Robert Bruce Martin
Robert Bruce Martin, 76 of Elizabethtown, died Friday, October 29, 2010 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Palmyra, IN and was a Farmer. He was a retired Vice President of United Pipeline and owned and operated Martin's Sawmill for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herburt and Eunice Sears Martin. He is survived by his wife, Shirley May Martin; four sons, Jason (Monica) Martin of White Mills, Richard Martin and Robbin Martin both of Louisville and David (Beany) Kemper of Upton; three daughters, Tammy (Kenny) Sinkhorn of Somerset, Janet (John) Priest of Winchester, OH and Teresa (Joe) Bryant of Louisville; one brother, Gene Martin of Palmyra, IN and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home.

Herbert Ruble Robinson
Herbert Ruble Robinson, 83 of Elizabethtown, died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at North Hardin Health and Rehab. in Radcliff. He was a native of Wheeling, WV and a member of the Morrison Masonic Lodge #76 F & AM. He retired from the U. S. Army and worked at Interstate Auto for 12 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry E. and Sarah M. Shaw Robinson and twelve brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Robinson; two sons, David Allen (Betsy) Robinson of Smithfield, PA and Rocky Paul (Ronald) Robinson of Louisville; a sister, Herlene Myers and a granddaughter, Bobbie Jo Stitchick of Uniontown, PA. There will be no services. Brown Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.

Betty Lou Whobrey
Betty Lou Cooper Whobrey, 76 of Boston, died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at her home. She was a native of Whitley County and retired from General Electric after 27 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, John E. and Mary Irene Faulkner Cooper, two sisters, Rosetta Willard and Ida Jane Cooper and a brother, Hugh Cooper. She is survived by one son, Eric W. (Kim) Whobrey of Boston; one granddaughter, Erica Lee Whobrey of Boston; two step grandsons, Lester Price and Josh Price; two sisters, Ruth Ives of Elizabethtown and Dean Shearer of Harrodsburg and five brothers, Bob Cooper of Hart County, Jim Cooper of Cecilia, Roland Cooper of Elizabethtown, John Cooper of Radcliff and Holmer Cooper of Bowling Green. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Open Valley Baptist Church with Rev. J. C. Ramsey and Rev. Jeff Doyle officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home.

Mildred Lucille Jenkins Akers
Mildred Jenkins Akers, 90, went to be with her Lord November 1, 2010 at the home of her daughter in White Mills. She was born August 2, 1920 to Clarence and Ella Jo Jenkins. Mildred retired from the Hardin County School system, having worked as a cook at Lynnvale and West Hardin High Schools. She was recently honored at the White Mills Christian Church for 70 years of membership. Very few Sundays found her any place but at church. She was well known for her kind and gentle spirit and her art of using the needle. Mildred loved to quilt and make pillow cases. Many people have her stitchery in their homes. One of the great joys in her life was "eating out" and was known in many restaurants by her first name. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William E. Akers, her parents, 5 brothers, 2 sisters and her son-in-law, John D. Terry. She leaves behind to celebrate her life, a daughter, Martha J. Terry and a son and daughter-in-law, James "Buddy" and Edna Akers all of White Mills; five grandchildren, Carol and Tim Priddy of Sonora, Lisa and Greg Thomas and Laura and Scott Nall all of Cecilia, Jim and Christine Akers of Paris, KY and Cindy Akers Richardson and Kent of White Mills; 13 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at White Mills Christian Church with Bro. Tim Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in White Mills Community cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continue after 9 a.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the White Mills Christian Church or Hosparus of Central Kentucky.

Alene Meyers Routon
Alene Meyers Routon, 90 of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, October 31 2010 at her home. She was a native of Hardin County and was the oldest member of Colesburg Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Franklin Routon Jr.; a son Donald Ray Routon; her parents Alonzo Otto and Mary Frances Crowe Meyers and two brothers Raymond and Otto Meyers. She is survived by two sons Claude O. (Rebecca) Routon of Hanover, In. and David Roy Routon of Cecilia; seven daughters Joyce Stilwell and Frankie (Buddy) Evans all of Bardstown, Wanda Formhals of Tehachapi, Ca., Glenda (Don) Patterson and Donna G. McMillen all of Elizabethtown, Darlene R. Crain of Glendale, and Terri Lynn Routon (Lupe Perez) of Colesburg; twenty five grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, a special friend Flora Belle Veirs, and special cousin Madeline Bird. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 pm at Colesburg Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Judd officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon Jct. cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 pm and continues after 9 am on Friday at Brown Funeral Home.

Louise Michaels O'Bryan
Louise Michaels Misener O'Bryan, 86, of Elizabethtown, passed away November 8, 2010, at Kensington Manor. She was born in Jefferson County, but spent most of her years in Niagara Falls modeling. She was an avid golfer and gardener. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ora Young and a son, Rev. Eddie Holthouser. She is survived by a daughter in law Cheryl Holthouser of Niagara Falls; grandson Larry (Heather) Holthouser of Glendale; three great grandchildren, Tyler, Caitlyn and Hannah Holthouser; a great great grandchild, Benjamin Holthouser; a special friend, Carolyn Ritchie of Elizabethtown and a dear friend, Fran Dye of Corona Del Mar, CA. A Memorial Service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Chapman officiating. Visitation will begin 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Hillard "H.D." Cox
Hillard Dee "H.D" Cox, 84, of Elizabethtown, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Hardin Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was a veteran of World War II and a well known excavator in Elizabethtown for sixty years. He is preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Sarah Cox; a son, Michael Wayne Cox; a daughter, Marilyn Ann Cox; a granddaughter, Tina Compton; a grandson, John Phelps V and a great grandson, Derek Dile. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty two years, Emogene Cox and seven children, Roger Cox, Gloria (Ron) Compton, Donnie Cox, Janice (Mark) Bennett, Tom (Lori) Cox, Sandy (David) Morrow, and Doug (April) Cox; twenty two grandchildren and thirty one great grandchildren; two brothers, Jackie (Margaret) Cox of Elizabethtown and Jimmy (Carolyn) Cox of Rineyville; two sisters, Christine Cox of Alabama and Ruby Araujo of Florida and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Kerr officiating. Burial will follow in Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and continue after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mary Suann Lutz
Mary Suann Lutz, 76 of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Hardin County and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she was active in the Joy Sunday School Class. She was a 1952 graduate of Vine Grove High School and formerly worked at Uarco. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil C. and Anna Stanley Bailey Irwin; two brothers, Melford B. Irwin and Louie Irwin; one sister, Gladys Miller and one granddaughter, Tara Beth Thomas. She is survived by two sons, David (Missy) Lutz of Elizabethtown and Steve Lutz of Lebanon, TN; one daughter, Kay (Rick) Robertson of Elizabethtown; four grandsons, Benjamin (Erica) Thomas, Brandon Thomas, Ryan Lutz and Tyler Lutz and a sister-in-law, Pudge Irwin of Elizabethtown. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continue after 9 a.m.j Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home.
