Farmer - 50th
James W. and Nancy D. Farmer are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a card shower.
James W. and the former Nancy D. Brinson were married on June 19, 1955, at Hoisington.
The couple has lived most of their married life in Hoisington, Great Bend and Phoenix, Ariz.
Mr. Farmer is retired from Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, Ariz.
He was also self-employed with Jim’s Tree Service.
Mrs. Farmer is retired from the Arizona State Retirement in Phoenix and Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington.
The couple’s five children are: Anna Marie and husband, Randy Belford, of Saginaw, Texas; Nancy Jane and husband, Joe Bass, of Harrison, Ark.; Brenda Lee and Viktor Donetz of Bartlesville, Okla.; J.D. Farmer of Hoisington; and Jeri Lynn and Johnny Miller of Mesa, Ariz.
The couple also has 18 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.

Degenhardt - 50th
LeRoy and Marilyn Degenhardt of Great Bend celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 6, 2005.
LeRoy Degenhardt and the former Marilyn Gleissner were married June 6, 1955, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church at Olmitz by the Rev. A.L. Meyers, living in Great Bend the past 50 years.
Both are retired from the Fuller Brush Company.
Joining the celebration mass of thanksgiving and a family dinner were the couple’s children and their spouses: Kenneth and Cheryl Degenhardt of Garden City; Richard Lee and Mary Lou Degenhardt, Raymond and Cindy Degenhardt, Darlene and Merlin Stoss, David and Janet Degenhardt and Daniel and Mary Degenhardt all of Great Bend.
Grandchildren are Nathan, Jason, Derek, Eric, Andrew, Brook, Charlene, Nona, Natalie, Andrea, Alicia and Krisha.
Schwager - 25th
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Schwager of Great Bend will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. on June 12, 2005 at the Great Bend Senior Center.
Ronald Schwager and the former Michelle Hallett were united in marriage June 14, 1980, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church by the Rev. Charles Mazouch.
Children of the couple are Amanda Schwager, Adam Schwager and Erica Schwager of Great Bend and Erin Schwager of Topeka.
The couple has three grandchildren.
Parents of the couple are Luella Schwager of Great Bend and the late George Schwager, and Eugene and Carol Hallett of Great Bend.
