Herbert Milton Vickers, 86 of Grassy Branch Raccoon, Ky. Passed from this earthly life Saturday August 7, 2010 at his home.
Milton was born at Tuckerman, Arkansas, Tuesday August 19, 1924 a son of the late Ernest and Ruby (Anderson) Vickers. He was a self employed restaurant owner and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the Church of Christ serving as a song leader and deacon for churches in Arkansas and Texas.
In addition to his parents, Milton was preceded in death by two brothers; Bill and Durward Vickers.
He is survived by his wife: Loretta (Gannon) Vickers, four sons: Herbert Milton Jr., and David Vickers of Arkansas, Ernie Vickers of Memphis, Tennessee, and Terry Vickers of Texas, one daughter; Shelia Turner of Arkansas, one step son; Randy Mullins of Raccoon, Kentucky and two step daughters; Sally Fredericks of Anaheim, California and Cheryl Greenly of Folsom, California, two brothers; Bobby Vickers of Helena, Arkansas and J.D. Vickers of Corona, California, one sister; Pauline Vickers of Missouri, eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren, six step grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Milton also leaves behind a host of other loving family and friends to mourn his passing. He will be sadly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.

Elva Lee, 83, of Hollywood, Florida passed from this earthly life on Friday March 4, 2011. Elva was born on December 19, 1927, the daughter of the late Elster Lee and Carrie Charles Burnette. She was a factory worker, employed By General Motors.
In addition to her parents, Elva was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Dwight Blackburn and her son, Larry Eugene Blackburn.
She is survived by one son, Harold Lee Blackburn; one daughter, Betty Carol Stratton; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Elva also leaves behind many other friends and loved ones to mourn her passing. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Billy Harold Gibson, 49, of Pikeville, Kentucky passed from this earthly life on Saturday March 5, 2011 at the Pikeville Medical Center. He was born on May 16, 1960, a son of Roland Gibson and the Late Yvonne Murphy Current. Billy was a disabled construction worker, and a member of the Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, Billy was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Ed Gibson; one sister, Vickie Branham; and his Step-Father, James Current.
In addition to his father, Billy is survived by his wife, Vonda (Chaney) Gibson of Pikeville; one son, Johnny Lee Gibson of Millard; one daughter, Brandi Nicole Doyle of Millard; two brothers, David Gibson of Millard and James (Chico) Gibson of Varney; three sisters, Sonya Bevins of Tennessee, Mary Gillespie of Millard, and Katherine Current of Tennessee; and also one grandson, Jacobie Ryan Hayse Gibson.
Billy also leaves behind many other friends and loved ones to mourn his passing. He will be sadly missed by al those who knew and loved him.

Johnny Allen Edmonds, 52, of Pikeville, Kentucky passed from this earthly life on Tuesday February 22, 2011 at the Pikeville Medical Center. He was born on June 13, 1958 the son of Paul “Pete” and Joan (Ratliff) Edmonds. He worked as an electrical rebuilder and was a member of the Maranatha Church.
In addition to his parents, Johnny is survived by his wife, Lisa Edmonds of Lower Johns Creek; one daughter, Mary White of Kermit, West Virginia; two brothers, Gregory Edmonds and his wife Gay of Raccoon, Kentucky and Charles Edmonds and his wife Kristi of Brushy, Kentucky; one sister, Paula McCarty and her husband Joey of Ash Camp, Kentucky; and by his nieces and nephews, Hannah, Zachary, Kasey, Hollie, and Joshua.
Johnny also leaves behind many other friends and loved ones to mourn his passing. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Mary is survived by one son, Christopher Villalovos of Pikeville; two brothers, Billy Ray Martin of Meta and Charles Franklin Martin of Sycamore Road; and by one sister, Jo Evelyn Smith of Joe’s Creek.
Mary also leaves many other friends and loves ones to mourn her passing. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Runyon.
Ronnie is survived by his three sisters, Jean Howard and her husband Noel Howard of Lower Johns Creek, Justine Runyon Blackburn of Gulnare, and Barbara Fitch and her husband Rush of Columbiana, Ohio.

Billy Gene (Willie John) Sesco Sr., 77 years of age of Meta, Ky. passed from this earthly life Tuesday December 28, 2010 at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Ky.
Billy was born in Pike County, Ky. Friday September 29, 1933 a son of the late Willie and Annie ( Stanley) Sesco.
Billy was retired from the Kentucky State Highway Department where he worked as a sign maker. Billy was a member of the Bent Branch Old Regular Baptist Church.
Other than his parents Billy was preceded in death by two brothers Elder Lloyd Sesco and Chester Sesco, four sisters Ethel Jackson, Exie Kendrick, vernice Johns and Bronis Brown.
Billy is survived by his loving wife Helen (Little) Sesco, one son Billy Gene and his wife Loria Sesco of Prestonsburg, Ky., two daughters Helen Renee and her husband Jeff Wolfe of Haynes Village Cowpen Gabriella Renee and Kerac Allen Wolfe and Cathena Rayella Gene Sesco, one sister Nettie Postell of Lincoln Park, Michigan. Visitation Wednesday December 29, 2010 at 6:00 PM and Thursday at Community Funeral Home Zebulon Hwy. Pikeville, Ky. With nightly services at 7:00 PM
Funeral Friday December 31, 2010 at The Bent Branch Old Regular Baptist Church at Meta, Kentucky at 1:00 PM burial will follow at the Annie E. Young Cemetery at E. Shelbiana, Ky. The body will lie-in-state at the church from 12 (noon) until 1:00 PM in time for funeral services.

Mary was born in Pike County, Kentucky, Tuesday November 26, 1935, a daughter of the late Toy and Nancy (Overbee) Hunt. She was a homemaker and a member of the Biggs Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers; and one sister. She is survived by five sons; Billy Ray (Phyllis) May of Raccoon, Kentucky, Johnny (Sharon) Sawyers, Willie (Janet) Sawyers and Thomas Sawyers all of Phyllis, Kentucky, Mark Sawyers of Meniffe, County, Kentucky, two daughters; Karon Wells (Floyd) of Clinton, Tennessee and Phyllis Ouimet (Tom) of Knoxville, Tennessee, eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, four great grandchildren and five step- great grandchildren. Mary also leaves behind a host of other loving family and friends to mourn her passing. She will be sadly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.

Edna Kidd
Edna Kidd, 43, of Allegheny, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at her home.
She was born in Pike County, the daughter of Sharon Tackett Newsome and the late Eddie Dean Newsome.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Allegheny Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son, Cody Newsome of Hellier; one daughter, Sylvannah Newsome of Rockhouse; two brothers, Jimmy Dean Newsome and Lowell Don Newsome, both of Hellier; two sisters, Teresa Hall of Harold and Lisa Scott of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, in the Allegheny Freewill Baptist Church with Tommy Tackett, Ray Tackett and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Gid Little Cemetery, Caney. Arrangements are under direction of Hall & Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.

Layton Maynard
Layton Maynard, 84, of Zebulon Highway, Pikeville, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at his home.
He was born in Pike County, March 8, 1928, the son of the late J.T. Maynard and Minnie Varney Maynard.
He was a self-employed carpenter, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Piso Freewill Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Taylor Maynard, to whom he was married 57 years; six brothers, Frank Maynard, Woodrow Maynard, J.T. Maynard, all formerly of Pikeville, Joe Maynard, formerly of Columbus, Ohio, Mack Maynard and Claude Maynard; and three sisters, Hattie Collins, formerly of Raccoon, Marlene Costa, and Georgia Muncy Bailey, formerly of Pikeville.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Thompson Maynard; two sons, Darrell Lance Maynard (Brenda) and Dr. Paul Layton Maynard, both of Pikeville; two daughters, Patty Lynn Stahl (William) of Florence and Sandy Penix (Larry) of Pikeville; two brothers, Bill Maynard of Pikeville and Bob Maynard of Pinckney, Mich.; two sisters, Ebba Jean Miller of North Carolina and Peggy Wolf of Brown City, Mich.; nine grandchildren, Ryan Maynard, Ricki Maynard, Randy Maynard, Justin Stahl, Nathan Stahl, Jordan Stahl, Adam Johnson, Jarrod Johnson and Juliette Maynard; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, in the Piso Freewill Baptist Church with Bill Maynard, Larry Penix and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Runyon Maynard Cemetery, Piso. Arrangements are under direction of Community Funeral Home of Zebulon.

William Shinn
William Everett "Willy" Shinn, 51, of Raccoon, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born in Springfield, Ohio, Feb. 5, 1962, the son of O. Evangeline Martin Shinn and the late Don K. Shinn Sr.
He was an electrician, a member of the Lone Oak Christian Church, Johnson City, Tenn., and attended Emmanuel Baptist Church, Pikeville.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three brothers, Don Shinn Jr., Kenneth Shinn and Robert Shinn, all of Jonesborough, Tenn.; one sister, Dorinda Keck of Edgewood, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, in the Willard Bartley Cemetery, Penny Road. Arrangements are under direction of Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, in the Lucas & Son Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home.

Alma Barnett
Alma Mae Barnett, 84, of Zebulon Highway, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at her home.
She was born in Pike County, June 9, 1928, the daughter of the late Lanzey Maynard and Anna Chapman Maynard.
She was a homemaker.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Jessie Osborne and Florain Rutherford.
She is survived by her husband, Geder F. Barnett Jr.; one daughter, Shirley Johnson (Charles) of Raccoon; two grandchildren, Shelly Shumate and Evan Charles; and three great-grandchildren, Rachel Shumate, Jackson Shumate and Kayla Shumate.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, Feb. 21, in the Community Funeral Home Chapel with Methodist ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Bent Ridge Cemetery, Meta. Arrangements are under direction of Community Funeral Home of Zebulon.
