Raniel Albert "Ran" Kavanaugh

Raniel Albert "Ran" Kavanaugh, 64, Henderson, died at 12:15 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.

A Methodist, he was a graduate of Riverview School and was attending Henderson Community College. He attended Green River Behavioral Health New Place.

Survivors include his mother, Mary V. Kavanaugh of Corydon; three sisters, Mary Ruth Croy of Willow Springs, Mo., and Cynthia Krutz and Gloria Kellough, both of Corydon; six brothers, Daniel Kavanaugh and Elden M. Kavanaugh, both of Corydon, James David Kavanaugh of Cairo, Thomas N. Kavanaugh of St. Claire Shore, Mich., and Darrell Kavanaugh and Robert Kavanaugh, both of Henderson; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Rev. Keith Griffin will officiate. Burial will be in Corydon Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony's Hospice.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Kavanaugh, Elden M. Kavanaugh, James David Kavanaugh, Thomas N. Kavanaugh, Darrell Kavanaugh and Robert Kavanaugh.

Barbara Kay Summers

Barbara Kay Summers, 52, Henderson, died at 6:25 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2001, at Medco Center of Henderson.

She was a member of Eastview Baptist Church where she was director of Women on Missions. She was also a volunteer at Henderson Community Christian Outreach and the Green Valley Baptist Association Answer Center.

Survivors include her husband, Ronnie J. Summers; a daughter, Bobbie Jo Summers of Richmond, Ky.; and her father, Jess J. Godsey of Henderson.

Arrangements are pending at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home.

Dr. Harold E. Helsley

Dr. Harold E. Helsley, 93, Henderson, died at 6:50 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2001, at Methodist Hospital.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he belonged to the men's Bible Sunday School class. A graduate of Lincoln Chiropractic College, he was also a member of the Henderson Rotary Club for more than 50 years and was a Henderson chiropractor for more than 70 years. He belonged to the Kentucky Association of Chiropractors and Jerusalem Masonic Lodge No. 9. He had served on the Henderson Water Board and was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys C. Helsley, who died June 26, 1991.

Survivors include, a daughter, Bonnie Helsley Savage of Lexington; two step grandsons; nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are pending at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the First United Methodist Church, the Rotary Club Scholarship Fund or a favorite charity.

Thomas "Tommy" Youmans

UNIONTOWN -- Thomas "Tommy" Youmans, 60, Uniontown, died of cancer at 7:35 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Union County.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Youmans; one daughter, Laura Williams of Labelle, Fla.; one son, Sam Youmans of Naperville, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Laura Smitha of Henderson and Jackie Wade of Martindale, Texas; two stepsons, William Johnson of Sturgis and Robert McClain of Glidden, Wis.; one sister, Doris Jackson of Gatesville, Texas; seven grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield. Brother Bill Barnard will officiate.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony's Hospice.

Mary Kathryn White

SULLIVAN, Ky. -- Mary Kathryn White, 97, died at 2:37 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2001, at her home here.

She was the oldest member of Sullivan Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John R. White, who died in 1988.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Cayce Lista of Secane, Pa.; one son, John W. "Jack" White of Sturgis; five grandsons; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are pending at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis.

Margie Lee Rooney

FLORENCE, Ky. -- Margie Lee Rooney, 89, Florence, formerly of Henderson, died at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2001, at Woodspoint Geriatric Care Center here.

She was a member of Henderson Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Geralds, who died Oct. 14, 1993, and a son, Thomas Poole, who died Sept. 16, 1993.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Kim Wolfe of Uniontown, Franklin Poole of Corydon, and William Dale Dixon of Florence who was also her caregiver; five great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home.

Anna Belle Fisher

WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Anna Belle Fisher, 77, Westminster, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Westminster Nursing and Convalescence Center here after a long illness.

Survivors include her husband, Donald E. Fisher; one daughter, Barbara Hevesy of Somerville, S.C.; two sons, James R. Fisher Sr. of Westminster and Donald L. Fisher of Canyon County, Calif.; one sister, Helen Pfeffer of Henderson; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Echhardt Funeral Chapel in Owings Mills, Md. The Rev. Timothy P. Feaser will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Woodlawn, Md.

Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Donald Ray Murphy

Donald Ray Murphy, 63, Henderson, died at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.

He was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Barbara Murphy; one daughter, Debbie Mullins of Henderson; two sons, Gary Murphy and Jeff Murphy, both of Henderson; two sisters, Catherine Watkins of Henderson and Polly Ratcliff of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, William Ruie Murphy and Dan Murphy, both of Henderson; his stepmother, Elizabeth Murphy of Owensboro; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Rev. Eddie Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
