Shirley Ann Poole

Shirley Ann "Duck" Poole, 69, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at her residence.

Mrs. Poole was born on February 25, 1940 in Johnson County, Indiana the daughter of John and Minnie Pearl Hines Rockey. She married John Poole on June 1, 1968 in Vernon, Indiana. He survives.

Mrs. Poole worked for the former Excello Shirt Factory in Seymour, Indiana, and did babysitting. She attended Tea Creek Baptist Church in Lovett, Indiana. Her hobbies included playing cards, going to yard sales, riding motorcycles and her grandchildren.

Surviving with her husband are, one daughter, Cathy Gillis of North Vernon, Indiana; two brothers, Dick (Edna) Rockey of North Vernon, Indiana and Joe (Donna) Rockey of Englewood, Ohio; five sisters, Ruth Marksberry, Deloris "Billy" Dickson, Marilyn "Wig" Brown, Wilma (Bill) "Willie" Grider and Edna (Raymond) "Doodle" Ernestes all of North Vernon, Indiana; two grandson, John and Jake Gillis of North Vernon, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John Rockey and Robert "Bob" Rockey.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Anderson officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Thursday, December 9, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to Hospice of Jennings County.

Ronald Eugene Cline, Sr.

Ronald Eugene Cline, Sr. 67, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2009 at his residence in North Vernon, Indiana.

Mr. Cline was born on February 26, 1942 in Charleston, West Virginia the son of Homer and Ella Clarice Dye Cline. He married Sue Speer on April 21, 1978 in North Vernon, Indiana. She survives.

Mr. Cline worked in maintenance for Diamet Corporation in Columbus, Indiana retiring in 2005 after fifteen years. He had previously worked for seven years for North Vernon Forge and seven years as an attendant for the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center. He was a 1960 graduate of St. Albans High School in St. Albans, West Virginia. He was a member of First Christian Church in North Vernon, Indiana where he served as deacon. He formerly had volunteered for the American Red Cross. His hobbies included playing the guitar and singing, fishing, hunting and wood working.

Surviving with his wife are, two sons, Ronnie (Pat) Cline, Jr. of Portland, Maine and Kevin (Linda) Cline of North Vernon, Indiana; three daughters, Karen (Dave) Corya of Commiskey, Indiana, Annette Schmaus and Teresa (Jeffery) Riley both of North Vernon, Indiana; two brothers, Tommy Short of Florida and Russell Cline of Ohio; twelve grandson and nine granddaughters, three great-grandson and six great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Angie Palmer and Barbara Jenkins.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Bridgewater officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Hillcrest cemetery.

Memorial may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to Hospice of Jennings County.

Lillie M. Nardecchia

Lillie Mae Nardecchia, 77, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 10:29 a.m. on Friday, December 4, 2009, at Kindred Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Mrs. Nardecchia was born on June 24, 1932, in Pemiscot County, Missouri. She was the daughter of Steven and Ada Justina Meyers Miller. She married Joseph Nardecchia in 1989 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He preceded her in death in 2001.

Mrs. Nardecchia worked for both NAC in North Vernon, Indiana where she did factory and custodial work and Jennings Health Care Center in North Vernon, Indiana where she was Dietician; she retired in 2007 from these jobs. At one time she was a truck driver and she sold AVON. She was member of Tabernacle Revival Full Gospel Church in Clifford Indiana. Her hobbies included reading, fishing and mushroom hunting.

Survivors include one son Fred (Irene) Miller, Sr. of Jacksboro, Tennessee; two daughters, Ivy (Terry) Featherstone of Dauphin Island, Alabama and Joyce Eldridge of North Vernon, Indiana; four brothers, Glen (Mary) Simmons of Bryan, Texas, Wayne (Sue) Simmons of Oregon, Donny Simmons of Kokomo, Indiana and Charles Miller of Byhalia, Mississippi; one sister, Beulah Fleener of Memphis, Mississippi; six grandchildren, Fred Miller II, Eddie (Heather) Miller both of Jacksboro, Tennessee, Jason (Amanda) Fields, Eric Fields, James Wesley (Vanessa) Coy II all of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Ivan Eldridge of North Vernon, Indiana; eleven great-grandchildren including Dalton Eldridge of North Vernon, Indiana who she raised.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph; two brothers, Gene and Ivan Simmons; one sister, Virginia Lee Simmons.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Tabernacle Revival Full Gospel Church in Clifford, Indiana with the Rev. Eli Johnson officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the Tabernacle Revival Full Gospel Church in Clifford, Indiana. Burial will be in the Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery in Clifford, Indiana.

Memorial may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to Tabernacle Revival Full Gospel Church or American Cancer Society.

Manuel Eugene Durham, Jr.

Manuel Eugene Durham, Jr., 45, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 1:50 a.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon, Indiana.

Mr. Durham was born on March 27, 1964 in Georgetown, Ohio, the son of Manuel Eugene Durham, Sr. and Cora Lee Kelly.

Mr. Durham worked as a forger for 9 years for the North Vernon Drop, leaving in 2005 due to health issues. His hobbies included gardening, working on cars, building model cars, fishing, basketball, baseball, football, he was a Colts fan and he really loved listening to music.

Survivors include two sons, Joe Lynch of Seymour, Indiana and Michael Durham of Butlerville, Indiana; three daughters, Alicia and Maranda Durham and Amber (Thomas) Ball all of North Vernon, Indiana; one brother, Simon (Brenda) Messer of Butlerville, Indiana; two sisters, Diane (Clarence) Philpot of Butlerville, Indiana and Bernice (Clyde) Philpot of North Vernon, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Destiny Durham of Columbus, Indiana, MaKaylynn and Zohie Lynch both of Seymour, Indiana, Dezyrae Brooks of Butlerville, Indiana, Isaiah Gomez, Malachi and Josiah Eugene David Marshall and Conner Ball of North Vernon, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 7, 2009 at the Butlerville Cemetery in Butlerville, Indiana with the Rev. John Willis officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Monday, December 7, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.

Delbert William Bannister

Delbert William Bannister, 87, of Scipio, Indiana passed away at 4:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 26, 2009 at his residence in Scipio, Indiana.

Mr. Bannister was born on March 23, 1922 in Scipio, Indiana, the son of the late Edward William and Ethel Kehrt Bannister. He married Lucille Hill on November 27, 1946 in Hartsville, Indiana. She preceded him in death on August 25, 2001.

Mr. Bannister was a Supervisor for Arvin Industries in Columbus, Indiana he had worked there for 21 years. He owned and operated a Dairy Farm for 33 years. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre, serving from November 9, 1942 until October 31, 1945. He attended of Scipio Presbyterian Church in Scipio, Indiana, A member of Jennings County Historical Society, and Hayden Museum, a 50 year member of the Six Mile Masonic Lodge and a Past Patron and 50 year member of Hayden Chapter #253, Order of the Eastern Star. He was a former member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed hunting, wood working and farming.

Survivors include three sons, Warren D. (Linda) Bannister of Port Republic, Virginia, Roger W. (Stella) Bannister of Ruston, Louisiana, Thomas D. (Joan) Bannister of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; one daughter, Marsha L. Cline of Seymour, Indiana; his close companion Wilma Richart of Seymour, Indiana; ten grandchildren, Patrick (Alicia) Bannister of Crossett, Arkansas, Julie (Jeremy) Woods of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Sara (Cameron) Culbertson of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Laura Bannister of Seattle, Washington, Tim (Beckie) Cline of Indianapolis, Indiana, Joseph and Aaron Bannister of Port Republic, Louisiana, Emily, Mary and Nathaniel Bannister all of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Bannister and his sister, Pauline Shields.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009, at the Scipio Presbyterian Church in Scipio, Indiana with the Rev. Mitch Coggin officiating. Friends may call on Sunday, November 29, 2009 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana. A Masonic Service will be conducted by members of the Six Mile Masonic Lodge at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery with members of Matt Hester Post #2021, Veterans of Foreign Wars giving Military Graveside rites.

Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the Oak Grove Cemetery Association.

Zona Staton

Zona "Fugate" Staton, 89, of Vernon, Indiana passed away at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Jennings Health Care Center in North Vernon, Indiana.

Mrs. Staton was born on July 20, 1920 in Perry County, Kentucky, the daughter of Sam and Dora Jones Fugate. She married Welford L. "Bob" Staton on March 23, 1960 in Brownstown, Indiana. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1999.

Mrs. Staton worked as a machine operator for the former Regal Rugs in North Vernon, Indiana. She enjoyed embroidery and making quilts and being with family and friends.

Survivors include one son James (Judy) Coleman of North Vernon, Indiana; one brother, Ezra Fugate of North Vernon; one sister, Zola Slone of Vernon, Indiana; five grandchildren, Eddie, Terry and James Coleman, Jr. all of Commiskey, Indiana, Mike Worrell of North Vernon, Indiana and Vicki Barger of Columbus, Indiana; nine great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Thomas Fugate, half-brother, Bill Fugate and half-sister, Settie Fugate.

Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 7, 2009 at the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, Indiana. Her arrangements were in the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana.

Beverly E. Tando

Beverly E. Tando, 74, of Scipio, Indiana passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2009 at Jennings Healthcare Center in North Vernon, Indiana.

Ms. Tando was born on August 25, 1935 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Johnny and Margaret Johnson Tando.

Ms. Tando was a homemaker who spent her life taking care of her family.

Her hobbies included reading, cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, puzzles, playing cards and watching Garfield.

Survivors include one son, Nathan (Sharon) Ramey of North Vernon, Indiana; three daughters, Dickiey (Dan) Ginger of Seymour, Indiana, Marla (Randy) Wasson and Stephenie Boles both of North Vernon, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Melodie Ramey of Southport, Indiana, Amanda (Chuck) Kuhfahl of Nineveh, Indiana, Christina Ramey of Columbus, Indiana, Nanette Ginger and John (Angela) Ginger both of Seymour, Indiana, Jolene (Chris) Michael, Sam (Jena) Lander and Marcus Oglesby all of North Vernon, Indiana; ten great-grandchildren, Kerith Ginger, Sydney Peacock, Gloria Acton, Selena Voss, Mikayla, Brendon, Carter and Katelynn Michael, Hensley Kuhfahl, Kailey Ginger, Shawn and Cameron Lander, Preston Oglesby, Katie Fish and Kenzie Pack.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Albert Tando and Mickey Mullens; a sister, Mary Colvin.

A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2009 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jennings County, Indiana with the Rev. Bill Ramey officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana.

Family and Friends are welcomed at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2009 to the Queensville Community Church for a Memorial Service.

Memorial may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to Riley's Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Robert Lee Hamilton

Robert Lee Hamilton, 82, of Dillsboro, Indiana passed away at 6:55 p.m. on January 29, 2010 at The Waters of Dillsboro in Dillsboro, Indiana.

Mr. Hamilton was born on August 30, 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana the son of Leslie and Carrie May Muster Hamilton.

Mr. Hamilton is survived by his brother, Russell Hamilton, three sisters, Laverne L. Menten, Mary Jo Inman and Joyce Sutton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Dupont Cemetery.
