Gerald D. Love, 75, died Feb. 8 at Integrated Health Services of Woodhaven in Ellinwood. He was born March 29, 1925, in Cromwell, Okla., the son of Forest and Bertie Bryer Love. A resident of Great Bend, coming from Dimmitt, Texas, he was a plumber. Love was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend. Survivors include two sons, Rodger D. Love and Jack E. Love, both of Great Bend; one daughter, Bonnie L. Love of Great Bend; two brothers, Alvie Love of Boise City, Okla., and Elmer Love of Amarillo, Texas; one stepbrother, Ronnie Campbell of Ellendale, N.D.; one half-sister, Janet Langane of Dimmitt; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Bryant-Christians Funeral Home in Great Bend. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Angel Dy officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sylvia cemetery. Friends may call until 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.

G. Harold Borck 1915-2001
BLUE RAPIDS - G. Harold Borck, 85, died Feb. 9 at his home in Blue Rapids. He was born Nov. 12, 1915, at Blue Rapids, the son of George R. and Lulu B. Burnett Borck. He married Marjorie G. Yungeberg Dec. 24, 1943, at Irving. A resident of the Blue Rapids area, he was a farmer and stockman. Borck was a member of Blue Rapids United Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder and trustee; a 60-year member of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star in Blue Rapids and was active for several years on the Blue Rapids Housing Authority. He was also a member of the Kansas Livestock Association and a member of the Kansas State University President's Club. Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons and their wives, Lee and Kathy Borck and Fred and Sherry Borck, all of Manhattan, and two grandchildren and their spouses, Debi and Doug Bazzel, and Bailey and Raquel Borck. He was preceded in death by an infant sister and by a granddaughter, Tami Borck. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery, south of Blue Rapids. Friends may call until 8 p.m. Sunday at Terry Chapel and Funeral Home in Blue Rapids. Memorials are suggested to the church, in care of the funeral home.

B. Gail Rainbolt 1932-2001
B. Gail Rainbolt, 68, died Feb. 9 at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Rose Campus in Great Bend. He was born April 10, 1932, at Larned, the son of Cecil C. and Minnie K. Bernatzki Rainbolt. He married Cleota M. Dawley on July 12, 1950, at Spearville. A Great Bend resident, coming from Amarillo, Texas, in 1965, he was a retired vice president of Parts Inc. and a former employee at Waters True Value Hardware, both of Great Bend. Rainbolt was a member of Grace Community Church in Great Bend. Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Cecil L. Rainbolt of Larned, Clyde G. Rainbolt of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Craig L. Rainbolt of Flagstaff, Ariz.; four daughters, Cathi A. Clapham of Dallas, Texas, Cynthia M. White and Carolyn K. Mikesell, both of Great Bend, and Cheryl L. Hickel of Claflin; one brother, Henry Lee Rainbolt, of Paradise, Calif,; 13 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bryant-Christians Chapel with the Rev. Shawn Winters officiating. Burial will be at Great Bend cemetery. Friends may call from 1-9 p.m. Sunday and until service time Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society or the church, both in care of the funeral home.

Krista Rae Denning 1954-2001
MIDLOTHIAN, Texas - Krista Rae Denning, 46, died Feb. 9. She was born Oct. 23, 1954, in St. Joseph, Mo., the daughter of John D. and Nellie Roberts. A resident of Midlothian for 17 years, she was a nurse and health care director of nursing. Survivors include two sons, John S. Denning and Michael A. Denning, both of Midlothian; her mother, of Great Bend; one brother, Terrill D. Roberts of Panama City, Fla.; and one sister, Jonell Delacour of Independence. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Midlothian with the Rev. Rick Davis officiating. Burial will be at Midlothian cemetery. Friends may call until 8 tonight at Cowards Funeral Home in Midlothian.

Gertrude Piepmeier Reed 1910-2001
STAFFORD - Gertrude Piepmeier Reed, 90, died Feb. 9 at Somerset Health Center, Claridge Court in Prairie Village. She was born July 18, 1910, in Stafford, the daughter of William Thomas and Anna Gerdes Vice. She married Milton J. Piepmeier June 23, 1930, in Stafford. He died Oct. 12, 1963. She married Glenn E. Reed Oct. 28, 1971, in Hutchinson. He died March 25, 1993. A resident of Stafford, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Reed was a member of First United Methodist Church, P.E.O Chapter BK and North Star Community Club, all of Stafford, and a life member of the Women's Society of Christian Service. Survivors include three daughters, Kathryn Stoops of Flagstaff, Ariz., Carol Piepmeier of Overland Park and Arlene Finney of Shawnee; two stepsons, Raymond Reed of Arvada, Colo., and Ronald Reed of Lubbock, Texas; six grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 13 step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Eldon Vice; and three sisters, Aletha Smith, Bernita Reed and Wilma Jeane Hildebrand. Funeral will be at 2 today at Minnis Chapel in Stafford with the Rev. Kasey Crosby officiating. Burial will be at the Stafford cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Gertrude Piepmeier Reed Memorial Fund at the church, in care of the chapel.

Frieda Brack 1909-2001
OTIS - Frieda Brack, 91, died Feb. 11 at Integrated Health Services in Great Bend. She was born Sept. 17, 1909, in Bison, the daughter of Phillip and Mary Stang Kaiser. She married Lester A. Brack . He died Dec. 7, 1990. A resident of Otis, she was a farmwife. Mrs. Brack was a member of United Methodist Church in Otis. Survivors include one son, Dennis P. Brack of Santa Ana, Calif.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; four brothers; four sisters; and one grandson, Michael M. Brack. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church in Otis with the Rev. Kathy Bannister officiating. Burial will be at the Methodist cemetery in Otis. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Otis Emergency Medical Service or the church, both in care of the funeral home.

Courtney Lee Smith 1936-2001
MACKSVILLE - Courtney Lee Smith, 64, died Feb. 10 at Via Christi-St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita. He was born May 26, 1936, in Trousdale, the son of Alves B. and Eva Smith. He was a 1954 graduate of Trousdale High School. He married Nancy J. Smith Aug. 26, 1957, in Mayville, N.D. A resident of Macksville, he was a route fieldman for Panhandle Eastern Oil Pipeline Company. Smith was a member of Masonic Lodge in North Dakota. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in the Korean War. Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Kelly Schnable of Hugoton and Kimberly Nave of Lakin; five brothers, John Smith of Neodesha, Daniel Smith of Mulvane, James Smith of Woodward, Okla., Larry Hinderliter of Great Bend and Thomas Hinderlighter of Lyons; one sister, Charlotte Pickering of Kinsley; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Patsy Simms. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Macksville Christian Church in Macksville with the Rev. Carey Haner officiating. The body was cremated. Memorials are suggested to the church, in care of Minnis Chapel in St. John.

Ruby V. Neptune 1914-2001
CONCORDIA - Ruby V. Neptune, 86, died Feb. 10 at Cloud County Health Center in Concordia. She was born May 20, 1914, at Huscher, the daughter of Roy and Beulah Grout Revell. She was a 1932 graduate of Concordia High School. She married Floyd E. Neptune March 11, 1932, in Concordia. A lifetime resident of Concordia, she worked in the pharmacy of the former Gelvin-Haughey Medical Clinic in Concordia and as site manager for Concordia Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Neptune was a member of First Christian Church, Senior Citizens Center of Concordia and AARP. Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, Steven Neptune of Great Bend; one daughter, Eva Riggs of Fosston, Minn.; one brother, Harold Revell of Emporia; one sister, Elma Trost of Concordia; three half-brothers, Alvin Revell of Navarri, Fla., Gerald Revell of Wyoming and Leroy Revell of Oswego; two half-sisters, Marilyn McGlasson of Harveyville and Vera Hubbard of Parsons; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbur Revell and Chester Revell; one sister, Dorothy Cibes; and one stepsister, Thelma Tate. Funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. John States officiating. Burial will be at Nelson cemetery in Huscher. Family will receive friends from 7-9 tonight at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to Concordia Senior Citizens Center or Life Line at Cloud County Health Center, both in care of the funeral chapel.

Rose L. Herrman Johnson 1926-2001
WORCESTER, Mass. - Rose L. Herrman Johnson, 74, died Feb. 8 at University of Massachusetts Memorial Hospital in Worcester. She was born May 18, 1926, in Liebenthal, the daughter of Leo and Rosalia Legleiter Herrman. She married John J. Kelleher in 1945 at Worcester. He died in 1963. She married Calvin Johnson in 1968. He died Sept. 9, 1998. A resident of Worcester, coming from Kansas, she was a retired licensed practical nurse. Survivors include one son, Dan Kelleher of Worcester; one sister, Florine Daubert of Great Bend; one stepbrother; four stepsisters; four grandchildren; several stepchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerome Herrman, Julius Herrman and Gilbert Herrman; and her twin sister, Mary Hooper. Funeral Mass was today at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Worcester. Burial was at St. John's cemetery in Worcester. Athy Memorial Home in Worcester was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Bertha Randa 1911-2001
LA CROSSE - Bertha Randa, 90, died Feb. 8 at Rush County Memorial Hospital in La Crosse. She was born Jan. 25, 1911, in Rush County, the daughter of Lorenz and Katherine Legleiter Kuhn. She married Chris Randa Feb. 29, 1929, in Liebenthal. He preceded her in death. A lifetime resident of Rush County, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Randa was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and St. Joseph's Altar Society, both of Liebenthal. Survivors include one daughter, Lillian Draney of Great Bend; two brothers, Adolph Kuhn of Manteca, Calif., and Harry Kuhn of Carson City, Nev.; one sister, Regina Schmidt of Brighton, Colo.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Berthold Kuhn, William Kuhn, Felix Kuhn, Ben Kuhn and Mike Kuhn; and one sister, Minnie Herrman. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Janousek Funeral Home in La Crosse, followed by an Altar Society rosary at 7:30 p.m. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at the Liebenthal cemetery. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Bertha Randa Memorial, in care of the funeral home.

Dorothy L. Stutenroth 1914-2001
ELLINWOOD - Dorothy L. Stutenroth, 86, died Feb. 11 at Integrated Health Services in Great Bend. She was born Sept. 7, 1914, in Fredonia, the daughter of Herbert and Clara Siler Miller. She was a 1932 graduate of Fredonia High School. She married Oscar L. Stutenroth June 20, 1937. He died Jan. 29, 1982. A longtime resident of Ellinwood, she taught knitting at Sears and was a retired receptionist for doctors Holt, Preston and Peck. Mrs. Stutenroth was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Altar Guild and the church choir, all of Ellinwood, P.E.O. and Eastern Star. Survivors include one son, David L. Stutenroth of Lawrence; one brother, Kenneth Miller of Tulsa, Okla.; and two sisters, Leona Bohannon of Wichita and Marie Tyler of Colorado Springs, Colo. Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church in Ellinwood with the Rev. Larry Young officiating. Burial will be at Lakin-Comanche District cemetery in Ellinwood. Friends may call until 8 tonight at Kimple Funeral Home in Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to the church or Christ Choir Fund, both in care of the funeral home.

Elmer F. Hill 1920-2001
HOISINGTON - Elmer F. Hill, 80, died Feb. 12 at Integrated Health Services in Great Bend. He was born Nov. 13, 1920, in Baker, the son of Frank Ebberly and Eva Bindel Hill. He married Elsie M. Moeder July 26, 1948, in Hoisington. She died May 15, 1974. A resident of Hoisington, coming from Goodland, he was a machine operator for Sherman County. Hill was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 1521, both of Hoisington and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Goodland. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. Survivors include four sons, E. David Hill of Great Bend, John Hill of San Diego, Calif., Peter Hill and Timothy Hill, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Mary Channell of Jetmore, Kathleen McFarren of Great Bend and Elizabeth Edwards of Wamego; four brothers, LeRoy Hill of Charleston, S.C., Albert Hill of Peru, Iowa, Ivan Hill of Garnett and Herman Hill of Greeley, Colo.; two sisters, Norma McDonald of Garnett and Alice Marie Climer of Lawrence; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Chuck Hill; and two sisters, Agnes Sutton and Helen Hill. Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary, both at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church in Hoisington with the Rev. Pascal Klein officiating. Burial will be at St. John cemetery in Hoisington with flag presentation. Friends may call until 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, both at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the church, Knights of Columbus Council 1521 or ALzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association, all in care of the funeral home.

Brad Schmitt 1945-2001
REEDSPORT, Ore. - Brad Schmitt, 55, died Feb. 10 after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. He was born June 22, 1945, in Great Bend. He was a 1963 graduate of Rancho Alamitos High School. He was a 1968 graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara. A resident of Reedsport, he was a graphic artist and architectural model builder. He later worked in power plant operation and lift maintenance. Schmitt was a U.S. Navy veteran serving abroad supply ships in the Western Pacific and off Vietnam. Survivors include his mother, Elaine Schmitt; and one brother, Barry Schmitt. Dunes Memorial Chapel in Reedsport is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Elizabeth Louise Bamberger Bradley 1943-2001
JETMORE - Elizabeth Louise Bamberger Bradley, 57, died Feb.13 at Hodgeman County Health Center in Jetmore. She was born Oct. 7, 1943, in Stillwater, Okla., the daughter of John and Virginia Cook Kelty. She married Norman Bamberger in 1961, in Jetmore. She married Willmore Bradley in 1983, in Leavenworth. A longtime resident of Jetmore, coming from the Kansas City and Leavenworth area, she was a mental health service worker. She had a degree in addiction counseling, worked with mentally disabled adults, taught adoption educational workshops for Lutheran Social Services, and taught a Presbyterian Youth Group. Mrs. Bradley was a member of United Presbyterian Church in Jetmore. Survivors include three sons, Nick Bamberger of Minneapolis, Minn., Robert Bamberger of Des Moines, Iowa, and Mathew Bamberger of Jetmore; seven daughters, Amy Fagen and Jessie Bland, both of Jetmore, Patricia Schwab of Leoti, Shelia Bamberger of Florida, Laurie Richardson of Leavenworth, Maggie Chappel of Kansas City and Molly Bamberger of Boston, Mass.; her father, John Kelty of Larned; one brother, John Kelty Jr. of Larned; and 12 grandchildren. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church in Jetmore with the Revs. Mitch Reece and Jo Clipson officiating. Burial will be at the Fairmont cemetery in Jetmore. Friends may call until 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Beckwith Funeral Home in Jetmore. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life or Hodgeman County Health Center, all in care of the funeral home.
