Dee Compton Comer, 61 of Forest Hills, KY, passed away Wednesday May 28, 2014 at her
residence. She was born December 9, 1952 at McVeigh, KY, to the late Bob and Cora Murphy
Compton. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Willie Robert Compton. Dee was a
homemaker; a graduate of Belfry High School Class of 1971 and a member of Main Street Church of Christ, Pikeville, Ky.
Survivors include her husband, Timothy Jack Comer of Forest Hills, KY; sisters, Anna Fern
Compton of Hardy, KY and Bonnie Lowery of Columbus, Ohio; nephew, D. R. Harmon of
Logan, WV; nieces, Cindy Compton, Robin Compton, Tina Bowe, Margie Thacker and Billie
Jean Lowery; her special pet, a Morkie named Macie Grace and she will be missed by many friends.
Per her request she will be cremated. Her final wish is going to be fulfilled as her remains
will be interred between her parents at Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY at 10 AM
Monday, June 23, 2014.

Willis Lowe, age 92, of Turkey Creek, KY died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Appalachian
Regional Hospital, South Williamson, Ky.
He was born at Martin County, Ky. on March 23, 1922 the son of the late Everette Lowe and
Ora Blackburn Lowe.
He was a retired disabled coal miner; member of the United Mine Workers of America; a U.
S. Army Veteran and a member of the Mary Elizabeth Old Regular Baptist Church since
October 17, 1976.
He leaves behind his wife, Lyda Mae Maynard Lowe of Turkey Creek Ky. whom he married
on December 13, 1943. They had one son, Kermit Reford Lowe of Mio, Michigan; one
daughter, Beatrice Loretta Sesco of Turkey Creek, Ky. and a good son-in-law, Ernest Sesco,
that stood by him till the end. He leaves a special good friend, James Maynard of Turkey Creek,
Ky.; his close neighbors, Steve and Leann Maynard of Turkey Creek, Ky.; granddaughters,
Oliesiea Tonda (Kirby) Case of Sidney, Ky., Belinda (Danny) Smith of Sidney, Ky. and
Priscilla Lowe of Michigan; grandsons, Brian (Kriste) Phillips of Paintsville, Ky. and Tracy
Lowe of Michigan; great grandchildren, Alexzandria Phillips, Liesiea Case, Sydney Smith and
Little Samantha Jade Smith. He will be missed by all. He was also preceded in death by three
brothers, Emzy, Grat and Granville Lowe; two sisters, Mida James and Emma Lowe and a great
grandson, Andrew Bennett Case who died on Christmas Day 2009.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 2, 2014 at 11 AM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Hobert Hamilton, Danny Runyon and other Old Regular Baptist Ministers
officiating. Burial will follow in the Maynard-Runyon Cemetery, Piso, Ky. with family and
friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 9 PM Saturday and Sunday at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home
Chapel with special services both nights at 7 PM.

Dallas Ray May, 67 of Williamson, WV passed away Tuesday morning, June 3, 2014 at his home.
He was born May 8, 1947 at Huddy, Ky. the son of the late Jonah and Nolecca Blackburn
May. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Denvia "Denny" May and sister, Kathy Joe May.
Dallas was a retired salesman and a Veteran of the US Army having served in the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy June May of Williamson, WV; son, Dallas R. May
II of Huddy, Ky.; daughter, Denvia (Todd) Wallace of Ragland, WV; brothers, Jonah May of
Huddy, Ky., Roger May and Larry May both of Knox, Indiana and Bryan May of Rome, New
York; sisters, Velva Ball of Johns Creek, Ky., Alice DeMurray of Ball Fork, Ky. and Shelia
May of Cleveland, Ohio; grandsons, Dallas R. May III and Brady Wallace and a host of other
loving family and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday and Friday from 6 - 9 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel. Per his request after visitation he will be cremated.

Nevaeh Grace Elkins infant daughter of Timothy and Glendine Gillman Elkins of Turkey
Creek, Ky. passed away shortly after birth Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
Other than her parents, she is survived by four sisters, Ashlee Elkins, Miranda Howard,
Hannah Elkins and Ameisha Adkins; niece, Aironna Howard; maternal grandparents, Marie
Gillman and Ronnie Gillman of Thacker, WV; paternal grandmother, Ella Mae Elkins of Rawl,
WV and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal
grandfather, Russell Elkins.
Visitation will be held at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel from 11 AM - 12:30 PM
Wednesday, June 4, 2014 with graveside services to follow at Gillman Cemetery, Hatfield, Ky.
with Danny Lucas officiating.

Mary Marie Mickey, age 92 of Pinsonfork, Ky. passed away Monday
June 2, 2014 at her residence. She was born September 17, 1921 at
Blackberry, KY, to the late Thomas and Flora Dotson Hager. She is also
preceded in death by her husband; Ray Mickey, son; Darrell Ward,
grandson; Michael Darrell Ward, step-daughter; Dixie Mickey, step-son;
David Lee Mickey and several brothers and sisters.
She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She
was a chartered member of the McVeigh United Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons; Lawson Ward of McVeigh, KY, and Ray
(Sue) Mickey of McVeigh, KY, daughters; Patty (Randy) Griffith of Feds
Creek, KY and Judy (Larry) Hensley of McVeigh, KY, step-sons; Roy (Donna) Mickey of CA
and Dennis (Dianne) Mickey of CA, brother; James (Joann) Ward of Kimper, KY, sister; Barb
(Bill) Harris of Kimper, KY, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, seven greatgreat grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Friday June 6, 2014 at the McVeigh United
Baptist Church with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View
Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY with family serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday and Thursday night at the church with special
services at 7 PM both nights with special singing by Larry Henlsey.

Will Andrew Johnson, 17 month old son of Will Johnson and
Jennifer Rebecca Evans Johnson of Williamson, WV passed away
Saturday, May 31, 2014 in the Emergency Room of the Williamson Memorial Hospital.
He was born December 4, 2012 at South Williamson, Ky.
Other than his parents he is survived by two sisters, Brooklin Johnson
and Brionna Akers; maternal grandparents, Edna Scott and Butch Scott
of Chattaroy, WV; paternal grandmother, Cora Ratcliff of South
Carolina, Dennie Johnson of Williamson and Martha and John Netherly
of Williamson, WV, aunts and uncles, Tammie (Ronnie) Robinson of
Chattaroy, WV; Amanda (James) Gilliland of Belfry, KY; cousins, Joshua and Jeremy
Robinson and Haley Browning of Belfry, KY and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Nancy White and Frankie White;
cousins, Calab Robinson and Debra Robinson and his great aunt, Pauline White.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11 AM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Timothy Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Lackey Cemetery,
Lenore, WV with Will Johnson, Darrell White, Jerry Fields and Ronnie Robinson serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 9 PM Thursday and Friday at the Funeral Home with special
services 7 PM Thursday with Freewill Baptist Ministers and 7 PM Friday with Old Regular
Baptist Ministers.

Joan Brown Slone, 70 of Williamson, WV, passed away Sunday June 8, 2014 at her
residence.
She was born June 16, 1943 at Kistler, WV, to the late John Henry and Mary Jane Ferguson
Brown. She is also preceded in death by her beloved and unforgotten son; Gregory Gene
(Spanky) Slone, brother; Eddie Paul Brown and sisters; Florence Newlon, Kay Brown and Patsy Bodine.
She was a retired Registered Nurse at Williamson Memorial Hospital and a member of the
Chattaroy Church of God.
She is survived by her husband; Hearl Gene Slone of Williamson, WV, daughter; Lisa (Joe)
Fields of McCarr, KY, daughter-in-law; Ramona Ann Slone of Madison, WV, caregiver and
sister; Phyllis Mills of MS, sisters; Catherine Guice of OK, Janice Vance of TX, Mae Walker of
MS, and Sue Hyfte of TX, grandchildren; Dr. Jeanne Fields of Morgantown, WV, Joeseph
Ryan (Tamara Gooslin) Fields of Goody, KY, Jamie (Robbie) Gilmour of Madison, WV, Alex
Slone of Madison, WV, and Ricky Slone of Madison, WV, great grandchildren; Alexia
Gilmour, Jocelyn Gilmour, Robin Gilmour and Ryan Christopher Fields and a host of loving
family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at Noon Tuesday June 10, 2014 at the Chattaroy Church
of God with Mike Bostic officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memory Gardens at
Huddy, KY, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 P.M. Monday June 9, 2014 at the Chattaroy Church of God with
special services at 7 P.M.

Ronald Lee Crawford, 60 of Cedar Bluff, VA formerly of Ransom, KY
died Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Stella Faye (Justice) Crawford.
He was born August 28, 1953 at Mingo County, WV the son of the late
Thomas and Goldene (Coleman) Crawford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter,
Jeana Lana Crawford and a brother, Gary Crawford.
He was an Elder at the Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Gray, TN and
also a disabled coal miner and former member of Local Union 1440
UMWA.
Other survivors include one daughter, Tonya Lea Garst and good companion, Dean Taylor
of Lebanon, VA and a son, William Chad (Jennifer) Crawford of Jonesborough, TN; one
brother, Timmy (Connie) Crawford of McVeigh, KY; a sister, Carolyn (Harry) Sansom of
Matewan, WV.
He was the dearest grandfather of Hannah Brooke Crawford, Holly Grace Crawford, Isaac
Cole Crawford, Sara Ann Garst and Darin Taylor. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews,
aunts, uncles, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
Plead my hope. These were about the last words Brother Ronnie said. This hope has a
name. His name is JESUS. Brother Ronnie pleaded to this hope with a name, not for him but
for the sheep. Let us all pleed to Ronnie's hope for all our troubles and all our joy in this life.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Elder Eunice Davis and Aaron Williams officiating. Burial will follow in
the Hatfield Cemetery at Ransom, KY with Roy Justice, Roger Scott, Jordan Justice, Nathan
Sansom, Tyler Justice and Frank Dana Hager serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 5 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home Chapel with special services
at 6 PM directed by Elder Jack Horne and Elder Phillip Addington.
