Clarence Elmer Crewz
Clarence Elmer "C. E." Crewz, 81, of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at his residence. The Hardin County native was born on the reservation which is now Ft. Knox and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Addie Mae Atcher Crewz, by a brother, Thurman Crewz and by a sister Lillie Shepherd. He is survived by his wife, Marcella Brangers Crewz, two sons, Dale (Karen) Crewz of Elizabethtown and Danny Crewz of Rineyville, one daughter, Barbara (Dale) Givan of Elizabethtown, and five grandchildren, Leann Givan, Ryan Crewz, Emily Crewz, Michelle Crewz and Jared Givan. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Hill officiating. Burial will be in St. John cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may go to Hosparus of Central KY.

Wilfred Anthony Ray Jr.
Wilfred Anthony Ray Jr., 82, of Elizabethtown, died Saturday Feb. 27, 2010, at Helmwood Healthcare. He is a native of Hardin County, served in the National Guard, and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was an auto mechanic for Knox Motors in Ft. Knox for over 20 years, worked for Herb Jones from 1976-1989, and a Ham Radio Operator. He was a member of Amateur Radio Relay League and Lincoln Trail Amateur Radio Club. He was the holder of the highest class license available from the ARRL, the amateur extra license. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred A. and Lillie Hinton Ray; and one sister, Mae Mills. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Cain Ray; two daughters, Beverly (Bruce) Frase of Trego, Wisconsin and Linda Caswell of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Margaret (Harold) Morehead of Hodgenville and Christine Updegraff of Louisville; three grandchildren, Eric Caswell of Bowling Green, Bradley Frase of Elizabethtown, and Kristyn Caswell of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Rev. Stanley Osborne and Rev. Gary Chapman officiating. Burial to follow at E-town Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and after noon on Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hosparus.

Marjorie Slinker Yates
Marjorie Slinker Yates, 84 of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at North Hardin Health and Rehab. in Radcliff. She was a native of Hart County and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was a retired Sales Clerk. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Elston Slinker and William J. Yates; a daughter, Patricia Hall and by her parents, Charlie and Gracie Philpott Self. She is survived by one son, Elston Ray (Belinda) Slinker, Jr. of Upton; two daughters, Betty (Dale) Cornett of Elizabethtown and Sue (Don) Smith of North Carolina; a son in law, Jack Hall of Louisville; one brother, David Self of Louisville; two sisters, Ann (Don) Wilson of Louisville and Lydia Barnes of Elizabethtown; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a special friend, Debbie Grimes of Elizabethtown. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Creek cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Annie Reid Rhea
Annie Reid Rhea, 78 of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Kensington Manor Nursing Home. She was a native of Simpson County, an active member of Severns Valley Baptist Church, and a member of NARFE. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Boyd Rhea; her parents, Harry and Isabel Byrum Kirby; and one brother, Ollie "Spudie" Kirby. She is survived by five brothers, Donald Kirby of Woodburn, KY, Bruce Kirby of Savannah, GA, Lindsey Kirby of New Richmond, OH, Brent Kirby and Louis Kirby both of Franklin, KY; a special niece, Belinda Cotter of Taylorsville, KY; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral is 11 am CST Thursday at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home with Roger McCurry officiating. Burial to follow at Sulphur Springs cemetery in Simpson County. Local Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, and 2 to 8 pm CST Wednesday at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home in Franklin, KY. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

Mary Grace Campopiano Ploetz
Mary Grace Campopiano Ploetz, 85 of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at her daughter's home. She was a native of Providence, Rhode Island and a member of Grace Heartland Church. She was a data processor at Brown & Williamson in Louisville and Accounts Payable Manager at Rockit Trucking Inc. for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Consalvo and Anna Marie Cortellessa Campopiano; two brothers, Andrew Campopiano and Thomas Campopiano and four sisters, Mollie Campopiano, Concetta Bothelo, Philomena Corio and Jill "Sissy" Finlay. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia (David) Fulkerson of Upton and Karen (Ricki) Crain of Elizabethtown; six grandchildren, Doug (Colleen) Fulkerson of Shepherdsville, Steven (Diana) Fulkerson of Lexington, Kelly (Matt) Baucum of Cecilia, Jon (Katie) Fulkerson of Baltimore, Cortney Crain and Rikkijill Crain both of Elizabethtown; five great grandchildren, Lucy Winn Fulkerson of Baltimore, Huston Brooks Baucum and Lillian Grace Baucum both of Cecilia, Drayden Cash of Elizabethtown and Paige Christina Fulkerson of Shepherdsville and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Grace Heartland Church. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Contributions to Hosparus of Central Kentucky or WJCR Radio, P.O. BOX 91, Upton, KY 42748.

Andrea Lou Hornback
Andrea Lou "Boo" Hornback, 61, of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Hardin County and a member of College Heights United Methodist Church. She worked for the Cecilian Bank for 14 years, was a member of Hardin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered at Helping Hand. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Douglas and Nellie Andrews Martin. She is survived by her husband, Leon Hornback, two sisters, Pat (David) Cowherd of Cecilia and Shelia (John) Cole of Salado, Texas and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Hatfield officiating. Burial will be in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Janet Bettymae Coeburn
Janet Bettymae Coeburn, 76, of ELizabethtown, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Bluefield, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Bessie Brown Coeburn, by a son, Collis Jay Hatley, by 3 brothers, Rudolph Coeburn, Walter Coeburn and Phillip Coeburn and by a sister, Ruby Bailey. She is survived by a son, Jeff Hatley of Radcliff, a daughter, Carol Bailey of Dixon, MO, 1 sister, Brenda Blankenship of Bluefield, WV, by 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at North Hardin Memorial Gardens in Radcliff. Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Lucille Noe
Dorothy Lucille Noe, 90, of Elizabethtown, died Friday, July 23, 2010 at her residence. The Hardin County native was a member of Bethesda Ministries, formerly Church of God of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. A. Earl Noe, her parents Howard and Flora Mae Gossett Brooks, by a granddaughter, Dianne Gillenwater, by a foster son, Oscar Lee Brooks, Jr., by 5 brothers, Robert Brooks, Herbert Brooks, Raymond Brooks, Oscar Brooks, Sr. and J. T. Brooks and by 3 sisters, Gladys Lambert, Madeline Snawder and Carolyn Atwell. She is survived by one daughter, Betty (Kenneth) Gillenwater of ELizabethtown, 3 grandchildren, Kenny and Jeff Gillenwater and Carol Baker, 7 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and by 3 foster grandchildren, Angela, Noel, and Thomas The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Bethesda Ministries with Bro. Ray Payne, Bro. Kenny Gillenwater officiating. Burial will be in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 2:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Randel Stephen Osborne
Randy Osborne, 63, of Elizabethtown, died Friday, July 30, 2010, at his residence. He was a native of Vine Grove and the owner and operator of Packages and More, Inc. for over 20 years. He was a 1964 graduate of E'town Catholic, an avid street rodder, a member of the National Street Rod Association, owner of a 1934 Ford, and worked at Osborne Brothers Quarry until 1977. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pat Osborne. He is survived by his wife, Margee Thomas Osborne of Elizabethtown; his father, Wm L. "Bill" Osborne, Jr. of Elizabethtown; one son, Stephen Osborne of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Leslie K. Osborne of Louisville; and two brothers, Wayne (Cindy)Osborne of Knoxville, TN and Patrick (Tish) Osborne of Owensboro. The funeral is Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, with Rev. Stanley Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in St. James cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A prayer vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Monday.
