Opal Marie Harris - age 45 of Forest Hills, KY passed away Tuesday; January 3, 2012 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, KY. Born June 10, 1966 in Welch, WV; she was the daughter of the late Virginia Ruth Webb.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her fiancee Elmer Ray Spence of Delbarton, WV; 2 sons Matt (Christy) Harris of Ragland, WV and Adam Harris of Delbarton, WV; 2 brothers Kenneth Webb of North Carolina and Bill Sampson of Man, WV; and 1 grandson Owen Harris.

Per the family's request, the body will be cremated and no services will be held.

Sally (McCoy) Grace

Sally (McCoy) Grace - age 50 of Louisa, KY formerly of Hatfield, KY passed away Friday; December 23, 2011 at the Pikeville Medical Center following a long battle with colon cancer. Born September 3, 1961 at Logan, WV; she was the daughter of the late Delman and Ollie Mae Gillman McCoy.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 nephews Brian Christopher McCoy and Delman McCoy III and a sister-in-law Brenda (Duncan) McCoy.

Survivors include her husband Blain Terry Grace; 4 sisters Mary Alice (Don) Givens, Lummie (Robert) Rogers, Diana (Charles) Williamson, and Delma (W.T.) Thomas; 4 brothers John (Rachel) McCoy, Delman "Cheyanne" (Teresa) McCoy, Devada Mccoy, and James (Lisa) McCoy; 20 nieces and nephews, 22 great-nieces and nephews, and 1 great-great-nephew.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday; December 29, 2011 at 12:00 P.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Elder Eddie Layne officiating. Burial will follow in the McCoy Cemetery on Day Star Road; Delbarton, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Wednesday evening at the funeral home with a special service at 7:00 P.M.

John Kenneth Darbyshire

John Kenneth Darbyshire - age 76 of Belfry, KY passed away Wednesday; December 21, 2011 at his home following a lingering illness. Born January 14, 1935 at Hardy, KY; he was the first born to the late Harold and Lennie Inis Scott Darbyshire.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother Donnie Darbyshire.

John was a retired car salesman from Logan Motor Sales, a member of the Belfry First Baptist Church, and a veteran having served for 9 years in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Connie Varney Darbyshire of Belfry, KY; his children Marina Faith Darbyshire Beckett of Belfry, KY, Johnny Darbyshire, Carol Balch, and Robin Darbyshire all of Temple, TX; 1 brother James (Mona) Darbyshire of Sevierville, TN; 2 sisters Charlotte Helenburg of La Porte, TX and Kathryn (Dana) Bryant of Sevierville, TN; 3 granddaughters MaKenna Lynn Beckett and Madison Leola Beckett both of Belfry, KY and Moriah Balch of Temple, TX; 2 grandsons Brandon and Jordan Dalton of Temple, TX; his mother-in-law Logene Varney of Belfry, KY; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday; December 24, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Pastor Mark Helton officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Huddy, KY with Gary Scott, Paul Scott, Jonathan Yates, Jerry Darbyshire, David Darbyshire, and other family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Lynna Renall Preece

Lynna Renall Preece - age 45 of Hatfield, KY passed away Friday; December 16, 2011 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, KY. Born March 7, 1966 in Ohio; she was the daughter of the late William "Bud" and Shirley Hunt Harrison.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 1 brother Junior Bowen, 1 sister Stella Sawyer, and her father-in-law Monty Preece Jr.

She was a homemaker and of the Freewill Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband Cecil Ray Preece of Hatfield, KY; 2 daughters Kashawnna Slone and Alandra Wellman both of Hatfield, KY; 1 brother Buddy Bowen of Ohio; 3 sisters Dixie Bowen, Brenda Greene, and Mary Helen McCoy all of Ohio; her mother-in-law Margaret Preece of Huntleyville, KY; and 4 grandchildren Raylin Michelle Wellman, Maranda Joslin Hunter, Saphira Jade Wellman, and Dacoda Ray Slone.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday; December 20, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Bro. Ray Taylor and Bro. Earl White officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Maher, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral home with special services at 7:00 P.M.

Raymond "Leather Head" Hatfield

Raymond "Leather Head" Hatfield - age 47 of Jamboree, KY passed away Thursday; December 15, 2011 at his home following a long illness. Born November 22, 1964 in Williamson, WV; he was the son of the late Faye Hatfield Blankenship and the late Steve Hatfield.

Additionally, he was also preceded in death by a son Eric Hatfield.

He was a graduate of Phelps High School and a former coal truck driver.

Survivors include his son Brandon Hatfield of Elkhorn City, KY; his stepfather Jack Blankenship of Argo, KY; his aunt Arveline Morgan of Camden, IL; and his dog Goober.

Special "Thanks" to his caregiver Tina Dotson Frye of Jamboree, KY.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday; December 17, 2011at 12:00 P.M. from the Phelps Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tim Dodenhoff officiating. Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at Jamboree, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Friday evening at the Phelps Presbyterian Church.

Doris Childers

Doris Childers - age 65 of South Williamson, KY went home to be with the Lord Thursday; December 8, 2011 from the Pikeville Medical Center. Born November 11, 1946 at Inez, KY; she was the daughter of Gladys Stepp McCoy of South Williamson, KY and the late John Henry McCoy.

In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her husband William David Childers.

Doris was a graduate of Belfry High School and the Logan County Vocational School where she completed the LPN course. She worked as a nurse for Dr. Pajarillo for 28 years. She was active in the Williamson Women of the Moose where she held various offices, and she was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her 2 sons Chuck (Teresa) Childers of Ransom, KY and Mark (Jennifer) Childers of West Minister, Maryland; 1 brother Grover McCoy of Hardy, KY; 3 sisters Virginia (Art) Pocapak of Akron, OH, Phyllis (Buck) Bannister of Spartanburg, SC, and Brenda Kay (Bobby) Felix of Rincon, GA; 3 grandchildren Austin Christopher Childers, Cameron Paige Childers, and Colton Christopher Childers, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday; December 12, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Eddie Hatfield and Tim McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Maher, WV with Chuck Childers, Mark Childers, Austin Childers, Dustin Bannister, Joey Scott, Buck Bannister, and Lacy Muncy serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Leo Pajarillo.

Visitation will be from 4-9 P.M. Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Ronald D. Marcum

Ronald D. Marcum - age 67 of Hardy, KY passed away quietly with family and friends by his bedside on Thursday; November 12, 2015 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Born October 9, 1948 in Williamson, WV; he was the son of Homer and Mattie Francis Marcum of Hatfield, KY, now deceased.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Marcum of Ohio.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Donetta (Varney) Marcum, his father and mother-in-law, Clifford and Katherine Varney, and several nieces and nephews.

Ronald was a Veteran having proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War for which he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was active in the community in the DAV Chapter 141 where he served as a past Service Officer. He was a member of the Regional Church of God at Delbarton where he served as a Deacon, was a member of the Usher Team, was a member of the Media Department, sang in the church choir, and worked with Sunday School where he was loved by the children. He also was involved in several other projects at the church. He was a member of the Delbarton Kiwanis Club and was a Kentucky Colonel.

Funeral services will be held on Monday; November 16, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Pastor Mitchell Bias officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Huddy, KY with military honors to be presented by the Belfry Chapter 141 of the DAV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be at 6:00 P.M. Sunday evening with services at 7:00 P.M.

Leona Baldwin

Leona Baldwin, daughter of the late Henry and Mary Collins Baldwin of Canada, KY passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at her home. Leona was born at Canada, KY on September 1, 1933. She was one of twenty children.

Preceding her in death besides her parents, are two brothers, Paul Dougles and Joseph Baldwin, and one sister, Bernice Thacker.

Left to mourn her loss are eight brothers, Henry David Baldwin of Baltimore, OH, Samuel (Dana) Baldwin, Charles Franklin (Anna) Baldwin of Bedford, VA, Stephen (Judy) Baldwin of Troutville, VA, Michael (Cheryl) Baldwin of Wake Forest, NC, James (Vera) Baldwin of Canter, MI, Richard Baldwin of Pikeville, KY, and Dr. Jonathan (Bunny) Baldwin of Bowling Green, KY; eight sisters, Mary Elizabeth Flood of Atlanta, MI, Anna Marie (James) Bowens of McCarr, KY, Judith (Ronald) Hensley of Grayson, KY, Nancy Rose Parsley of Williamson, WV, Patricia Hall of Myrtle Beach, SC, Louise Sturgill of Belfry, KY, Susan Newsome and Rebecca Baldwin of Canada, KY; her truest friend, Diane Cassell of Huddy, KY, approximately 200 hundred nieces and nephews, many loving and faithful friends in the community and church.

Leona was an exceptional lady. She had many talents, and she did many jobs, from taking the younger ones in the family to sing somewhere or to an outing, teaching Bible School and Ladies Bible Classes for many years. She served the WMU teaching ladies with Bible study, and she taught in the public school system for 28 years. Additionally, she wrote an article in the Williamson Daily News for about 20 years and it was about the Baldwin Family. She was devout in her faith, compassionate, loving, kind, and loyal. She prayed about everything and she ask us not to cry for her, but to rejoice. It is an honor to have claimed her as our sister!

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday; November 15, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Pastor Shawn Ward of the Sidney Missionary Baptist Church, where Leona had been a charter member and she and our sister Bernice were faithful to the end, officiating. Graveside service and burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Huddy, KY, with her brothers and nephews serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015 beginning at 4:00 P.M. at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel with singing to begin at 7:00 P.M. and services will be conducted by Elder Ronnie Hensley after the singing.

Gail Bevins Mann

Gail Bevins Mann of Martin County, KY went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday; September 8, 2015. Gail was born August 5, 1943 at home in Burnwell, KY to the late Blanch McCoy Roberts and Jonah Bevins.

Gail was a long standing member of the Delbarton Opry House and she had an avid love for bluegrass music. She was a lifetime member of the Belfry Chapter 141 of the Disabled American Veterans Auxillary.

She is survived by her soulmate, Thomas King of Martin County, KY; daughters, Debbie (Tom) Quick of Little Mountain, SC and Melissa (Timothy) Wilcox of Burnwell, KY; brothers, Leon (Laura) Bevins of Defiance, OH and Eddie (Becky) Bevins of Napoleon, OH; sisters, Mable Baisden, Cleo Taylor, and Earyetta Gillman all of Martin County, KY; 5 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 6 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. In addition to her daughters, Gail was also a mother figure to several others including Ms. Monica (Derrick) Mastin, Tana (Paul) Honeycutt, Billeena Smith, Doyle Maynard, and Burl Marcum.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday; September 12, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Rev. Charles Delbert McCoy and Rev. Tom D. Quick officiating. Burial will follow in the McCoy Cemetery at Burnwell, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Linda Sue Blankenship

Linda Sue Blankenship - age 67 of Toler, KY passed away Thursday; September 3, 2015 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Born February 1, 1948 in Mingo County, WV; she was the daughter of the late Howard and Della Carter Blankenship.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brothers, Isom Blankenship and Donnie Mounts; and a sister, Mildred Blankenship Jones.

Linda worked as a nurse in the former medical office of Dr. Henderson and she was a homemaker.

Survivors include the love of her life, Doug Smith of Toler, KY; step-daughter, Dawn Smith of Cincinnati, OH.; 1 brother, Earl Blankenship of Turkey Creek, KY; 6 sisters, Glendean Jablensky of Newtown, WV, Betty (Jim) Sansom of Majestic, KY, Shirley Hurley of Matewan, WV, Linda Carol (Bill) Hammond of Red Jacket, WV, Jean (Jim) Betler of Bremen, OH, and Helen Blankenship of Gilbert, WV. Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends including a special niece, Alexis Hammond, and a special friend, Sue Williamson.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday; September 7, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Brad Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in the Coeburn Point Cemetery at Huddy, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home with services at 7:00 P.M. Sunday evening.

Neil Brian Jewell Jr.

Neil Brian Jewell Jr. - age 15 of Canada, KY died Friday; August 28, 2015 at his home. Born December 14, 1999 at Beckley, WV; he was the son of Neil Brian Jewell Sr. of Canada, KY and the late Bridget Hensley Flynn.

In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Betty Jewell, and his maternal grandfather, Richard Hensley.

Neil was a freshman at Belfry High School and he was a member of the Big Creek Freewill Baptist Church Youth Group.

Survivors include is father and stepmother, Neil Brian and Jessica Jewell Sr. of Canada, KY, 1 brother, Dalton Jewell of the home, 3 sisters, Tiffany (Zachary) Hensley of Harts, WV, Skyla Jewll of the home, and Megan May of Boone County, WV, his maternal grandmother, Theresa Hensley of Williamson, WV, his paternal grandfather, Menford Jewell of Meigs County, KY, his girlfriend, Rachel McKinley of Turkey Creek, KY, his best friend, James Collins of Canada, KY, special friends, John and Janes Rhodes of South Williamson, KY, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday; September 1, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Bro. Lee Branham and the Big Creek Freewill Bapist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Fuller-Thacker Family Cemetery at Thacker Hollow; Canada, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral home.
