Ethel Mae Akers, 79, of Hatfield, KY, passed away Friday, April 27, 2012 at the South
Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.
She was born March 14, 1933 in Pike County, Ky. the daughter of the late Marion and
Alta Blackburn Murphy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Chester Akers; a
daughter, Linda Akers; sisters, Thelma Marie Adams and Lucille Damron; brothers, Frank Porter and Charles Murphy and grandchildren, Janell Rogers and Michelle Lea Akers.
Ethel was a homemaker and of the Freewill Baptist Faith.
Survivors include daughters, Peggy (Jack) Hensley of Hatfield, Ky. and Melissa
(Dwayne) Huttenstine of Sidney, Ky.; sons, Ermel Lee Akers of Hatfield, Ky. and Gary Thomas Akers of Pikeville, Ky.; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and a host of family
and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, April 30, 2012 in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Earl White and Ray Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinson
Cemetery, Hatfield, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Saturday and Sunday at the Funeral Home with special
services Sunday night at 7 PM.

Joseph Ephraim (J.E.) Bogar, 84, of Narrows Branch, KY,
went to be with our Lord, Monday night, April 30, 2012, at the
South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.
J. E. was born November 8, 1927 at Narrows Branch, Ky. the
son of the late Ermil and Elsie Hatfield Bogar. He was also preceded
in death by brothers, L. D. Bogar, John Bogar and Tommy Bogar;
sisters, Magdalene (Elmer) Stacy, Ressie (Jack) Strange and Myrtie
Bogar and a brother-in-law, Glenn Brookhart.
J. E. was was a retired heavy equipment operator, a member
and deacon of the Bluesprings Freewill Baptist Church, a veteran of
the US Army having served in World War II and a member of Belfry Chapter #141 DAV.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Birdie Mae Bogar of Narrows Branch, Ky.;
children, Darryl (Brenda) Bogar of Hardy, Ky., Elsie Ann (Bert) Slater of Lake Wells, FL., Roy
(Brenda) Bogar of Grethel, Ky., Nedria (Paul) Stephenson of Huntington, WV, Roger (Mae)
Bogar, Tom Bogar and Walter (Debbie) Bogar all of Narrows Branch, Ky.; brothers, Roy Lee
(Lois) Bogar of Millard, Ky. and Ermil "Sonny" (Ruby) Bogar of Taylorsville, Ky.; sisters,
Gladys Brookhart of Lexington, Ky. and Ollie Caines of Brooksville, FL; sister-in-law, Jean
Bogar of Mt. Sterling, Ky.; thirteen grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; special friends, Jerry
and Carol Farley and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11 AM at the Bluesprings Freewill
Baptist Church with Emery Varney and Larry Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow in the
Bogar Cemetery, Narrows Branch, Ky. with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Belfry Chapter
#141 DAV will conduct Military Graveside Services.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Wednesday at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel and
after 4 PM Thursday at the Bluesprings Freewill Baptist Church with special services both
nights at 7 PM.

Jerry David Charles, 59, of Stone, KY, passed away Tuesday,
May 1, 2012, at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born April 4, 1953, to Pat May Charles of Stone, KY
and the late Clinton Charles. He was a disabled commercial truck driver, a member of the McAndrews Wesleyan Church and a veteran of
the U. S. Army.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his sons; Scott Charles of
Chester, VA, and Jonathan (Monica) Charles of Chester, VA, grandchildren: Brandon Clinton Charles and Nathaniel David Charles, sisters; Mary Ann Stumbo of Hillard, Ohio and Dena Bevins of Belfry,
KY, brother; Steven (Jackie) Charles of Ransom, KY., the love of his life; Caryn Helms of Forest Hills, KY, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Friday May 4, 2012 at the McAndrews Wesleyan Church with Pastor Ralph Feree officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memory
Gardens at Huddy, KY with Kelly Ramey, Emerson Varney, Donnie Gannon, Bob Scott, Steve
Gannon, David McVeigh, Jason Murphy and Robert Varney serving as pallbearers. Honorary
pallbearer will be Johnny Walters.
Visitation will be from 2 PM till 9 PM Thursday May 3, 2012 at the McAndrews Wesleyan Church.

Roy Hollis Robinette, 67, of Turkey Creek, KY, passed away
Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at King's Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Ky.
He was born June 23, 1944 at Varney, Ky. the son of the late
Butler and Vicie Canada Robinette. He was also preceded in death
by a brother, Tony Lee (King Fish) Robinette; two step brothers,
Luther and Johnny Goff and one great grandson, Peyton Riley Jude.
He was a disabled coal miner and a member of the Turkey
Creek Old Regular Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ora Pearlenia Williamson Robinette, whom he was married to for 46 years on April 30th; two daughters, Cindy (Larry) Elkins
of Canada, Ky. and Belinda (Deron) Elkins of Turkey Creek, Ky.; two sons, Roy Daniel Robinette of Brushy Creek, Ky. and Steven (Thrista) Robinette of Turkey Creek, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Alicia (Jessie) Jude, Brandy (Kevin) Marcum, Tabitha Elkins, Julia Rose (RoseBud)
Robinette, Daniel Blake Robinette, Kyle Elkins and Ryan Robinette; four great grandchildren,
Riley and Kaylee Jude and William and Jasmine Marcum; one sister, Martha Runyon of Pikeville, Ky.; one brother, Clifford (Joan) Robinette of Hatfield, Ky.; a special loved one, whom he
thought of as a son, Joseph (Little Joey) Walters and his daughter, Jaden I. Walters and a host of
nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 1 PM at the Turkey Creek Old
Regular Baptist Church with the Elders Danny Reed, Gary Young, Jack Robinette, Elbert Sesco
and Richard Staton officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery, Turkey Creek, Ky.
with Neil Fraley, Shawn Robinette, Randy Robinette, Larry Elkins, Deron Elkins, Scotty
Thomas, Ferrell Thomas, Mike Johnson and Clifton Robinette serving as pallbearers. Honorary
pallbearers are Elbert Hannah, Steve Varney, Roy Delong, Mark Webb, Bill Lowe, Freddie
Murphy, Calvin Lewis, Jack Robinette and James Hardin.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Friday and Saturday at the Church with special services
both nights at 7 PM.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers please make donations to R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home.

Frank William Pacific Jr., 69 of Williamson, WV, and formerly of
Caryville, Florida passed away Friday May 4, 2012 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born August 20, 1942 at Williamson, WV the son of the
late Frank William Pacific Sr. and Hazel Parsley Pacific.
Frank is survived by his wife, Gaynell Pacific; son, Christopher
Frank Pacific of Duffield, Va.; brother, David (Brenda) Pacific of Forest
Hills, Ky.; sister, Virginia Justice of Clarksville, Tn.; grandson, Kevin
Pacific of Gate City, Va.; neices, Karla Elliott of Smithville, Mo. and Michelle Stuart of
Clarksville Tn. and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 7, 2012 at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Bob Finch officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory
Gardens, Maher, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home Chapel.

Tonia Rose Bevins, 44, of Hatfield, KY, passed away Tuesday,
May 8, 2012, at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born August 5, 1967, in Cleveland, Ohio to George and
Betty Horn Farley of Versailles, KY, formerly of Forest Hills, KY. She
was a housewife, a graduate of Belfry High School in 1985 and a member
of the Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church. Besides her parents she
is survived by her husband; Paul Bevins Jr., two sons; Paul Andrew
Bevins and Nathaniel Chase Bevins of the home, two sisters; Amy
Michelle (Todd) Berndt of Nicholasville, Ky. and Jennifer Farley of Lexington, Ky., three nieces; Savanna Prewitt, Gracie Prewitt and Makenna Rose, one nephew;
Jordan Barbery and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Friday May 11, 2012 at the Pilgrim Home
Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow at
Monty Bevins Cemetery, Hatfield, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday night at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with special
services at 7 PM and after 10 AM Friday at the church.

Joyce Faye Blackburn, 81, of McAndrews, KY, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at
University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, Ky.
She was born May 5, 1931 at McAndrews, Ky. the daughter of the late Shock Leon and Bessie
Bridgeman Hackney. She was also preceded in death by her son, Barry Lawson Blackburn and
a half brother, Leon "Junior" Hackney.
Joyce was retired from the G. C. Murphy Company after 25 years and was a longtime
member of the Octavia Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Kathy Robinson of McAndrews, Ky.; nephews,
Donald Varney of McAndrews, Ky. and Kenneth Hackney; special cousin, Corine Marshall of
Yakmo, WA and a host of other cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Gerria Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View
Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky with Darrell Robinson, Scott Runyon, Cecil Taylor, Larry Hackney, Jimmy Blackburn and Dane Robinson serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Friday at the Funeral Home Chapel with services at 7
PM with Gary Hackney.

Janet Gail Trout, 71, of Hardy, KY, passed away Saturday
May 12, 2012, at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born April 13, 1941 at Williamson, W.V. to the late
Dave and Delcie Adkins Williams. She is also preceded in death by
one daughter; Angela Williams and three sisters; Juanita Matney,
Edna Truskowski and Kay Bevins.
She was a wife, mother, homemaker and a member of the
Leckieville Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband; T. J. Trout, sons; Bryan (Janet) Harris of Lucasville, Ohio and Doyal (Loretta) Williams of
Hardy, Ky. daughters; Neta (Dave) Mullins of Red Jacket, W.V., Emma (Ron) Helton of Lucasville, Ohio and Penny Barker (John Chapman) of Hardy, Ky. brothers; Don Williams of
Gordon, Ga., Gordon Wallace of Goody, Ky., and Ricky Williams of Gordon, Ga., sisters;
Minnie Goins of Aflex, Ky., and Sue Williams of Aflex, Ky., and a host of grandchildren, great
grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday May 15, 2012 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Donnie Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memory
Gardens at Huddy, Ky. with John Chapman, Scotty Williams, B. J. Wallace, B. T. Harris, Bill
Williams, David Goins and Doug Cassell serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday night at the funeral home with special services at 7
PM.
