Pearl Hamilton

Pearl Endicott Hamilton, 77, of Island Creek, died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at her residence.

She was born January 31, 1936, at Kenova, W.Va., the daughter of the late Bill and Gustiva Cooper Endicott.

She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jessie Endicott; a half-brother, Tom Cooper; and a sister, Anna Bell Hamilton.

She is survived by her husband, David Hamilton; two sons, Benny Blevins (Barb) of Hardyvelld, and Bill Blevins Jr. (Rosalee) of Flatwoods; two step-sons, Jackie Hamilton (Ersie) and Bill Jack Hamilton (Whitney), both of Pikeville; two brothers, Richard Endicott and Harry Endicott, both of Ceredo, W.Va.; four sisters, Eula Peterman of Columbus, Ohio, and Nancy Elkins, Bessie Lemaster and Mary Newton, all of Kenova; and 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, June 10, 2013, at J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel, Pikeville, with Charles Justice, Robert Justice and Doug Kendrick officiating.

Visitation will be held after 6 p.m., Saturday in the Chapel, with services at 7 p.m. each night.

Arrangements are under direction of J.W. Call Funeral Home of Pikeville.

Loretta Kiser

Loretta Owens Kiser, 70, of Belcher, died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Pikeville Medical Center.

She was born November 29, 1942, at Pikeville, the daughter of the late Willard Owens and Bessie Bartley Porter.

She was an elementary school teacher and a member of the Ferrells Creek Church of Christ and the Ferrells Creek Church of Christ Ladies Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Willard Owens, and a stepfather, Walker Porter.

She is survived by her husband, Kermel Dean Kiser, of Belcher; a son, Robert Dean (Eva) Kiser of Road Creek; four daughters, Karren Sykes of Lexington, Vickie O’Neill of Elkhorn City, and Marsha (Jody) Thacker and Rebecca Shawn (Dale) O’Neill, both of Belcher; a special sister-in-law, Brenda Smith of Greasy Creek; and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, June 9, 2013, at the Ferrells Creek Church of Christ, Belcher, with Billy Ford officiating. Burial will follow in the Dow Brooks Cemetery, Draffin.

Visitation began Friday, with services Saturday night at 7 p.m.

Arrangements are under direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Elkhorn City.

Wanda Stratton

Wanda K. Stratton, 74, of Joes Creek, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at St. Joseph Care Center, Lexington.

She was born in Williamson, W.Va., Oct. 18, 1938, the daughter of the late Raymond King and Maggie Ford King.

She was a cook at Johns Creek High School and a member of the Pikeville Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Benny Stratton; two sons, Michael Stratton of Cincinnati and Steven Stratton of Lexington; three brothers, Billy Ray King of Brookeville, Fla., and Roy Donell King and Tana Gay King, both of Rochester, N.Y.; and one grandchild, Taylen Stratton.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8, in the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel with Morgan Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in the Amos Stratton Cemetery, Joes Creek. Arrangements are under direction of J.W. Call Funeral Home of Pikeville.

Oma Blankenship

Oma Blankenship, 92, of Thacker, W.Va., died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.

She was born in Pike County, Dec. 15, 1920, the daughter of the late George Blankenship and Sally Blankenship.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God in Jesus Name of Phelps.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fonso Blankenship; three sons, Danny K. Blankenship, Bobby Gene Blankenship and Jessie Blankenship; three brothers; and two sisters.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Blankenship and Harl Blankenship; four daughters, Loney Hatfield, Della Ray Browning, Phyllis Glissondors and Iris Lee Daniels; one sister, Esteline Lester; and a host of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, in the Church of God in Jesus Name of Phelps with the Rev. Opie Blankenship and Ronnie Wolford officiating. Burial will follow in the Blankenship Cemetery, Jamboree. Arrangements are under direction of Chambers Funeral Services Inc. of Matewan, W.Va.

Visitation is all day Tuesday with services at 7 p.m.

Iva Collins

Iva Jewel "Granny" Collins, 84, of Lynn, W.Va., died Friday, May 31, 2013, at her home.

She was born in Freeburn, Jan. 7, 1929, the daughter of the late Elmer Griffey and Frona Estep Griffey.

She was a member of the Freeburn Church of God.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Junior Collins; two sons, Michael A. Collins and David H. Collins; one daughter, Anita G. Collins; one brother, David C. Griffey; and three sisters, Maggie Dotson, Sarah Stiltner; and Harriet Mounts.

She is survived by one son, Russell Collins of Lynn; two daughters, Sandra Adams of Paintsville and Elizabeth Hall of Sand Siding, W.Va.; one brother, Milton Griffey of Cleveland, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, in the Chambers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Wolford and the Rev. Randy Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the Varney Cemetery, Lynn. Arrangements are under direction of Chambers Funeral Services Inc. of Matewan, W.Va.

Kenneth LeMasters

Kenneth Mark LeMasters, 32, of Delbarton, W.Va., formerly of Greensboro, Pa., died Friday, May 31, 2013, at the South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.

He was born in Waynesburg, Pa., May 3, 1981, the son of Barbara Kanyuh LeMasters of Greensboro, and the late George LeMasters.

He was employed by Wal-Mart in Morgantown, W.Va., as an assistant manager.

He is survived by his wife, Tiffany Curry LeMasters; one son, Markus LeMasters; five brothers, John LeMasters, James LeMasters, George LeMasters, Dave LeMasters and Rich LeMasters; one sister, Michele Kacvmark; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 2, in the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Vernatter Cemetery, Caney, W.Va. Arrangements are under direction of Chafin Funeral Home of Delbarton.

Dulcie Rowe

Dulcie Rowe, 99, of Pikeville, died Sunday, June 2, 2013, at her home.

She was born in Pikeville, Aug. 27, 1913, the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Belcher and Mary Caroline Hall Belcher.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Caney Creek Freewill Baptist Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Rowe; three brothers, Corbit Belcher, Willie Belcher and Truby Belcher; and three sisters, Bertha Elswick, Ethel Rose and June Little.

She is survived by one son, Jimmy Steve Rowe; three daughters, Coupie Robinson, Fern Ratliff and Cheryl Roberts; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 6, in the Lucas & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Bryan Hunley, Richard Gibson and John Vance officiating. Burial will follow in the family cemetery. Arrangements are under direction of Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.

Special services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

Evelyn Stiltner

Evelyn Berger Stiltner, 69, of Melvin, died Thursday, May 30, 2013, in Cleveland, Ohio.

She was born Feb. 9, 1944, the daughter of the late Charles and Evie Mullins Berger.

She was retired from the Childers Oil Company and was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Myra.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Arville Stiltner; one brother, Joe Allen Berger; and two sisters, Rosetta Blades and Charlsie White.

She is survived by three sons, Anthony Stiltner of Meridian, Miss., Chris Stiltner of Big Rock, Va., and Tracy Stiltner of Melvin; two daughters, Melissa Stiltner of Melvin and Patricia Stiltner Clatworthy of Prestonsburg; one brother, Kenneth Berger of Pikeville; three sisters, Frances Oswald of Florida, Brenda Smith and Belinda Tackett, both of Dorton; and three grandchildren, Noah Stiltner of Mississippi, Jonathan Clatworthy of Prestonsburg and Corey Stiltner of Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, June 4, in the Lucas & Son Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Matthew Tackett Cemetery, Melvin. Arrangements are under direction of Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.

Lois Bogar

Lois C. Bogar, 83, of Pikeville, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at the Pikeville Medical Center.

She was born on March 4, 1930, at Millard in Pike County, the daughter of the late Riley Coleman Sr. and Carrie Adkins Coleman.

She retired from being a school teacher after 41 years. She taught at the Frozen Grade School, Narrow Branch Grade School, Hardy Grade School, Lookout Grade School and Millard Elementary. She was a member of the Faith First Baptist Church.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis Coleman and Gary Coleman and four sisters, Hula Looney, Mary Smith, Jeleanor Stewart and Nellie Phillips.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Roy Lee Bogar and one son, Roy David (Betty) Bogar of Pikeville; one daughter, Kathy Lea (Dallas) Blackburn of Pikeville and one granddaughter, Maria (Michael) Hawkins; two brothers, Riley Coleman, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio and Lomar Coleman of Hannibal, Mo.; two sisters, Martha Ward and Wanda Mays both of Louisville.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, at J.W. Call and Son Funeral Home with Nelson Damron and Charles Justice officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. at the funeral home with services at p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of J.W. Call and Son Funeral Home.
