James Lanney Moore
1950-2009
MOREHEAD - James Lanney Moore, age 59, of CCC Trail, Morehead, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at his residence.
He was born March 3, 1950, in Fayette County, Kentucky and was the son of the late James Tracy and Eula Lewis Moore. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Jean Moore Crisp on June 4, 2008.
He is survived by 4 sons; James Nathan Moore and Richard Eugene Moore both of Columbus, Ohio, Kevin Lanney Moore and Jeremy Ray Moore both of Salt Lick, Kentucky; 1 daughter, Jennifer (Husband-Jackie Lee) Yvonne Wells of Salt Lick, Kentucky; 1 sister Roberta K. (Husband-Claude) Meade of Morehead, Kentucky and 10 Grandchildren.
Lanney was a former surveyor for Walker Corporation in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. He enjoyed fishing and loved watching U.K. basketball.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with the Rev. Charles Moore and Rev. Herbert D. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Ditney Cemetery.
Pallbearers: First Cousins
Honorary Pallbearers: Ralph France, Dennis Lewis, Jeff Quisenberry and Sidney Moore.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. Saturday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ditney Cemetery, 30 Judy Lane, Morehead, KY 40351

Roy R. “Russie” Saunders
1941-2009
HILLSBORO - Roy R. “Russie” Saunders, age 67, of State Route 1, Greenup, Kentucky, formerly of Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
He was born November 17, 1941, in Hillsboro, Kentucky and was the son of the late Roy “Chick” and Beulah Hawkins Saunders. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Zelma Ramey, and a brother, Kenneth W. “Buster” Hawkins.
He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Roesch Saunders; one sister, Sue Lewis of Kernersville, North Carolina; four nephews, Chuck Ramey, Shane Ramey, Kevin Lewis, and Josh Lewis, and a niece, Donna Lewis Evans.
Russie was a former sheriff of Fleming County and former owner of Saunders Grocery in Hillsboro.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Hutton Funeral Home with Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Tim Vice, Clarence Galliger, Mike Egan, Mike Hawkins, Mark Ramey, Marvin Horsley, Gerald Saunders, Curtis Hawkins, Bob McIntyre, Bob Jones.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday at the Hutton Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Kentucky.

Daniel Ronald Walker
1952-2009
MOREHEAD – Daniel Ronald Walker, age 56, of Rock Fork Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at his residence.
He was born October 23, 1952, in Ferndale, Michigan, and was the son of the late David Ronald and Betty J. Clairmont Walker.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Herweyer Walker; one son, Christian Walker of Indiana; two daughters, Jennifer Walker of Michigan and Jodie Walker of Indiana; one stepson, Randy Clevenger of Morehead, Kentucky; and one stepdaughter, Vickie Manko of Michigan.
Additional survivors include three siblings, Gail L. (Brian) Baker-Small, David G. (Rosemary) Walker and Robert L. (Kim) Walker, all of Michigan; 4 grandchildren; 4 nieces and 2 nephews.
No services are planned.

Norman Williams
1926-2009
SALT LICK - Norman Williams, 82, of 3245 South Highway 211, Salt Lick, KY passed away Friday March 13, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington after a brief illness.
Mr. Williams was born September 8, 1926 in Bath Co., the son of the late Bascom and Hannah Mae Norris Williams. He was the widower of the late Virginia Ann Parrish Williams who preceded him in death in 2000 and was a retired employee of Morehead State University’s maintenance department.
Survivors include 1 son, Carl Jackson “Jackie” Williams of Salt Lick, 1 sister, Rosena Cogswell of Hillsboro, 1 sister in law, Rose Marie Williams of Yellow Springs, OH, 4 nieces, Nancy Lewis of Yellow Springs, OH, Regina Baum of San Antonio, TX, Jennifer McKinney of Morehead and Sherry Plank of Morehead, 1 nephew, Jeffrey Cogswell of Morehead, several great nephews and several cousins.
Funeral services were conducted Monday March 16, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home in Salt Lick with Rev. Vernon Lambert officiating. Interment followed in Bath County Memorial Gardens.

Grace Katherine Furmanski Click
1937-2009
MOREHEAD – Grace Katherine Furmanski Click, age 72, of Bear Skin Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 24, 2009, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
She was born April 21, 1937, in Calumet City, Illinois, daughter of the late Edward and Katherine Posch Furmanski.
Mrs. Click is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ivan Click; one son, Ivan Click, Jr. of Chesterton, Indiana; one daughter, Penny Wilbur of Portland, Michigan; one brother, Edward L. Furmanski of Merrillville, Indiana; 3 grandchildren, Jamie Braun, Mindy Click, and Aaron Wilbur; and 2 great grandchildren, Adrian Braun and Jenna Braun.
Mrs. Click retired from Wal-Mart and was a member of the Haldeman Church of God.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Don Rivers, Brother Rex Seagraves, and Brother Mitch Roe officiating.
Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.

Kathleen Cole
1924-2009
MOREHEAD – B. Kathleen Jones Cole, 84, of New Carlisle, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 9, 2009.
She was born on August 26, 1924 in Hogtown, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Willie Grant Jones and Martha Susan Mabry Jones.
Mrs. Cole was known to many children as the lady who lived next to the park. She enjoyed baking cookies and giving them to those who were playing. She also loved taking baked goods to her neighbors and joking with her friends at the post office and dollar store. She was a gentle soul with a kind heart, big smile and love for all. She enjoyed her quilting and genealogy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Finley Monroe Cole, Sr., son, Finley Monroe Cole, Jr., brothers, Lymon Beecher Jones and Hermitt Jones and sisters, Ceolia Barker and Isoline Stidam.
Survivors include son, Beecher E. “Dobie” Cole and Margaret of Dayton, Ohio, grandsons, Brad Cole and wife, Nicole of Washington, Jesse Cole of West Virginia, Jason Cole and wife, Heidi of New Carlisle, Ohio and Brian Cole and Cara of Dayton, Ohio, great-grandchildren, Jacob of California, Liam and Kathleen of Washington, Cody of West Virginia, Courtney and Jason Thomas of New Carlisle, Ohio and Amelia and Lillian of Dayton, Ohio, numerous nieces and nephews including, Vicki, Bill and Gene Coates, whom she loved dearly, plus countless dear friends.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Waddell Cemetery in Elliott County. Visitation is after 11:30 A.M. Saturday, May 2nd.

Paul Eugene Erwin
1936-2009
MOREHEAD - Paul Eugene Erwin, age 72, of Midland, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2009, at his home.
He was born October 15, 1936, in Carter County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Walter and Dolly Fultz Erwin. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clayton Erwin and Billy Joe Erwin and one sister, Emogene Bradley.
Paul is survived by his wife of 45 years, Bessie Haney Erwin, whom he married February 28, 1964; one son, Chris Erwin and wife Melanie of Salt Lick, Kentucky; one daughter, Joanne Erwin Ford and husband Ken of Burlington, Kentucky; three brothers, Karl Erwin of Kettering, Ohio, Albert Erwin of Blanchester, Ohio, and James Erwin of Ashland, Kentucky; three sisters, Louise Baber of Morehead, Kentucky, Delma Haggard of Morehead, Kentucky, and Jewell Beaudry of Hilliard, Ohio.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Justin Young, Brandi Erwin, John Paul Erwin, Steven Ford, Kayla Ford, and Jessica Ford, and several nieces and nephews.
Paul was a retired carpenter. He was a devout Christian and was a member of Morehead First Church of God where he served as an usher. Paul loved God, his family and especially his grandchildren. His love of the outdoors allowed him to enjoy his hobbies of fishing and hunting. His favorite place was Cave Run Lake fishing for Muskie at his favorite fishing hole.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Williams, Rev. Allan Hutchinson, and Rev. Mike Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery at Midland, Kentucky.
Pallbearers will be David Baber, John Bradley, Justin Young, John Paul Erwin, Joe Baber, Grady Pearson, Jack Erwin, Joe Erwin, and Mike Erwin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Siler, Mike Jackson, Brandi Erwin, Kayla Ford, Jessica Ford, Ronnie Bradley, Walter Haggard, and Jay Blevins.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
