Laura Frances Callahan Mullins, 97, of Lick Creek, West Virginia, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg, Kentucky.
She was born June 9, 1915 in Mingo County, West Virginia a daughter of the late Frank
Peter Callahan and Ida Mae Starr Callahan. Besides he parents she was preceded in death by her
husband, Clarence Thomas Mullins; two daughters Rita Moticimos and Patsy Cooper; two
brothers, Garland Callahan and Richard Callahan; two sisters, Jean Callahan and Nellie Smith;
two half sisters, Faye Phillips and Leslie Phillips; one half brother, Othur Phillips.
She was the last seamstress at the Cox Department Store and also a cook at the YMCA.
She is survived by four daughters, Betty (George) Ebaugh of Fort Myers, Florida, June
(Donald) Herbert of Imlay City, Michigan, Ruby Rutherford of Louisa, Kentucky, and Carol (
Julius Cooper) Ferrell of Canada, Kentucky; five sons, Dallas (Caroline) Mullins of Roanoke
Rapids, North Carolina, Thomas (Tina) Mullins of Flint, Michigan, Peter Mullins of Canada,
Kentucky, Terry (Shirley) Mullins of Lick Creek, West Virginia, and Jerry (Connie) Mullins of
Lick Creek, West Virginia, thirty grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and several
great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Monday, October 8, 2012 at R.E Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Gary Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Kentucky with Dallas Mullins, Peter Mullins, Jerry Mullins, Terry Mullins, Julius
Cooper and Josh Ferrell servings as Pall Bearers.
Visitation will be held after 5 PM Sunday at R.E Rogers Funeral Home Chapel.

Inge Koch, 91 of Turkey Creek, Kentucky, died Saturday, October 6, 2012.
She was born to the late Ferdinand Gustav Oskar and Gisela Kniepf, September 7, 1921
in Pontianak, West Borneo. Inge grew up in the Dutch East Indies, living on her family's rubber
plantations in Borneo and Java until the outbreak of World War II. She spent some time in a
Dutch internment camp before moving to China, where she lived for the rest of the war, working as a nurse's aide in a Chinese Hospital.
She met her future husband, Christian Budick Koch in 1945, in Shanghai, China while he
was on active duty with the United States Army Air Corps. They were married in Melbourne,
Australia, in 1947. She became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1954. They lived
together in Morgantown, West Virginia from 1951 until Christian's death in 1986.
Inge is survived by three children; John Koch of Alexandria, Virginia, Michael Koch of
Turkey Creek, Kentucky and Thomas Koch of Williamson, West Virginia.
Inge led a very interesting life. She was fluent in several languages and had traveled all
over the world. She maintained active correspondence with her numerous friends and relatives
in many different countries. She contributed to charities in the United States, Indonesia and Africa. Inge recently published her memoir, Born in Borneo.

Brooklyn Jade Davis, daughter of Noah and Elizabeth (Beth Russell) Davis, was called
home Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 5:44 AM and met the eyes of Jesus at 5:44 AM the same day.
Heaven's gain was our loss when our angel was called by our Lord. Brooklyn Jade came
into this world too soon and was taken too soon. Out little angel is being greeted with open
arms in heaven by her precious Maternal Great-Grandmother, Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Dillon.
In addition to her parents Brooklyn Jade will be sadly missed by her Maternal Grandparents, Roger and Ethel Russell; Paternal Grandparents, Monroe and Dreama Davis; Maternal
Great-Grandparents, Donald & (the late) Mary Elizabeth Dillon and (the late) Jerome and June
Russell; Paternal Great-Grandparents, Winferd and (the late) Elizabeth Hall and Mary and (the
late) Ray Davis. Aunts and Uncles, Melissa (Matt) Smith, Dewayne (Sonya) Dillon, Kayla
(Brian) Lucas, Phillip (Sandy) Davis, Randy Davis and Brian (Nicole) Davis. Special cousins,
Arionna Elizabeth Smith, Braiden Lucas, RaeAnna and Shae Dillon and a host of Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 2 PM at the Dillon Family Cemetery, Burnwell, Ky. with Charles Delbert McCoy and Paul Ray Davis officiating.

Elizabeth Reed Hunt, 69 of Belfry, KY, passed away Sunday
morning, October 7, 2012 at UK Medical Center, Lexington, Ky.
Liz was born May 3, 1943 at Hardy, Ky. the daughter of America
Scott Reed of Hardy, Ky. and the late Woodrow Reed.
Liz was retired from the Pike County Board of Education, where
she was a teacher at Belfry High School and she was also a member of
Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Williamson, WV.
Other than her Mother, she is survived by her loving husband,
James C. Hunt Sr. of Belfry, Ky.; son, James C. Hunt II of Belfry, Ky.; sisters, Phyllis Jean Hill
of Naples, Florida and Sadie Marie Chapman of Lexington, Ky.; grandson, Nicholas Hunt of
Belfry, Ky. and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 11 AM at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church with Father Hoppy officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View
Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. with Jimmy Hunt, Nick Hunt, John Fred Hunt II, Don Hill,
Ricky Neil Scott, Keith Baldwin and Tyler Bostic serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers
will be Mike Scott, Mikey Scott, Earl Scott, Shannon Chapman, Craig Chapman, Lester Reed,
Steve Hunt, Lesley Hunt, Eddie Nenni and John Fred Hunt Sr.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Tuesday at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel.

Millard Oscar Mann, 55 of McCarr, KY, passed away October 10, 2012 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV.
He was born November 7, 1956 in Mingo County, WV the son of the late Glenn and
Wanda Gooslin Mann. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Campanella.
He was a former coal miner and a member of Faith Mission Church, McCarr, Ky.
Survivors include his wife, Lois June Mann of McCarr, Ky.; daughters, Jamie Ann Mann
of Aflex, Ky. and Joyce Maynard of Kermit, WV; sisters, Sheila Smith of Lexington, Ky. and
Mary Warner of McCarr, Ky.; brother, Randall Mann of McCarr, Ky.; grandchildren, Kennedy
Farra, Kinser Gage Bench and three other grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 15, 2012 at 1 PM at the Faith Mission
Church, McCarr, Ky. with Brother Jimmy Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Gooslin
Family Cemetery, McCarr, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 P.M. Saturday and Sunday with special services both nights at 7 P.M.

Ben Bernie Hubbard, age 59, was born July 14, 1953 in Williamson,
WV and departed this life October 10, 2012 at Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, Ky.
He is survived by his parents Earl and Dorothy Clay Brown of South
Williamson, Ky.; children, Meagan Marie Hubbard of Houston, TX, Alisha
(Cory) McGee of Forney, TX and son Gerald Hendrik of Lewisville, TX;
grandchildren, Trenton and Dylan McGee of Forney, TX; sister, Dona (Larry) Sinigiani of San Francisco, CA; aunts and uncles, Bille Lou and the late
Ray Frazier of Lexington, Ky., Shirley May and the late Ron May of McAndrews, Ky., Ralph
and Barbara Clay of Forney, TX, Mary Dean and Mike Brown of Norton, VA; many loving
cousins and special friends, Bill and Rebecca Frazier of Williamson, WV.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bert and Marie Clay and paternal
grandfather, Charles E. Hubbard.
He had been employed in hospitals in Dallas, TX and San Francisco, CA as an X-ray
technician and also worked in nuclear medicine.
Per his request, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date by the family.

Bernard Yates, 79 of Merrimac, WV passed away Friday, october 12, 2012 at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born December 26, 1932 in Mingo County, WV the son of the late Ermal and
Lillian Yates. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Whitt Yates: Ex-wife, Mattie
Yates; several brothers and sisters.
Bernard was formerly employed by General Dymnamic of Conn. and he is a member of
the Cornerstone Church of Matewan, WV.
He is survived by seven daughters, Debra McCoy, Shelia Huffman, Nevada Fuller,
Elithie Bennette, Bernice Hance, Earlene Left and Donna Yates; two sons, Melvin McCoy and
Gary Justice; one sister, Martha Manning; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren
and a host of friends.
Graveside services will be held Friday October 19, 2012 at 11 AM at Mt. View Memory
Gardens, Huddy, Kentucky with Buddy Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Wednesday and Thursday at R.E. Rogers
Funeral Home.

Lou Ellen Patton, 61 of Sidney, Ky. passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012 at her residence.
She was born June 12, 1951 at Sidney, Ky. the daugher of the late Glen Hayes and Bessie
Elizabeth Lyons Morris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oakley B. Patton,
brothers, Johnny Michael Morris and Stevie Alfred Morris and sister, Melisha Jean Morris.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Belfry Chapter #141
Disabled American Veterans and a member of the Yeager Church of Christ.
Survivors include step daughters, Teresa, Tammy, Tina and Tanya; step son and caregiver, Tim Patton of Paintsville, Ky.; sisters, Jemima Kay (Clyde) Stiltner of Jenkins, Ky. and Evelyn Sue (Homer) Black of Sidney, Ky.; her aunt and special caregiver, Francis Morris; nephews,
Chuck Allen (Sharon) Morris and Joshua Clyde Stiltner; niece, Katie Sue Ellen Stiltner; host of
step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 2 PM in the R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home Chapel with Dan Fraley officiating. Burial will follow in the Morris Family
Cemetery, Sidney, Ky. with nephews and family serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Tuesday in the Funeral Home Chapel.
