Susie Schmidt
MONTEZUMA - Susie Schmidt, 87, died Feb. 7, 2000, at Bethel Home Inc., Montezuma.

She was born Nov. 11, 1912, at Durham, the daughter of Sam J. and Minnie Schmidt Schmidt. A resident of Montezuma since 1917, residing at Bethel Home, she was a homemaker.

She belonged to Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Montezuma.

On March 8, 1936, she married Elmer B. Schmidt at Montezuma. He survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Melvin, Cyrus, Minn.; a daughter Margaret Brandt, Halstead; a brother, Henry Schmidt, Montezuma; four sisters, Alice Smith, Alma O. Dirks and Dorothy Schmidt, all of Montezuma, and Irene Dirks, Wilcox, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Clara Schmidt; two brothers, an infant and LeeVern Schmidt; and two infant sisters.

Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Montezuma, with Ministers Charles Schmidt, Edwin Classen and Glen Yost presiding. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Montezuma Funeral Home. Burial will be in North Mennonite Cemetery, Montezuma.

Memorials may be sent to Bethel Home Inc. in care of the funeral home.

Marie Bollig
SPEARVILLE - Marie Bollig, 86, died Feb. 6, 2000, at her home.

She was born Oct. 7, 1913, at Spearville, the daughter of J.W. and Clara Klenke Shean. She graduated from Spearville High School. A lifetime Spearville resident, she was a nurses aide at Spearville District Hospital for many years.

She belonged to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella, both at Spearville.

On June 25, 1935, she married Al Bollig at Spearville. He died Aug. 28, 1962.

Survivors include: a daughter, Shirley Moritz, Spearville; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Vigil service will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Spearville. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Robert Schremmer presiding. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Spearville.

Memorials may be sent to the Spearville Senior Center or the Make a Wish Foundation, both in care of the funeral home.

Geraldine Ann Ewing
LARNED - Geraldine Ann Ewing, 77, died Feb. 6, 2000, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.

Everett Clarence Bondurant
GREAT BEND - Everett Clarence Bondurant, 87, died Feb. 7, 2000, at Great Bend.

He was born Nov. 28, 1912, in rural Bazine, the son of Guy L. and Nona Emma Woolard Bondurant. He graduated from Bazine High School in 1933. A Great Bend resident since 1936, formerly living in Ness County, he was employed for 41 years as supervisor in the sausage room at Theis Packing of Great Bend.

He belonged to Central Baptist Church and was a 33rd-degree Mason.

On Sept. 21, 1991, he married Emma Lou Miller Korf at Great Bend. She survives.

Other survivors include: a stepson, Larry Korf, Burdett; a brother, Ted Bondurant, Big River, Calif.; a sister, Opal Trauer, Dodge City; five step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Bondurant; a brother, Laurel; and a sister, Mabel Schaben Murphy.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Faith Community Church, with the Rev. Fred Kirkpatrick presiding. Visitation will be at the home, 2001 Van Buren, Great Bend, from noon to 8 p.m. today, and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, and at the church from 1 p.m. to service time Wednesday. Burial, with Masonic rites, will be in Hanston City Cemetery.

JoAnn Archer Bradshaw
GREAT BEND - JoAnn Archer Bradshaw, 42, of Great Bend, died Feb. 5, 2000, at Hutchinson.

She was born April 24, 1957, at Great Bend, the daughter of William Edson and Margaret Emma Seitz Archer. She attended St. Patrick's School and graduated from Great Bend High School in 1976. A lifetime Great Bend resident, she was a supervisor for Sunflower Diversified Services and the Great Bend Recreational Department, working with physically challenged people.

She belonged to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Great Bend.

On Nov. 13, 1976, she married Darrell Gene Bradshaw at Great Bend. He survives.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Christina Irene Bradshaw, of the home; a brother, Edson Dean Archer, Great Bend; mother, Great Bend; and a sister, Theresa Marie Depperschmidt, Arlington.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today at Fryberger Mortuary Chapel, Great Bend. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the mortuary, with the Rev. Warren Stecklein presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the mortuary. The family will be present to greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today.

Memorials may be sent to the JoAnn Bradshaw Memorial Fund, in care of the mortuary.

Lola Mae Kreis
LYONS - Lola Mae Kreis, 78, died Feb. 6, 2000, at Lyons District Hospital.

She was born Nov. 28, 1921, in Ness County, the daughter of Alpha and Alice Gordon Howard. She graduated from Ness City High School in 1939. A Lyons resident since 1955, formerly of Wichita, she was a homemaker.

On March 22, 1942, she married Ralph Kreis at Wichita. He survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Steven, Lyons; a foster daughter, Patty Gregg, Nickerson; a brother, Ben Howard, Merced, Calif.; two sisters, Lois Gunter, Wichita, and Audrey Collins, Hutchinson; two grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by a brother, William W. "Bill" Howard; and a sister, Dorothea Underwood.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons, with the Revs. Gary Karas and Verrell Leeper presiding. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lyons Municipal Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church or Park Place, both in care of the funeral home.

Sylvia S. Janousek
ELLSWORTH - Sylvia S. Janousek, 92, died Feb. 6, 2000.

Frederick E. Muth
VERNAL, Utah - Frederick E. Muth, 80, died Feb. 4, 2000, at his home.
