Alice Mae Pauley Rhodes of Magnolia, Texas was escorted by angels to be with the Lord on February 26, 2012 after a lengthy illness.
Alice was 73 years old. Born in Williamson, WV on February 21, 1939, she was the daughter of the late William Charles and Gladys Marie Williamson Pauley.
Alice married in 1955 and graduated from Belfry High School in 1956. She gave birth to her daughter, Kathy Lynn Lambert in 1958. She moved to the Detroit, Michigan area in 1960 which became home to her for the next 15 years. Her career during that time included working as an office manager for a hospital, a certified public accountant, a home bulider and as Vice President for a Plumbing Supply Company. In 1962 she gave birth to her son, Raymond Harold Lambert II. In 1967 she gave birth to her second daughter, Katrina Kay Lambert who preceded Alice in death just hours after being born. During this phase of her life she developed the talent to organize parties, dinners, weddings, etc. If you were fortunate enough to attend one of her get togethers you will remember why it is called talent. Later in her life she owned and operated two different businesses.
Alice was blessed abundantly by her marriage to Cecil Rhodes. He catered to her every need to the bitter end. They were married in Livonia, Michigan on December 21, 1974. Cecil being from Texas moved his bride and her children to Houston in 1975. Over the past 37 years together they had the opportunity to travel all over the United States. They lived in Michigan, California, Kentucky, Alabama and finally in 2005 settled again in Texas.
Alice was a hard working person all of her life. She gave more than 100 percent in every task she undertook. It would take days to list her many gifts, talents and abilities. She could learn to do anything. She had many passions in life. Best known for her cooking, her delicious meals will be greatly missed. Her interest included entertaining. decorating, gardening, sewing, quilting, crafts, shopping, antiques and genealogy. She put forth great effort in preserving her family history.
She is survived by her loving husband, Cecil C. Rhodes; her daughter, Kathy Lynn Lyons and husband, Barry; her son, Raymond Harold Lambert II and his wife, Barbara; step son, Cecil C. Rhodes Jr. and his wife, Joni and their two daughters, Cecilia and Promise; five grandchildren, Katy, Matthew, Jeremy, Stefanie and Heather and six great grandchildren, Emelia, Beau, Nolan, Lana, Brendan and Alexander. Alice's legacy will live on in the memories of her many friends and family.
Visitation will be held Friday evening March 2 after 6 PM, and funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 11 AM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Keith Sammons officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to the Forest Hills Baptist Church in memory of the Pauley Family.

Laren Avery Morrison, 61 of Sterling Heights, Mi. formerly of Belfry, Ky. was called back home to God after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, March 1, 2012.
He was born February 21, 1951 the devoted son of Estelle Morrison of Belfry, Ky. and the late Philip Morrison. Other survivors include his beloved wife Sandra Morrison; he was the dear father of Lisa (Bob) Diolordi, Julie (Jason) Castor and Gina (Eric) Opalewski; the loving grandfather of Abigail and Justin; loving brother of Joan (Gary) Kennedy, Sheryl (Rex) Layne, Gay Pacific, Carla Adams, Kenny Morrison and the late Michael Morrison.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 11 AM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Brother David Kilburn officiating. Burial will follow in the MountainView Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky.
Visitation will be held after 3 PM Monday at the funeral home with a special scripture service at 7 PM.

Chester Euly Hatfield, 74, of Forest Hills, KY, passed away Friday, March 2, 2012 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born May 13, 1937 in Gilbert, WV the son of the late Tracy Burgess and Stella May Browning Hatfield. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Bosley and Patsy Hatfield; five brothers, Bennett, Hayes, Julian, Ralph and Tracy Hatfield Jr. and a special niece, Delores Farnam.
Chester formerly owned and operated Standard Concrete Company, was a member of the American Legion and the Williamson Moose Lodge and a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Survivors include one daughter, Sheila Myers of Forest Hills, Ky.; three sons, Chester Kenneth (Kathy) Hatfield of Kermit, WV, Mark Allen (Haven) Hatfield of Prestonsburg, Ky. and Randall Gene Hatfield of Cardington, Ohio; four sisters, Opal Thomas of Ft. Myers, FL, Rachel Hatfield of Chillicothe, Ohio, Patty (Don) Taylor of Gilbert, WV and Ruth Foreman of Sacremento, CA; ten grandchildren, Taunia Dardi, Frankie Myers, Chasity Crist, Michael Hatfield, Christopher Hatfield, Mark Justin Hatfield, Kayla Hatfield, Christy Cishon, Randall Gene Hatfield II and Randi Jean Hatfield and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, March 7, 2012 in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery, Hampden, WV with Frankie Thomas Myers II, Christopher Hatfield, Mark Justin Hatfield, Frankie Myers Sr., Henry Trippett and Randall Gene Hatfield II serving as pallbearers. Belfry Chapter #141 DAV will conduct Military Graveside Services. Visitation will be held after 6 PM on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 in the Funeral Home Chapel.

Sallie Canada (photograph), 92, of Varney, Kentucky passed away Friday, March 30, 2007 at Markey Cancer Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Born May 19, 1914 in Lower Brushy, Kentucky, Sallie was the daughter of the late Billy and Parlee Nichols.
She was a homemaker and member of the Apple Orchard Regular Baptist Church.
Other than her parents preceding her in death are her husband Tom Canada, four children, and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving her are two sons: Charles (Annette) Canada and Paris (Nell) Canada both of Varney; Anna Lea (Freddie) Williamson of Varney, Rosa Dean (Leon) Ward of Varney, and Connie (Mike) Walters of Zebulon, Kentucky; seventeen grandchildren, and twenty-four great grandchildren.
Visitation is after 2:00 pm Sunday, April 1, 2007 and Monday, April 2, 2007 at Apple Orchard Regular Baptist Church in Heenan, Kentucky with special services both evening at 7:00 pm.
Funeral services at noon Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Apple Orchard Regular Baptist Church with Paul Maynard, Saber Nichols, and Leon Robinson officiating. Burial is at Apple Orchard Cemetery in Heenan. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

John D. Chafins, 74, of Warfield, Kentucky was killed July 18, 2007, in an automobile accident at Chattaroy, West Virginia.
Born March 6, 1933 in Wayne County, West Virginia, John was the son of the late Pierce Chafins and Peggy Blackburn Dalton. He is also preceded in death by a host of family.
John was a retired diesel mechanic and a salvage man.
Surviving John are his wife Loretta Starr Chafins; one son, Paul (Martha) Porter of Williamson, West Virginia; one granddaughter, Danielle Porter also of Williamson; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation is after 6:00 pm Friday, July 20, 2007 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home.
Funeral services are 11:00 am Saturday, July 21, 2007 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Chris Bevins and Gary Dove officiating. Burial is at Goff Cemetery in Nolan, West Virginia with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Blanche Chapman, 97, of Williamson, West Virginia, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2007 at Appalachian Regional Hospital Skilled Nursing in South Williamson, Kentucky.
Born December 13, 1909 in Martin County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Ervin and Matilda Thompson. Other than her parents preceding her in death are her husband Charlie Chapman and daughters: Anna Wooten, Claudean Mosko, and Billie Marie Chapman.
Blanche was a retired nurse from Williamson Memorial Hospital and Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was a member of the Portsmouth Baptist Church.
Surviving her are one son Greg (Pam) Chapman, one daughter Mary Lou (Donald L.) David of Winston Salem, North Carolina, eight grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service held at a later date.

Jackie Chapman, 81, of Huddy, Kentucky passed away Sunday, January 7, 2007 at Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Kentucky.
Born August 17, 1925 in Martin County, Kentucky to the late Charlie and Stella (Miller) Dotson, Jackie was a housewife and a member of the McAndrews Wesleyan Church.
Preceding her in death other than her parents are two sons: Lessie Ray Blevins and David Lee Blevins; one daughter: Susan Blevins, and two brother-in-laws, Bill and Richard Chapman; and one sister-in-law, Mary Absire.
Surviving her are her husband, William "Bill" Chapman; a brother, Estill Lee Dotson of Logan, West Virginia; five brother-in-laws: Noah Chapman of Anderson, Indiana, Danny Chapman and Quincy Chapman both of McVeigh, Kentucky, Bobby Chapman and Jimmy Chapman both of Stateville, North Carolina; and special friends: Jackie and Mary Thacker and Betty Williamson.
Friends may call after 6:00 pm Monday, January 8, 2007 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky and Tuesday, January 9, 2007 with special services on Tuesday at 7:00 pm.
Funeral services are 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Ralph Ferree officiating. Burial is at Chapman Cemetery in Canada, Kentucky.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Linda Gail West Chapman (Photograph), 56, of Hardy, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 17, 2007 at the residence of her daughter.
Born October 14, 1950 to the late Edgar and Mary Ellen Stump West in Pikeville, Kentucky, Linda was a homemaker and of Regular Baptist Faith.
Surviving her are her husband Danny Chapman of Hardy; two sons: Danny Ray Chapman of Sprigg, West Virginia and Timothy Brian (Janet) Chapman of Williamstown, Kentucky; four daughters: Loria Ann (Luther) Fields of Hardy, Melissa (Brian) Van Dyke of Claypool Hill, Virginia, April Lynn McCoy of Chattaroy, West Virginia, and Rhonda Sue Chapman of McVeigh, Kentucky; one stepdaughter Sandra Ricketts of Michigan; and twelve grandchildren: James, Brian, Aaron, Mathew, Tyler, Jacob, Gage, Peyton, Abigail, Alex, Solita, and Isabel. Also surviving her are four brothers: Billy West, Donald West, Charles West, and Russell West; four sisters: Emily Bally, Brenda Rose, Angie West, and Joyce Coleman; and many other family and friends.
Visitation is after 6:00 pm Monday, March 19, 2007 and Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky with special services both evening at 7:00 pm.
Funeral services are 11:00 am Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Lacy Walters and Raymond Smith officiating. Burial is at Chapman Cemetery in Canada, Kentucky Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Virginia B. Chapman, 85, of Canada, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at Appalachian Regional Hospital Skilled Nursing in South Williamson, Kentucky.
Born May 19, 1922, Virginia was the daughter of the late Charles Baldwin and Lena Smith Baldwin. Also preceding her in death are her husband, Owens Greenville "Snake" Chapman; seven brothers: Frank, Henry, Herman, Lewis, Hobart, Walter, and Charles Baldwin, Jr.; and three sisters: Elizabeth Blackburn, Lucille Brunty, and Mattie Marino.
Virginia was a former seamstress for Roberts Morris Clothing for Men and a member of the Sharondale Church of Christ.
Surviving her are two sons: Tim Chapman of Canada, Kentucky and Tom (Joyce) Chapman of Prospect Hill, North Carolina; one daughter, Linda (Albert) Keesee of Belfry, Kentucky; and former daughter-in-law, Cathy Chapman of Pikeville, Kentucky. Also surviving her are eight grandchildren: Gina (Jeffery) Hatfield, Tara (Josh) O'Brien, Timothy (Stephanie) Chapman, Tommy Owens (Jaclyn) Chapman, Tommy Joseph Chapman, Diana (Eric) Cheek, Matthew Chapman, and Amanda Chapman; and seven great grandchildren: Abby Chapman, Mary Cheek, Samanth Cheek, Blake Chapman, Isaac Chapman, Andrew Cheek, and J. R. Chapman.
Visitation is after 6:00 pm Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky. There will be a special service at 7:00 pm with Bob Werntz, Tommy Chapman, and Franklin Mounts officiating.
Funeral services are Thursday, August 23, 2007, at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Bob Werntz, Tommy Chapman, and Franklin Mounts officiating. Burial is at Chapman Cemetery in Canada, Kentucky. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Hazel Marie Church (Photograph), 78, of Ransom, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2007 at Williamson Memorial Hospital in Williamson, West Virginia.
Born April 18, 1929 in Sidney, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Fannie Maynard.
Hazel was a homemaker and member of the Leckieville Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving her are her husband Sylvanis Church of Ransom; one son Garrett G. Church for Fremont, North Carolina; sisters: Pearlie May of Sidney, Kentucky and Bearthie Doss of Virginia Beach, Virginia; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Other than her parents preceding her in death are daughter Sylvia Jean Tignor; grandson, Christopher Thacker; and brothers and sisters: Trimble Maynard, Earl Maynard, Hie Maynard, Vernon Maynard, Clyde Maynard, Belvie Church, and Gracie Phillps.
Visitation is after 6:00 pm Thursday, June 21, 2007 and Friday, June 22, 2007 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky wit special services both evenings at 7:00 pm.
Funeral service is Saturday, June 23, 2007 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Lonnie Francis, Floyd Junior Church, and Lee Junior Dotson officiating. Burial is at Mountain View Memory Gardens in Huddy, Kentucky.
Pallbearers are James Thacker, Terry Thacker, Floyd Church, Elbert Junior Thacker, Eddie Dean Church, and Bobby Ray Church.
