Leroy Gray Christopher
Sunday, August 18, 1929 - Sunday, October 2, 2016
Leroy Gray Christopher, 87, Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016. He was born in Alexandria, Alabama on August 18, 1929 to Austin W. and Anna Belle Phillips Christopher. He served in the US Navy from 1948-50. Leroy worked for PPG Chemical in Texas for 20 years and National Starch for 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. Leroy attended Grace Point Church in Whiteland, IN. He is survived by his wife, Jean Christopher; children, Dan Douglas Christopher, John David Christopher, Joanie Endicott; brother-in-law, Don Cherry; 4 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 2 p.m. in Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home with visitation at the funeral home beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Greenwood.

Virginia M. (Diver) Mullin
Tuesday, May 4, 1920 - Friday, October 14, 2016
Virginia M. (Diver) Mullin passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016 in her home at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of sixty-two years, John W. Mullin. Virginia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the fifth of ten children born to Thomas and Louisa Diver of St. Francisville, IL. Virginia came to Indianapolis to work during WWII. After the war, she met and married John and together they raised five children, John (Pam), Tim (Kathy), Martha (Tom) Weber, Mary (Mark) Smith, and Margaret Bowers. Virginia was blessed with nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by three sisters. Virginia was a long time member of St. Catherine Parish, and in recent years, she was a member of St. Roch Parish. She was known for her common sense and, even to the end, her great sense of humor. Virginia was an avid sports fan. She loved watching everything including little league baseball, grade school kickball, high school basketball, Notre Dame football, IU basketball, and Colts football. She will be missed greatly by her family, friends, and wonderful neighbors. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 10 a.m. in St. Roch Catholic Church. Visitation will be Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home where prayers will be said on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. prior to Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Center Grove High School Best Buddies or St. Roch Catholic Church.

James Francis Kahl
Thursday, May 7, 1936 - Monday, September 26, 2016
James Francis Kahl, 80, Indianapolis, passed away Monday, September 26, 2016. He was born in Indianapolis on May 7, 1936 to Francis Leo and Helen Deckard Kahl. Jim was a 1954 graduate of Cathedral High School and served in the US Navy. He worked for Indiana Bell for 38 years as a service technician and installer before retiring as a computer technician in 1994. He was a member of St. Jude Church, Knights of Columbus, AT&T Pioneers, and American Legion Post 495. In 1979 Jim was the recipient of the Monsignor Albert Busald Award given for his service to youth through the CYO. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Kahl; brother, Dick Kahl; and his son, Andy Wire. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Laker) Kahl; children, Gary Kahl, David Kahl (Angie), Steve Kahl (Darleen), David Wire (Cheryl), Chris Wire (Robin), Colleen Tye, Cathy Matis (Jim); 24 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 11 a.m. in St. Jude Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home where prayers will be said on Friday at 10:30 a.m. prior to Mass. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Rosemary H. Partain
Thursday, August 13, 1925 - Friday, July 29, 2016
Rosemary Helen Partain, 90, Indianapolis, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016. She was born in Indianapolis on August 13, 1925 to Denis F. and Georgia Anna Willoughby Morarity. Rosemary was a 1942 graduate of Immaculate Conception Academy in Oldenburg, IN and attended Marian College. She was a member of Hoosier Capital Girl Scout Council and was active in Girl Scouting in Shelby County for many years. She also was a volunteer for SCUFFY (Shelby County United Fund for You). She enjoyed fishing and nature. A beloved mother and grandmother, Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Earl C. Partain and is survived by her children, Don F. Partain (Sue), Sharon K. Tussinger (Jack), Kathleen S. Webb (Steven), Mary Anne Davis; grandchildren, Jeffrey Partain, Lori Gregoire, Matthew Partain, Eric C. Webb, Bruce C. Webb, Kaitlyn Davis, Reed Davis; and great grandchildren, Joshua Partain, Kyle Gregoire, Danielle Partain, Jessica Partain, Timothy Gregoire. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church with visitation at the church beginning at 9 a.m. Entombment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Richard M. Tex
Sunday, September 24, 1933 - Wednesday, September 14, 2016
Richard M. Tex, 82, Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016. He was born in Beech Grove, IN on September 24, 1933 to Marion C. and Bernice R. Walle Tex. Dick retired from the Indianapolis Fire Department as a Lieutenant in 1984 after 25 years of service. He also worked for Jenn-Air for 35 years retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 3660, Kevin Barry Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 4167, International Association of Firefighters, Indianapolis Professional Firefighters Local 416, and the Indianapolis Retired Firefighters Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Sheehan Tex; his parents; brothers, Jerry David, Kenny, Raymond, Vincent, and Larry. Dick is survived by his son, Kevin Tex; sister, Mary Tex; and his brothers, Michael, Thomas, and Ronald Tex. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home where prayers will be said on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. prior to Mass. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Michael John LaRosa

Michael John LaRosa, 62, Greenwood, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016. He was born in Beech Grove, IN on March 10, 1954 to Salvatore M. and Madeline M. Danna LaRosa. Michael owned and operated his own business working as a property manager leasing commercial business space. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Greenwood. Michael is survived by his wife, Dian LaRosa; children, Salvatore "Sonny" LaRosa (Sara), Tyler Sutton, Dylan Sutton (Sarah); grandchildren, James Allen Sutton, Landon Tyler Morgan-Sutton; sisters, Mary Lou Morrison, Josephine Ann Beck-Jennings (Bill), Antoinette Connolly (Ed), Frances Klene (Jim); and his brothers, Joseph, Salvatore (Ron), Paul (Kathy). He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jim Morrison; and his sister-in-law, Delores LaRosa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. in St. Mark Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. in Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home where prayers will be said on Monday at 10:30 a.m. prior to Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Mark Catholic Church.

Philip Douglas McQuade
Sunday, November 14, 1926 - Sunday, August 28, 2016
Philip Douglas McQuade, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away at Arlington Place on August 28, 2016. Beloved husband of Janet S; loving father of Brooke (Anders), Sydney, Alexandra (William) and Paula (Scott); beloved grandfather of Gabriel, Quinn, Philip, Zachary, Austin, Anna, Georgia and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Jessie McQuade; and brothers, Paul, Max and Jerry. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and attended Union College in Schenectady, New York where he was a star pitcher. Philip graduated from Union in 1950 and spent the next 35 years at RCA where he was manager of Employee Relations, retiring in 1986. Philip and his wife Janet moved to Shaftsbury, Vermont where he was an active member of the Shaftsbury Historical Society and St. James Episcopal Church prior to moving back to Indianapolis in 2011. He cherished his time in the outdoors and particularly enjoyed following the New York Yankees. Philip had a loving heart and was loved by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed. Visitation will be Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Indianapolis.

Don R. Jackson
Monday, December 3, 1923 - Thursday, August 18, 2016
Don R. Jackson, 92, of Beech Grove, passed away on August 18, 2016. Don grew up in Lafayette, IN and attended Lafayette Jefferson High School. Halfway through his senior year he joined the United States Marine Corps to serve his country. He was a WWII Veteran 2nd Marine Division and served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. Don worked in the printing industry and enjoyed woodworking, traveling across the United States especially to Florida or out West, and spending time with his family. He was loved by his family and will be greatly missed. Don is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Jan; children, Dan Jackson (Pat), Patti Kroetz (Greg), Vickie VanArsdale (Ed), Ken Kalal (Kristy), David Jackson (Chris), Amey Kalal; 10 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VA or to any animal rescue organization.
Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home.
