Hazel May Lyde Osenbaugh
TURON - Hazel May Lyde Osenbaugh, 86, died Feb. 5, 2000, at Hutchinson Hospital.

She was born Oct. 16, 1913, at Forgan, Okla., the daughter of Clarence and Edith Swan Freeman. She graduated from Sylvia High School. A Turon resident, formerly of Stafford, she had been a waitress at The Buffet, Stafford, and was a housekeeper for several homes in Turon.

On April 18, 1937, she married Gerald Ernest Osenbaugh at Sylvia. He died March 28, 1987.

Survivors include: four sons, Gary and Glen, both of Langdon, Galen, Hutchinson, and Melvin, Turon; three daughters, Lucille Thompson, Tahlequah, Okla., Donna Kelley, Lincoln, Ark., and Delores Killingsworth, Turon; a brother, Everett Freeman, Fair Oaks, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Garland; a brother, Robert Nelson Freeman; and two sisters, Mary Manwarren and Jenny Marshall.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Minnis Chapel, Stafford, with Pastor Jay Kelley presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Sylvia cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association, both in care of the funeral chapel.

Lizzie J. Troyer
YODER - Lizzie J. Troyer, 90, died Jan. 7, 2000, at Mennonite Friendship Manor, South Hutchinson.

She was born Feb. 7, 1909, at Yoder, the daughter of Jacob E. and Anna Miller Yoder. A lifetime Yoder area resident, she was a homemaker.

She belonged to Yoder Mennonite Church and was a member of the Women's Sewing Circle at the church, both at Yoder.

On Feb. 6, 1943, she married Ora Troyer at Yoder. He survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Lowell Troyer, Hutchinson, and Larry Kline (who they raised like a son, during his high school years), Wheatland, Calif.; a brother, Mosie Yoder, Wooster, Ohio; two sisters, Sarah Yoder, Hesston, and Rachel Bontrager, South Hutchinson; and two grandchildren, John Troyer and LaCinda Headings; and one great-grandson, Zachary Headings.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Tobie and Eddie Yoder; and two sisters, Polly Bontrager and Susie Schrock.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Yoder Mennonite Church, with the Revs. Peter Hartman and Dan Kauffman presiding. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Yoder Mennonite Church Friendship Hall. Burial will be in Yoder Mennonite Church cemetery, Yoder.

Memorials may be sent to the church or the Mennonite Friendship Manor, in care of Van Campen Funeral Home, Haven.

Larry Ray Pugh
Larry Ray Pugh, 52, died Jan. 28, 2000, at Hutchinson.

He was born Jan. 3, 1948, at Waverly, the son of Dallas H. and Thelma J. Jewett Pugh. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1966. A lifetime Hutchinson resident, he worked at Dillons Bakery for 24 years, retiring in August 1999.

He belonged to South Hutchinson United Methodist Church and Union Local No. 245.

On March 6, 1971, he married Sharon Parks at South Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Angela Janzen and Jennifer Pugh, both of Hutchinson; a granddaughter; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronnie.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Craig Hauschild presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until service time Monday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be sent to the church or to Hospice of Reno County, both in care of the funeral home.

Granville C. `Red' Davis
Granville C. "Red" Davis, 74, died Jan. 20, 2000, at Hutchinson Hospital.

He was born April 14, 1925, at Skiatook, Okla., the son of John G. and Blanche Symond Davis. He was a graduate of Beckley College, Beckley, W.Va. A Hutchinson resident for 54 years, moving from Tulsa, Okla., he worked in maintenance at the Hutchinson Post Office, was a mine inspector for the Mine Safety & Health Association and worked for the Barton/Cargill Salt Company, retiring in 1978.

He belonged to American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68, Hutchinson, the Disabled American Veterans, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

On Nov. 5, 1945, he married DeEtta Gilliland at Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Johnny L., Hutchinson; four daughters, Barbara Barringer, Jerrie A. Pitts, Linda K. Brown, and Theresa Salmans, all of Hutchinson; two brothers, Bill, Wichita, and Paul Ray, Rogers, Ark.; a sister, Ruth Stratton, Hutchinson; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Granville C. Jr.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Pastor Garald L. Salmans presiding. Graveside rites will be performed by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society or the DAV, both in care of the mortuary.

Marilyn Billee Bornholdt Parker
MARYSVILLE, Wash. - Marilyn Billee Bornholdt Parker, 68, died Feb. 8, 2000, at Everett, Wash.

She was born May 11, 1931, at Hutchinson, the daughter of Vernon and Edna Luty Bornholdt. She had been a resident of Snohomish County, Wash., for the past 22 years, moving from Tokyo, Japan.

Survivors include: husband, Loree Parker; two sons, Richard and Ken; a daughter, Sherri Parker; a brother, L.L. "Jim" Bornholdt; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral will at 10 a.m. today at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, Marysville, Wash. Burial will follow in the Marysville cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association, 4414 Woodland Park Avenue, Seattle, WA 98103.

Mildred L. Grady Ward
MALVERN, Pa. - Mildred L. Grady Ward, 94, formerly of Hutchinson and a retired Wichita schoolteacher, died Feb. 5, 2000.

She was born Nov. 1, 1905, at Hutchinson, the daughter of Joseph Martin and Maude Jane Davis Grady. She was a Hutchinson resident until 1934, when she moved to Lebanon.

She was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, a former member of First Methodist Church, Wichita, and belonged to the Order of Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron.

Survivors include: a daughter, Phyllis Ward Hettinger, Malvern; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East Chapel, Wichita. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary. Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Wichita.

Earl C. Pelton
CARLSBAD, N.M. - Earl C. Pelton, 82, died Jan. 6, 2000, at Carlsbad.

He was born Dec. 2, 1917, in Oilton, Okla. the son of Charles J. and Edith Stout Pelton. He grew up in Kansas, living in El Dorado, Ford County, and Rice County. He graduated from Raymond High School. He worked as a welder in the oil industry.

He belonged to Hillcrest Baptist Church, Carlsbad, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

On Aug. 28, 1944, he married Helen M. Hall at Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son; a brother; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Carlsbad, with burial following. Military honors will be conducted by the Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard.

Denton-Funchess Funeral Home, Carlsbad, N.M., is in charge of arrangements.

Charles A. `Chuck' Schrott
Charles A. "Chuck" Schrott, 64, died Feb. 11, 2000, at his home in Hutchinson.

He was born Aug. 14, 1935, at La Crosse, the son of Joseph Edward and Blanche L. Morgan Schrott. He graduated from La Crosse High School in 1953. A Hutchinson resident since 1961, he was a retired building superintendent for the Wiley Building, Hutchinson.

He attended South Hutchinson United Methodist Church and was a member of the Two Cylinder Tractor Club. He served in the U.S. Army during peacetime.

On May 5, 1962, he married Karen Althaus at Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Jodie Wright and Julie Main, both of Hutchinson; his mother, La Crosse; a brother, Buddie, Rush Center; a sister, Joyce Whittman, Meade; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at South Hutchinson United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Lee Louderback presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
