Misty McDuff of Great Bend and Tyler Paul of Chapman, were united in marriage on July 22, 2006 at First United Methodist Church in Great Bend, with the Rev. Gary Brooks officiating the double-ring ceremony. Parents of the bride are Paul and Sharon Otter of Great Bend and Jaime and Shaila McDuff of Newton. Parents of the groom are Richard and Vicki Paul of Enterprise. Given in marriage by her fathers, the bride wore an elegant, diamond-white, satin gown styled in a strapless princess silhouette with delicate seed beads and crystals at the top of the bodice. The Maggie Sottero gown featured a lace-up corset back and a wrapped detail at the waist, accented by seed beads and crystals. Her semi-full ballroom skirt swept into its own chapel train with matching beadwork at the end of the train. She wore a finger-tip length veil trimmed in crystal bugle beads and a tiara of pearls and rhinestones. She carried a satin-wrapped hand-tied bouquet of pink roses. The matron of honor was Jamie Trible, sister of the bride, of Houston, Texas. Maid of honor was Tonya Martinez of Wichita. Bridesmaids were Amanda Bauman of Wichita, Cheryl Tolan of Great Bend, Angie Harrison of St. George, Casey Sump of Hays, and Nicole Chastain of Overland Park. Junior bridesmaid was Kaitlin Otter, sister of the bride, of Great Bend. The bridesmaids wore lipstick-pink satin gowns from the Jordan collection. The gowns were designed in a strapless silhouette, featuring a wrapped detail at the waist. They carried satin-wrapped hand-tied bouquets of pink-tipped ivory roses. Best man was Shane Paul, brother of the groom, of Harrisonville, Mo. Groomsmen were Aaron Paul, brother of the groom, of Waco, Texas, Drew Snitker of Manhattan, David Will of Seattle, Wash., Luke Waller and Dave Stucky both of Topeka. Flower girl was Madison Otter, sister of the bride, of Great Bend. Ring bearer was Dalton Shaw, cousin of the groom, of Ottawa. Ushers were Lance Rhodes, cousin of the bride, of Great Bend and Jeremy Bolinger of Emporia. Candle lighters were Brianne Rome of Wamego and Ashley Rome of Hays. Personal attendant was Adrienne Collins of Emporia. Soloist was Shane Paul, brother of the groom. Organist was Jean Book of Enterprise. The bride is a 1999 graduate of Great Bend High School, and a 2002 graduate of Barton County Community College with an associate’s degree in applied sciences. She is also a 2001 graduate of Sidney’s Hairdressing College. She is a cosmetologist at One With Earth Salon and Spa, in Topeka. The groom is a 2000 graduate of Chapman High School, and a 2004 graduate of Emporia State with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He is currently continuing his education at Washburn University School of Law. The couple reside in Topeka.
