree; siblings, Ed Hickrod, Carol Ann Mason (Jim), Dottie Weber (Ed); several nieces and nephews. Services for Esther will be Saturday March 25, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Fort Branch United Methodist Church corner of Main and Vine Streets in Fort Branch with Pastor John Baylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Maumee Cemetery in Johnson. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the service time at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation 60 East 56th Street,

Sylvia M (Pugh) Watson
Saturday, January 20, 1945 - Monday, February 20, 2017

Johnson, IN - Sylvia M. (Pugh) Watson, 72, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born in Gibson County on January 20, 1945 to the late Marvin and Dorothy (Brown) Pugh. Sylvia was a homemaker, member of the Nazarene church of Owensville where she was a Sunday school teacher. She is survived by her daughter, Veda Mayer; 4 grandchildren, Nicole (Patrick) Adams, LeRoy (Whitney) and Brandy Mayer and Eliza Dill; 4 great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Joshua, Matthew and Sarah Adams; Siblings, Melvin, Ronnie and Damon Pugh. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 50 years, Leonard on October 5, 2016; siblings, Evelyn and Mary Jane Pugh, Shirley Schatz and Allen Pugh. Services will be on Sunday Feb. 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Holders Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Delp officiating. Burial will be in the Maumee Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday Feb. 25, 2017 from 3-7 p.m.

MARY MAXINE BATES JUDD SMITH

MARY MAXINE BATES JUDD SMITH of Houston, Texas passed away on November 27, 2016. She was born December 9, 1925 in Princeton, Indiana to Louis and Helen Bates. She was a longtime member of Broadway Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy Kenneth Smith; son, James Robert Judd; brothers, Louis, Jr. and Ret. Col. James D. Bates. Survivors include her daughter Dr. Cynthia (Thomas) Chappell, Houston, Texas, sister Helen L. Cummings, Houston, grandsons, Kevin (David Sweeney) and Michael (Elizabeth) Chappell, great grandsons, Jacob and Andrew Chappell, stepsons, Kenneth G. (Sherri) Smith, Princeton, Dick R. (Linda) Smith, Fort Branch, four step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Burial will be at a later date in Montgomery Cemetery, Oakland City.

Fort Branch, IN - Gene Alfred Leister, 81, of Fort Branch, passed peacefully Saturday November 5, 2016 at his residence. He was born to the late George and Edith (Smith) Leister on August 12, 1935 in Fort Branch. Gene graduated from Fort Branch High School. He retired from Whirlpool after 41 years of being a Thermoformer Operator. Gene also liked to farm. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Sharon (Wallace) Leister; Buddy, his beloved dog; his 2 sons, Scott & Tom Leister; 5 daughters, Sherry (Walter) Schmitt, Rita Herron, Angela (David) Bainbridge, Judy Goad, and Shelly (Michael) Ewing; 16 grandchildren, Amanda Wilkerson, Jill (DJ) Wright, Jennifer Lewis, Nathan & Tony Seale, Drew (Amanda) & Michael (Talitha) Bainbridge, Zac Kirk-Hardin, Logan Kirk-Arndell, Owen, Kala, Noah, Sara, & Broc Goad, and Emma & Nico Ewing; 7 great grandchildren, Corbin Wilkerson, Evertt & Mila Wright, Hanah Lewis, Kyrsten Seale, and Cole & Anna Bainbridge; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his 5 brothers, Delmar, Earl, Urmal, Paul, and Darby Leister; 2 sisters, Josephine Deal and Jeanette Thompson. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with Bob Douglas officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 from 4-8 pm at Holders.

William Henry Bohner

Owensville, IN - William H. Bohner, 101, passed away Monday, Oct. 31, 2016 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton. He was born March 26, 1915 in Sandoval, IL to the late Fred and Effie (Belcher) Bohner. Bill retired from Ashland Oil as a gauger after many years of employment. His main hobby was gardening even after becoming a resident at River Oaks he could be found out grooming the grounds. Survivors include his two daughters, Ann (Don) Davison of Sacramento, CA Carolyn Loveless of Princeton; four grandchildren, Nicole (Monte) Bohannon, Tyler (Liz) Loveless, Suzanne (Chad) Bartlett and Scott (Honey) Bruce; 4 great-grandchildren, Bailey Bartlett, Ryder Loveless, Braylon Bohannon, Malcolm Bruce. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park at Centralia, IL. Holders Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
