George L. 'Ned' Hutter
CHANUTE - George L. 'Ned' Hutter, 85, died Feb. 15, 2000, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center, Chanute.
He was born Nov. 20, 1914, at Cherryvale, the son of George J. and Mary Kupky Hutter. He graduated from Cherryvale schools. A former Hutchinson resident, he was the owner and operator of Hutter Imports, El Paso, Texas.
He served in the U.S. Navy for 13 years.
On Jan. 9, 1978, he married May Ann Osborn Harding at El Paso. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Lester Dale and Derek, both of Washington; five stepsons, Tim, Gary and Dennis Harding, all of Chanute, Clay Harding, Buffalo, and Randy Harding, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and many grandchildren.
A private memorial service followed cremation.
Johnson Mortuary, Chanute, was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Mohn
DURHAM - Mary Mohn, 87, died Feb. 20, 2000, at Burlingame.
She was born Aug. 29, 1912, at Lost Springs, the daughter of George and Katie Brunner Laubhan. A Burlingame resident, formerly of the Durham area, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to Durham Baptist Church.
On Nov. 16, 1935, she married Harvey Mohn at Marion. He died in 1984.
Survivors include: a son, Calvin, Burlingame; a sister, Leona Ewert, Haysville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Durham Baptist Church, with Pastor Milton Zeeb presiding. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hillsboro Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Durham Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the church in care of the funeral chapel.

Carole B. Speck
GREAT BEND - Carole B. Speck, 62, died Feb. 20, 2000, at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Rose Campus, Great Bend.
She was born July 26, 1937, at Oklahoma City, the daughter of Max E. and Virginia Olga Cook Behymer. A Great Bend since May 1999, moving from Huntington Beach, Calif., she was a real-estate agent.
Survivors include: her mother, Virginia O. Gross, Great Bend.
There will be no visitation or funeral service.
Memorials may be sent to the Great Bend Humane Society Building Fund, in care of Bryant-Christians Funeral Home, Great Bend.

Rose Mary Burgardt
GARDEN CITY - Rose Mary Burgardt, 74, died June 22, 2000, at her home in Garden City.
She was born March 5, 1926, at Chicago, the daughter of Anton and Blanche Laura Weigel Brungardt. A Garden City resident since 1932, moving from Victoria, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, all at Garden City.
On July 10, 1943, she married Gregory Knoll at Garden City. He died Nov. 8, 1944. On Sept. 3, 1946, she married Peter William Burgardt, at Garden City. He died April 5, 1998.
Survivors include: two sons, Mike, Tacoma, Wash., David, Garden City; four daughters, Janet Linenberger, Patricia Briggs, Laurie Gerber, all of Garden City, Coleen Ortiz-Burgardt, Logan, Utah; brother, Allen Quint, Salinas, Calif.; six sisters, Barbara Harrington, Louise Wasinger, both of Garden City, Lillian Tatro, Commerce City, Colo., Jane Handy, Las Vegas, Jean Dunnam, Carol Barton, both of Garden City; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlotte Quint and Mildred McCaslin.
Vigil service will be 7:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Garden City. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with Father James Baker presiding. Friends may call noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Garden City. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Garden City.
Memorials may be sent to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund, or to the St. Catherine Home Health and Hospice, both in care of the funeral home.

Harold Howard Barker
GARDEN CITY - Harold Howard Barker, 88, died June 21, 2000, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
He was born March 18, 1912, at Raymond, the son of George H. and Bertha M. Bryant Barker. A resident of Garden City since 1936, moving from Hutchinson, he was the former owner and operator of Welder's Supply Co., and later retired from Western Alfalfa.
He was a member of the VFW and Fraternal Order of Eagles, at Garden City. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
In May 1947, he married Patricia A. Lundblade at Cimarron. She survives.
Other survivors include: four sons, Gary and Dean, both Garden City, Terry, Rio Rancho, N.M., and Keith Allen, Blue Springs, Mo.; five daughters, Ginger Toben, McPherson, Sandy Smith, Scott City, Dorothy Huff, Garden City, Wanda Jones, Alton, Ill., and Brenda Barker, Fort Collins, Colo.; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers; five sisters; and three grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, with the Rev. Randy Caddell presiding. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Garden City Area Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Garden City.
Memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home.

Glenn A. Bagley
CARLSBAD, N.M. - Glenn A. Bagley, 92, died June 22, 2000, at Lakeview Christian Home, Carlsbad, N.M.
He was born March 1, 1908, at Stafford County, the son of Ellsworth Leroy and Mattie Birdie Krey Bagley. He attended Great Bend Commercial College, Great Bend, and was a building contractor for eight years at Lubbock, Texas. He returned to the Zenith area and farmed until retiring in 1977. In 1979, he moved to Carlsbad, N.M., from Dodge City.
He was a member of Sylvia Church of Christ, Zenith.
On March 1, 1930, he married Gladys V. Hornbaker. She died in April 1996. They were married for 66 years.
Survivors include: a son, Homer Glenn, Flower Mound, Texas; daughter, Mary Samoa Hughes, Carlsbad, N.M.; brother, Wendell Bagley, Wichita; two sisters, Lucille Mills, Stafford, and Margaret Parker, Edmond, Okla.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Church of Christ, Carlsbad, N.M.
Memorials may be sent to Lakeview Christian Home of the Southwest, Carlsbad, in care of Denton-Funchess Funeral Home, Carlsbad, N.M.

Helen L. Mott
KIOWA - Helen L. Mott, 80, died June 21, 2000, at her home in Kiowa.
She was born Oct. 20, 1919, west of Cherokee, Okla., the daughter of Henry and Dorothy Huddleston Diel. A lifetime Kiowa area resident, she was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Christian Church at Kiowa.
On July 24, 1938, she married John Franklin Mott at Cherokee. He died Aug. 8, 1968.
Survivors include: three sons, Fred, Kiowa, Stephen, Wichita, and Roger, Hutchinson; two daughters, Deanna Wetzel, Wichita, and Darlene Cloyd, Burlington, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, and two infant grandsons.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, Kiowa. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today at Fisher Funeral Home, Kiowa. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to Kiowa Historical Society, Kiowa Public Library, or the donor's choice, all in care of the funeral home.

Max M. Mater
GREAT BEND - Max M. Mater, 84, died June 21, 2000, at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Rose, Great Bend.
He was born Feb. 24, 1916, at Olmitz, the son of Maximilian and Anna M. Krestin Mater. A Great Bend resident since 1996, moving from Olmitz, he was a retired employee of Great Bend Feeding Co. Inc., Great Bend.
He belonged to St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Perpetual Adoration Group at Central Kansas Medical Center, both at Great Bend, the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2100, Olmitz, was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7428, Hoisington, and was a former member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Olmitz.
Survivors include: four sisters, Mary M. and Agnes Mater, both of Great Bend, Sister Teresita Mater, St. Paul, Minn., and Sister Angela Mater, Wichita; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Alfons, Frank, James and Leo C.; and three sisters, Lily Behr, Anna T. Mater and Sister Maxine Mater.
Wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Olmitz, with Fathers Ultan Murphy and Warren Stoecklein presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the Max M. Mater Fund, in care of the funeral home.

Clair Dierks
LEOTI - Clair Dierks, 73, died June 20, 2000, at Wichita County Hospital, Leoti.
He was born July 4, 1926, at Haven, the son of E.H. and Augusta Joy Rupp Dierks. A Leoti resident since 1930, he was a farmer.
He belonged to First Baptist Church, Leoti.
On March 28, 1948, he married Iona Mae Tatman at Madison. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Harold, Ogallala, Neb., and Mark, Garden City; two daughters, Jana Simon, Marienthal, and Ruth Ritter, Leoti; brother, Connie Dierks, Leoti; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a sister and a grandson.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Leoti, with the Rev. Rick Woolard presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Leoti. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the Leoti EMTs or the American Heart Association, both in care of the funeral home.
