Don Catlett of Hodgenville

Don Catlett, age 86, of Hodgenville, passed away, Monday, March 09, 2015, at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.

He was a retired hairdresser, former Civil Service employee at Ft. Knox and an illustrator.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie Jeff and Maude Cantrell Catlett; three brothers, Ollie Jeff Jr., Marion and Ralph Catlett; his twin sister, Doris Catlett and a nephew, Fred Catlett.

He is survived by four nieces, Judy Well, Nancy Hummer, Kaye Smith and Kathy Vaughn all of Hodgenville; two nephews, Michael Catlett of Bowling Green and Dennis Catlett of Elizabethtown; several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 3 PM Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, Rev. Jim Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in the Barren Run Cemetery.

Visitation will begin after 1 PM Wednesday until time of the service.

Velma Wells of Hodgenville

Velma Mae Wells, age 81 years, of Hodgenville, passed away, Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

She was retired from Union Underwear in Campbellsville, a member of First Baptist Church in Hodgenville, where she was active in the Young at Heart Choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Matilda Reed Nichols, and four brothers, Roger Nichols, W.L. Nichols, Ralph Nichols and Jessie Ray Nichols.

She is survived by her husband, of 63 years, Delma Wells, a daughter, June (Tommy) Whitlock of Elizabethtown, a son, Tim (Kelly) Wells of Huntsville, Alabama, four sisters, Christine (Jimmy) Smith of Clarkson, Carolyn (Pete) Beville, Wanda (Craig) Richards and Rita (Charlie) Garrett all of Elizabethtown, three brothers, John (Donna) Nichols of Elizabethtown, David (Pat) Nichols and Damon (Diane) Nichols both of Hodgenville, five grandchildren, Holly (Mark) Legaspi, Derek Whitlock, Natalie (Jaime) Tracy, Alison Wells and Alex Wells, and three great-grandchildren, Ava Legaspi, Max Legaspi and Peyton Tracy.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Rev. Carlos Compton and Dr. Paul Richey officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday and after 9 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Antoinette Ovesen Cruse of Hodgenville

Antoinette Ovesen Cruse, age 77, of Hodgenville, passed away Friday, September 2, 2016, at the Medical Center of Caverna.

She was born on September 1, 1939, to the late Anthony H. and Edna Bale Ovesen. Antoinette was a proud 1957 graduate of Hodgenville High School and a 1959 graduate of Campbellsville College. On August 31, 1962, she married the late Carl T. "Goldie" Cruse and they owned and operated LaRue County Ready Mix for many years.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marilyn Ovesen and Sara Jean Ovesen.

She is survived by a daughter, Caroline Antoinette Cruse; two sons, Carl T. (Angie) Cruse II and Anthony Bale Cruse; three grandchildren, Sharrone England, Bodie England and Dawayne Nunn; two sisters, Nancy Ovesen and Martha K. Ovesen-Smith and three great-grandchildren, Kallie Nunn, Tyler Nunn and Kayla Nunn.

Visitation will be from 1 to 7 PM, Monday, September 5, 2016 at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with private burial in the Stonehouse Cemetery.

Mary Bernice Rambo of Hodgenville

Mary Bernice Sublett Rambo, age 89, of Hodgenville, passed away Friday, September 2, 2016, at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.

She was a lifelong homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Rambo III; a son, Edward Rambo; her parents, James H. and Eva Lena Shipp Sublett; a grandson, Earl Michael Rambo; her brother, Bill Sublett and her sister-in-law, Beaulah Sublett.

She is survived by three sons, Jimmie (Mary) Rambo, Walter E. (Debbie) Rambo IV and Kenneth (Vicki) Rambo; seven grandchildren, Kenneth "Benji" Rambo, Kristie Rambo, Lisa Clark, Nicholas Rambo, Tiffany Rambo and Andrew Rambo; four special nieces, Judy Ingram, Betty Hutchins, Nancy Ford and Dory Gabhart and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM, Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Pastor Joe Bennett officiating. Burial will follow when scheduling allows in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM, Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ada Beatrice Brewer Cruse of Hodgenville

Ada Beatrice Brewer Cruse, age 87, of Hodgenville, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

She was a member of Ovesen Heights Baptist Church and retired from Elizabethtown Sewing Factory.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Cruse; her parents, David and Mattie Underwood Brewer; a grandson, J.D. Cruse; a sister, Mary Cruse and four brothers, Charles, Stanley, Castor and Roy Brewer.

Ada is survived by two sons, Rick (Lisa) Cruse of Symrna, TN and Ronnie (Lore) Cruse of Hodgenville; two granddaughters, Addie and Abigail Cruse; a great-granddaughter, Kinley Noland; a brother, Howard (Shirley) Brewer of Magnolia and three sisters, Leona (John) Allison of Illinois , Lorene Cline of Tennessee and Dorothy Keith of Elizabethtown.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Rev. Gerald Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.

Barbara Ann Taylor of Hodgenville

Barbara Ann Taylor, age 70, of Hodgenville, passed away, Thursday, June 26, 2014, at her residence.

She was retired from Nationwide Uniform in Hodgenville and a member of the Hodgenville Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Louis "Joe" Taylor; her parents, Andrew Lawrence and Mary Nettie Lyvers Reed; a sister, Mary Dorothy Bartley and a brother, Andrew Leon Reed.

She is survived by a son, Joseph Harold "Joey" (Robin Breeding) Taylor of Hodgenville; a sister, Elizabeth Viola (Charles) Riggs of Hodgenville; two step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Carlton Puryear officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joachim Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM, Friday and after 9 AM, Saturday at the funeral home.

Wanda Brewer Stillwell of Bullitt County

Wanda Brewer Stillwell, age 82, was born November 19, 1931 to the late Dave and Viola Owens Brewer and returned to her Heavenly Father on June 29, 2014.

Mrs. Stillwell was a member of Church of Our Savior and a loving homemaker and mother from Bullitt County.

Among those who preceded her in death include her husband, Robert Stillwell; brother, Dewey Brewer and her parents.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Melda (Wilbert) Noe, Mary (Larry) Clark, Robert (Sheenia) Stillwell, Danny Stillwell, Barbara Mattingly, Ricky (Angie) Stillwell and Timmy (Joetta) Stillwell; a sister, Evelyn Risinger; 15 Grandchildren, 10 Great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, July 3, 2014, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with burial to follow in in the Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 until 8 PM, Wednesday at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) and after 10 AM, Thursday at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home.
