COLUMBUS — Fred C. Heistand, 81 of rural Columbus, KS died at 3:10
pm, Sunday July 26, 2009 at St. John’s Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at the Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home with Rev. Herb Parsons officiating. Burial will follow
at the ParkCemeteryin Columbus. Family will receive friends at the
funeral home from 7-8 pm Tuesday evening; friends may also call after 3
pm Tuesday at their own convenience.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of
the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Columbus.

SCAMMON - Damion Poe, 11 months of Scammon, KS died 10:27am
Saturday, July 25, 2009 at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin,
MO following an accident.
Damion was born August 20, 2008 in Miami, OK the son of Jesse and
Jacqueline "McCracken" Poe.
Survivors included his parents, siblings Jesse, Christian and James Poe
all of the home; paternal grandmother Vicki Poe; maternal grandmother
Lisa Martin and maternal grandfather Michael Lankey; and nurmerous
cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather James Poe.
Funeral services will be 10am Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at the
Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus, KS with Rev. Chris Bigness
officiating. Burial will follow at the St. BridgetCemeteryin Scammon, KS.

CHEROKEE — Victory R. Williams 63, of Cherokee, KS died 10:10 a.m.
Tuesday July 21, 2009 at his home following a long illness.
Victory was born August 14, 1945 in Belfonte, Arkansas to Floyd Haskell
and Faye Modiena “McDonald” Williams. He was a lifelong resident of
the area and attended area schools in Labette County.
In 1964 Victory married Martha Irene Madison in Parsons, KS; they later
divorced. Victory was in the trucking business and worked for Smith Post
Yard Trucking.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cherokee, KS. He loved
his trucking, dog, his yard and most of all his family.
Survivors include his daughter Tammy Cook and husband Matthew of
Chanute, KS; siblings Kathleen Weaver of Rogers, Arkansas, Don
Williams of Joplin, Missouri, Betty Smith of Yates Center, Kansas, Pearl
Denney of Chetopa, Kansas, and Sue Schomaker of Hutchinson,
Kansas; grandson Derrik Cook of Chanute, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Kenneth Williams,
Fleeta Hoag and James Williams.
Per family wishes private committal services will take place at a later date
at Yates CenterCemeteryin Yates Center, Kansas. In lieu of flowers the
family ask expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the
First Baptist Church in Cherokee, KS. Arrangements are by Bath-Naylor
Funeral Home of Pittsburg, Kansas.

CHEROKEE — Julius H. Reif, 68 of Cherokee, KS died at 11 a.m.
Sunday July 19, 2009 at his home in Cherokee.
He was born April 17, 1941 in Hoisington, KS the son of Louis and Anna
E. (Depiesse) Reif. He has been a resident of the Cherokee area for the
past 40 years moving from Havana, IL
Julius was a 1959 graduate of Hoisington, KS High School. He was a
veteran of the United States Army and discharged in 1967.
He married Sheila McMillian on April 8, 1967 in Pratt, KS she survives at
the home.
Julius worked for 40 years for Harvest Brand retiring in 2005. He became
the owner-operator of JR Tires in Cherokee and worked until his health
no longer permitted.
He was a member of St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Scammon and the
Knight of Columbus local lodge #3316.
Survivors include his wife of the home; children Lisa Brown of Columbus,
Stephanie Taylor of Robinson, IL Julius “Butch” Reif of Girard;
Granddaughters Jaide and Brooke Taylor, Macy and Carly Reif; son-in-
laws Matt Taylor and Jim Brown, daughter-in-law Mary Reif; and 2
brothers Robert L. and Marvin D. Reif both of Wichita. He was preceded
in death by his parents.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday July 23, 2009
at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Scammon with Father Chrysostom Ah
Maung as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Anthony’sCemeteryin
Weir. The parish rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the
Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Weir where the family will receive friends
following the rosary until 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions can be made to Angels Among
Us or to the St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Memorials may be brought by or
mailed to the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 104 W. Main St. Weir, KS 66781.

E. Louise McNeely, 70 of Pittsburg, KS died at 8:30 am Saturday, July 18,
2009 at the Medicalodge South in Pittsburg.
She was born Nov. 15, 1938 in Bradford, AR the daughter of James T.
and Frances (Talyor) Hollon. She was raised by her mother and
step-father Offa Jones.
On April 24, 1956 she was united in marriage to Jimmie Dale McNeely in
Pittsburg, he preceded her in death.
She was a lifetime area resident except for a few years in Kansas City.
Louise was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter Anita Geier of Girard; two sisters Carolyn
Brooks and Helen Allen, both of Pittsburg; a granddaughter Trisha Geier
Carter and her wife Lynn Carter of Girard; a grandson Jace and his wife
Amy Geier also of Girard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Offa Jones,
Husband, one brother James Hollon and one sister JoAnne Hollon.
No services are planned at this time.
Memorials may be made to the Medicalodge South
Resident Counsel Fund in Pittsburg; these may be left at or mailed to the
funeral home. Cremation arrangements are by the Bath-Naylor Funeral
Home 522 S. Broadway, Pittsburg, KS

PITTSBURG — Tony Procacci, 83 of Pittsburg died at 3:53 p.m.
Saturday July 11, 2009 at the Mount Carmel Regional Medical Center in
Pittsburg.
He was born December 10, 1925 in Pittsburg, KS the son of Ralph and
Josephine (Venardi) Procacci. Tony attended elementary school in
Chicopee, KS; was a 1943 graduate of Girard High School and went on
to receive his Bachelors degree in Accounting from Rockhurst College in
Kansas City, MO.
Tony was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War, serving his
country in both the Army and Naval Branches.
He married Ethel Martin on August 9, 1952 in Bentonville, AR; she
preceded him in death on April 28, 1999.
Tony worked for 32 years for the Bendix Corporation in Kansas City, MO;
following his retirement in 1994 he and Ethel returned to the Pittsburg
area.
Survivors include a daughter Carolyn Raymond and husband David of
Northville, MI; a grandson Chris Lundine and wife Kimberly of Overland
Park, KS who helped provide for his care; seven additional grandchildren
and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents
and wife.
Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday July 15 at the Garden
of MemoriesCemeteryin Pittsburg with Reverend Kevin Arensman
officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Fort Riley funeral
honors detail team. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until
noon on Wednesday at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg; the
procession to thecemeterywill leave the funeral home at 12:15 p.m.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
Memorials may be brought by or mailed to the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home
522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS 66762.

PITTSBURG — Marguerett (Fowler) McCool 67, of Pittsburg, KS died 7:
20 p.m., Tuesday July 7, 2009 at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center
following a short illness.
Marguerett was born November 18, 1941 in Arcadia, KS the daughter of
John and Henrietta (Garton) Fowler. She was a lifelong resident of the
area and attended area schools in Arcadia.
On May 2, 2003 she married Terry McCool in Miami, OK; he survives at
the home. She worked most recently at Envision in Pittsburg, KS. Some
of her other occupations however included a cook at various nursing
homes. Marguerett was of the Christian Faith and family was the most
important thing in her life.
Survivors include daughters Cindy Gibbens of North Carolina and Eve
Allen of Girard, KS; a special niece Mary Ceselski and husband David of
Shawnee, KS and 9 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Graveside Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday July 14, 2009 at the
SheffieldCemeteryin Arcadia, KS with Rev. Don Foster officiating. In
lieu of flowers the family ask expressions of sympathy be in the form of
memorials to the Donor’s Choice.
Arrangements and services are under the direction of
Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Pittsburg, KS.
