H. B. Breeding, 84 of Hardy, Ky. passed away Tuesday evening, September 9, 2014 at the
Trinity Healthcare in Williamson, WV.
He was born July 26, 1930 at Hardy, Ky. the son of the late Evans and Pearl Presley
Breeding. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Erwin Breeding, Joe Clair Breeding
and Beechel Breeding.
Survivors include one brother, Robert (Louise) Breeding of Alexandria, Ohio; two sisters,
Lori Dutton of Inverness, FL and Mildred Joyce Moorman of Hardy, Ky.; a host of nieces,
nephews and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 2 PM in the R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Cope and David Walston officiating. Burial will
follow in the Family Cemetery, Hardy, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 12, 2014 from 7 - 9 PM in the Funeral Home
Chapel.

Larry "Big Time" Blackburn, 70 of Pinsonfork, Ky. passed away Sunday morning,
September 14, 2014 in Concord, North Carolina.
He was born January 10, 1944 the son of the late Woodrow W. and Merle Smith Blackburn.
He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Marji "Bunny" Blackburn and two brothers,
Byron Neil Blackburn and Gary Dale "Judge" Blackburn.
He was a retired coal miner, a member of Stone Heritage and a member of the McAndrews
Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include two sons, Chris (Angie) Blackburn of Kannapolis, NC and Brent Michael
(Freddie Ann) Sexton Blackburn of Jamaica; one brother, Jimmy R. Blackburn of Chattaroy,
WV; two grandchildren, Hope and Tyler Blackburn; God son, Ethan Copley of Lenore, WV
and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 2 PM in the R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Pope, J. R. Blackburn and Ralph Feree officiating. Burial will
follow in the Rutherford Cemetery, Huddy, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Blackburn and Ethan Copley.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 6 - 9 PM in the Funeral Home
Chapel.

English David Reed, 70 of Turkey Creek, KY, passed away Wednesday September 17, 2014
at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born July 9, 1944 at Turkey Creek, KY, to the late Leroy "Cat" and Leo Marie
Blackburn Reed. He is also preceded in death by his wife; Mary Alice Reed, one brother;
George Matthew Reed.
He was a salesman and worked in the parts department at Thompson's Truck and Equipment
at South Williamson, Ky. and a member of the Turkey Creek Old Regular Baptist Church.
He is survived by one son; David Leroy Reed of Turkey Creek, KY, one daughter; Donna
Lynn (David) Smith of Stone, KY, one brother; Ellery (Carla) Reed of Turkey Creek, KY, one
sister; Betty Harris of Turkey Creek, KY; grandchildren, Christopher Alexander Smith, Allison
June Marie Smith and Austin Devin Smith and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 11 AM at the Turkey Creek
Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow
in the Family Cemetery, Long Branch, Turkey Creek, Ky. with family and friends serving as
pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Friday and Saturday night after 6 PM at the Turkey Creek Old
Regular Baptist Church with special services both nights at 7 PM.

Ethel Clevenger, 89, of Canada, KY, passed away Friday September
19, 2014 at Pikeville Medical Center. She was born September 23, 1924 at
Grapevine, KY, to the late W. R. and Lydia Honaker Justice. She is
preceded in death by her husband; Andrew Clevenger, one son; Thomas
Lee Clevenger; two brothers and four sisters.
She was a homemaker and of the Primitive Baptist Faith.
She is survived by one son; Clyde Clevenger of Canada, KY, and a
host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 P.M. Monday September 22,
2014 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Primitive Baptist Ministers
officiating. Burial will follow at the Justice Family Cemetery, Canada, KY, with family and
friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 P.M. Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home with special services
at 7 P.M. both nights.

William Keith Smith, 59, of Canada, KY, passed away Saturday, September, 13, 2014 at his
residence.
He was born September 24, 1954 at Canada, KY, to Myrtle Davenport Smith and the late
Clifford Smith. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Smith.
He was a general laborer in the lawn care business.
Besides his mother, he is survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and others
family and friends.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Sunday September 21, 2014 at Smith
Cemetery, Sidney, KY.

John L. Smith, 76 of Borderland, WV passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 at the
Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born April 3, 1938 at Belfry, Ky. the son of the late Oakie and Stella May Smith. He
was also preceded in death by brothers, Bobby Smith and James Smith and a sister, Blanche
Hicks.
He was a retired employee of Appalachian Regional Healthcare Maintenance Department
having worked for 30 years. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Juanita Poquet Smith of Borderland, WV;
three children, Wanda (Lonnie) Phillips of Wise, VA, Vickie (Walter) Sullivan of Borderland,
WV and John L. Smith Jr. of Borderland, WV; brother, Frank Smith of Borderland, WV; three
grandchildren, Melinda (Shawn) Rice of South Carolina, Andrew Marcum of Wise, VA and
Megan Sullivan of Borderland, WV; four great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 6 - 9 in the Funeral Home Chapel.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 12 Noon at Mountain
View Memory Gardens, Maher, WV with Earl White officiating. Pallbearers will be family and
friends.

Connie Sue Mahon Stepp, 67, of Beech Creek, WV, passed away Tuesday, September 23,
2014 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
She was born March 13, 1947 at Beech Creek, WV, to the late Everette Kennedy and
Jeanette Mahon. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her; Lee and
Effie Mahon, her husband; Norman Douglas Stepp, and two brothers; Barrett "Fuz" Kennedy
and Thomas Kennedy.
She was a cook at Matewan Elementary School, a beautician and a member of the Beech
Creek Church of Christ.
She is survived by one daughter; Tina Collins of Varney, WV, one son; Norman Douglas
(Paige) Stepp II of Beech Creek, WV, three brothers; Charlie Kennedy of Beech Creek, WV,
Ronald "Bo" (Audrey) Kennedy of Beech Creek, WV, and Everette "Bruce" (Brenda) Kennedy
of Beech Creek, WV, mother-in-law; Kathleen Stepp of Rawl, WV, three grandchildren;
Madison Dingess, Parker Collins and Alyssa Stepp and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Friday, September 26, 2014 at R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home with Ed Lockard officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memory
Gardens, Maher, WV, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 until 9 PM Thursday night at the funeral home.

Earnest Harmon "Muggins" Johnson, 56 of Lafollette, TN formerly of
Aflex, Ky. passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the University
of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville, TN surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born July 24, 1958 in Williamson, WV the son of Bonnie Jean
Thompson Johnson of Hardy, Ky. and the late Roscoe Tracy Johnson.
He was employed as a conductor by the N. & W. Railroad; a member
of the Defiers Motorcycle Club of Stone, KY and a graduate of Belfry
High School Class of 1976. He was saved and is now in the arms of his
Loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Other than his Mother he is survived by Karen Wright of Lafollette, TN; his loving daughter,
Tracy Johnson of Somerset, KY; brother, Mark Johnson of Burnwell, KY; sisters, Pamela
(Randall) Chapman of Hardy, KY, Jennifer (Billy Ray) Hall of Delbarton, WV and Amy
Johnson of Slaters Branch, KY and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home Chapel with Lee Dotson officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mountain
View Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Huddy, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 6 - 9 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel.
