Lindsay Lake and Lennie Walters were married on June 25, 2005 at the Lenexa Baptist Church in Lenexa. The Rev. James Heaton officiated the ceremony. Parents of the couple are David Lake of Lawrence and Debbie Lake of Las Vegas, Nev., and Galen and Vickie Walters. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless silk “antique ivory” gown with a full-length body veil embellished throughout with crystals. She carried ivory roses and hot-pink gerbera daisies. Jennifer Maring of Salina served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Humprey of Salina, Alissa Ruffin of Overland Park, Joni Fink of Beattie and Tracy Lake of New York, N.Y. Bridesmaids wore periwinkle strapless A-line dresses and carried hot-pink gerbera daisies. Jerod Kruse of Marysville served as the best man. The groomsmen were Tom Taphorn of Beattie, Jacob Holle of Marysville, Leroy Krous of Beattie and Aaron Lake of Salina. Addison Eaton of Olathe and Brittany Fink of Marysville were the flower girls. Dawson Maring of Salina and Andrew Fink of Marysville were the ring bearers. Music was provided by Aaron Lake and Tracy Lake, soloists. Ushers were Daryl Fink of Marysville, Courtney Cassidy of Beattie, Craig Harries of Marysville and Josh Sturgis of Ellinwood. The bride-elect is a 1995 graduate of Salina South High School and a 1999 graduate of Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in education. She is currently a teacher in DeSoto schools in Shawnee. She is also working toward her master’s degree in school counseling. The prospective groom is a 1996 graduate of Marysville High School and a graduate of Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in business finance, as well as a bachelor of science degree. He is employed by First Line Security at Kansas City (Mo.) International Airport. The couple makes their home in Shawnee.
