Shayla Meier and Mike Satterlee were married on Oct. 29, 2005 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend. The Rev. Reggie Urban officiated the double-ring ceremony. Parents of the couple are Larry Teichmann and Rosie Meier of Great Bend, and Don and Dee Satterlee of Salina. Grandparents of the couple are Marie Meier of Hoxie, Mickey Teichmann of Great Bend, Leona Rose of Salina, and Paul and Marcie Satterlee of Macksville. The bride, given in marriage by her stepfather and mother, wore a gown by Maggie Sottero. It was an elegant white, matte-satin gown designed in a strapless princess silhouette, featuring a delicately beaded bodice atop a side-wrapped waist detail from which a panel of sheer illusion fell to the floor. Her semi-full princess skirt swept into its own chapel train, featuring an inset panel of sheer illusion scattered in blizzard beading. The bride wore a cathedral-length veil. Kari Meier of Manhattan served as the maid of honor, and Aimee Riegel of Lawrence served as the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Kruckenberg of Great Bend, Jessica Unrein of Overland Park, and Michele Satterlee of Salina. The bridesmaids wore navy, satin strapless gowns with A-line skirts. Josh Zeller of Mayetta and Jay Dean of Manhattan served as the best men. The groomsmen were Kevin Tilley of Hiawatha, Mike Walker of Manhattan, and J.J. Meier of Great Bend. Jordan Hartwell, cousin of the bride, Colby, was the flower girl. Chase Hartwell, cousin of the bride, Colby, was the ringbearer. Music was provided by organist Joyce Haberman and vocalists Jason Haberman and Lynee Habiger. Ushers were Matthew Miller of Salina, Doug Parks of Great Bend, Tyrel Miller of St. John, all cousins of the groom, and Eric Gerrman and Jared Todd both of Manhattan. The bride is a 2000 graduate of Great Bend High School and 2004 graduate of Kansas State University. She is a senior teller at Capitol Federal Savings in Manhattan. The groom is a 1997 graduate of Peabody/Burns High School and is currently attending Kansas State University. He is employed by Wal-Mart in Manhattan. The couple makes their home in Manhattan.
