Roberta Stacy

“I am a flower quickly fading, here today and gone tomorrow. A wave tossed in the ocean. A vapor in the wind. Still You hear me when I’m calling. Lord, You catch me when I’m falling. And You’ve told me who I am. I am Yours, I am Yours.”

Roberta Stacy, of Buskirk, a precious humble soul who gave of herself and asked nothing in return, an unseen hero in so many cases, and the beloved-cherished sister of Glenna Stacy who survives her, also of Buskirk, was suddenly called into the sweet peaceful rest of her precious Lord on Thursday evening, Feb. 4, 2016, at her home, at the age of 63.

James 4:14 KJV Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away; for Roberta knew this to be all so true, that life for certain was but a vapor, as the fog rests on the water during the early morning hours and gently fades, a majestic beauty one of God’s unique mystic creations, such is our life, but a vapor, may we learn from Roberta’s example of doing unto others as she did, for we do not know when the fog will be lifted as the sun rises to call us in the peaceful rest of His eternal majestic beauty.

Roberta graduated from Matewan High School in 1970 and furthered her education at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College and then completed her degree as an economics services supervisor at Marshall University. Roberta then went on to work for the Mingo County Department of Health and Human Resources “DHHR” for 40 years as an economics services supervisor, having retired July 1, 2014.
