Gomez - 50th

Betty and Kenny Gomez are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on June 12, 2005 with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Chase Grade School Cafeteria in Chase.

The open house is hosted by their children and grandchildren.

Kenny Gomez and Betty Harms were married on June 11, 1955, in Lyons.

Mr. Gomez is retired from the oilfield and Mrs. Gomez is a retired registered nurse with the Lyons District Hospital.

The couple’s children are: Tony Gomez and wife Beverly of Aurora, Colo., Mike Gomez (deceased) and wife Nancy of Ellinwood, Chris Gomez and wife Lisa of Drumright, Okla., and Mary Ann Satterlee and husband Rob of Manhattan.

The couple also has nine grandchildren: Jenna, Eva, Alysia, Tyler, Stephanie, Austin, Tracy, Sloan and Mikaila.

Halbower - 50th

Don and Pat Halbower celebrated their 50th anniversary with family and friends at a reception, dinner and dance hosted by their three children and nine grandchildren on May 28, 2005 at the American Legion Post 180.

The former Pat Kramm and Don Halbower were married at the Methodist Church in Emporia on June 5, 1955, and have resided in Great Bend for 41 years.

Their children and their spouses are: David and Christy Halbower of St. Louis, Mo., Leslie and Doug Barrett of Great Bend, and Eric and Julie Halbower of Guilford, Conn.

Grandchildren attending were: Jessica and Justin Halbower of St. Louis, Tyler Barrett of Great Bend, Darah Jewell of Wichita, A1C Brandon Jewell and his wife, Elaina.

Brandon has just completed a tour of duty in Iraq with the Air Force and is now stationed on the East Coast.

Keltner - 25th

Pastor Andy and Debbie Keltner, formerly of Ellinwood, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on June 4, 2005.

Hosts of the celebration are their children, James, Joe, Katie and Kelsey.
