Elsie Gladys Hubbs, 88, Ohio, formerly of Harlan, died Nov. 23, 2004, at the Life Care Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gemima Widener; and three children: Georgia Faye Hubbs, Terry Wayne Hubbs and Roy Hubbs.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Hubbs; 10 children: Paul Hubbs and wife, Fonda, Ohio; Tommy Hubbs and wife, Joyce, Ohio; Dennis Hubbs and wife, Charollette, Ohio; Orville Hubbs and wife, Phyllis; Graddie Hubbs and wife, Betty; Lamon Hubbs and wife, Betty; Shirley Calhoun and husband, Clyde; Brenda Bowling and husband, Zollie; Roger Hubbs and wife, Starr; David Hubbs and wife Viola; Georgia and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted today at 7 p.m. at the church.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at noon at the Sharp Cemetery in Rockholds.

Preston Alonzo Jackson

Preston Alonzo Jackson, 64, Huber Heights, died Dec. 2, 2004.
He was a long-time employee of Morgan Linen Service in Dayton. He was a dedicated Little League baseball coach for 20 years with a field named in his honor.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Marie Jackson, and one brother, George Jackson.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Freeman, and husband, Mike; one granddaughter, Amanda Roser; one grandson, Jason Roser; two brothers, Johnny and Fred Jackson; four sisters: Faye Price, Ora Branson, Donnie Helen Blanton and Sue Bradley.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Monday at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, .
Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Wagner officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Bluefield, Va.
Contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH, 45420.

Fern Farley Jones, 74, Fort Myers Fla., died Nov. 22, 2004, at Twin Valley Regional Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lola Farley.
She is survived by her husband, Don K. Jones Sr., Fort Myers, Fla.; four children: Donna Nantz Saylor and Don K. Jones Jr., and wife, Carol, all of Fort Myers, Fla.; John W. Nantz, Knoxville, Tenn.; and Denita Mulcaby and husband, Thomas, Louisville; two sisters: Lee Mills and husband, William, Punta Gardy, Fla.; and Stella Woolard, Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandsons: Christopher and Jesse Jones, Fort Myers, Fla.; and Michael Mulcaby, Louisville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Minnie Jones, 54, Cawood, died Nov. 30, 2004, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born Sept. 19, 1950, in Harlan. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cawood Church of God Mountain Assembly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorsie and Jenny Mae Jones; two brothers, Tommy and Jackie Jones; and one sister, Shirley Cox.
Survivors include her ex-husband, Sherman Steward, Cawood; five children: Richard Ronald Robinson, Hopkinsville; Kimberly Jones Hartsfield, Jenkins; Steven Robinson, Cawood; Angel Broyles, Cawood; and Jasmine Broyles, Cawood; three grandchildren: Lane Sharman Robinson, Kevin Robinson and Joseph Hartsfield; one brother, Johnny Jones, Wabash, Ind.; six sisters: Linda Underwood, Indianapolis, Ind.; Nancy Weir, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Etta Jones, Perrysburg, Ohio; Mary Bruce, Cawood; Sandy Irvin, Georgia; and Dorothy Mae Jones, Cawood; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be today at 2 p.m. at the Cawood Church of God Mountain Assembly.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Franklin Stewart and the Rev. Robert Landis officiating.
Burial will follow at Jones Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Felix Bruce, Kenneth Stewart, Jimmy Stewart, Derrick Wells, Steve Underwood and Eddie Hartsfield.
Mount Pleasant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Peyton H. Long, 77, Sharps Chapel, formerly of Wallins, died Nov. 16, 2004, at the University of Kentucky Hospital.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a retired coal miner.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Lewis and Myrtle Sergent Long; and a daughter, Beverly Gaye Long.
He is survived by his two children: Brenda K. Long and husband, Eddie Couch, Wallins; and Richard Long and wife, Judy, Livonia, Mich.; a sister, Rose and husband, Paul Noe, Wallins; four grandchildren, a special friend, Louise Arnold; and a host of aunts and cousins.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 until 9 p.m. at Rich Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Rich Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Stepp officiating.
Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Faye Eldridge Lowe, 67, Cincinnati, formerly of Smith, died Nov. 16, 2004, at Mercy Fanciscan Hospital in Cincinnati.
She was preceded in death by her parents: David and Ethel Eldridge; her husband, Clayton Lowe; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Reiman.
She is survived by two sons, Clayton Lowe Jr. and Miles Lowe; four daughters: Judy Leigh and husband, Donnie; Janet Reiman and husband, Jeff; Lisa Lowe and Freda Lowe, all of Cincinnati; six sisters: Jean Tomlin and husband, Charles, Smith; Joyce Hamlin and husband, Vernon, Rockford, Ill.; Freda Grubbs and husband, Ken, Cawood; Gayle Burke and husband, John, Wasilla, Ala.; Lynn Allen, London; and Tina Sawyers, Corbin; two brothers: Garfield Eldridge and wife, Teresa; and Billy Eldridge and wife, Margie, both of Indiana; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins to mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at the Charles A. Miller Funeral Home in Cincinnati with burial following in Cincinnati.

A native of Harlan County, she had lived here all of her life. She was a retired sales clerk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell McLain; her parents, Nettie and Charlie Ellis, a son, Greg McLain; three sisters: Lilly Mae Messer, Gladys Cusick and Jean Hatmaker; and three brothers: Fred Ellis, Arthur Ellis and Bryan Ellis.
Survivors include three children: Preston McLain and his wife, Polly, Evarts; Don McLain and his wife, Tracey, London; and Teresa McLain Alexander and her husband, Tim, Cincinnati; three sisters: Dorothy Bowers and her husband, Duke, Lexington; Robie Slavey, Cincinnati; and Jobie Gilbert and her husband, Ralph, New Lebanon, Ohio; two brothers: Dewey Ellis and his wife, Nancy; and Ray Ellis and his wife, Mary, all of Keokee, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Ellis, Harlan; and Martha Ellis, Evarts; eight grandchildren: Michael McLain, Orlando, Fla.; Brooke Hatcher, Williamsburg; Howard Parsons III, Wallins; Derek McLain, Closplint; Ian McLain, London; Rachel McLain, Evarts; Erin Lister and Heather Alexander, both of Cincinnati; four great-grandchildren: Gavin McLain, Caden Hatcher, Kelsey Kaake and Kaitlyn Lister; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends and neighbors: Ally McCreary, Betty Gay, Phyllis and Richard McNabb, Ruth Ann and Lige Sergeant.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at noon at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Danny McCreary and the Rev. Roy McNeil officiating.
Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.
Michael McLain, Howard Parsons III, Derek McLain, Ian McLain, Larry Ellis, Richard McNabb and Clark Cusick will serve as pallbearers.
