Tony Smith Jr. 82, of McAndrews, KY passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the home of his daughter, Debbie Mullins.
Tony was born March 6, 1929 at Pinsonfork, Ky. to the late Tony Smith Sr. and Annie Coleman Smith. Tony is also preceded in death by his wife; Edith Varney Smith and one brother; York Smith Sr. He was a truck driver for Old Ben Coal Company, a member of the U.M.W.A. and a member of the Pinsonfork Church of God for 47 years.
He is survived by one daughter; Debbie (Roger) Mullins, one son; Gregory M. Smith, two grandchildren; Shawn (Natalie) Mullins and Ryan (Micah) Mullins, three great grandchildren; Taygan Mullins, Colby Mullins and Todd Blackburn, one brother; Ransom Smith, three sisters; Margaret Hatfield, Gladys Boyer and Maggie Holbrook, and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday April 30, 2011 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, KY, with David Kilburn officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky with Shawn Mullins, Ryan Mullins, Taygan Mullins, Colby Mullins, Todd Blackburn and Steve Varney serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday night at the funeral home.

James W. Smith 83, of McVeigh, KY passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital.
James was born May 30, 1927 in Martin County, Ky to the late James and Sadie Dalton Smith. James is also preceded in death by one son; Michael W. Smith and five brothers; Clyde Smith, Deming Smith, Okey Smith, Arnold Smith and Prent Smith.
James was a retired coal miner at Eastern Coal, a member of the U.M.W.A., a member of the McAndrews Church of Christ and a veteran of the U. S. Army for 4 years and the U. S. Navy for 8 years.
James if survived by his wife; Ethel Kennedy Smith, one daughter; Lisa Smith of McVeigh, KY, one brother; Don Smith of Thornville, OH, five sisters; Florence Cains of Lancaster, OH, Geneva Faulkner of Graveport, OH, Nell Howell of Beauty, Ky, Sue Jude of Beauty, KY, and Connie Adams of Blacklick, Oh, two step brothers; Garland Muncy of Beauty, Ky, and Ance Muncy Jr. of Zanesville, Oh, and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday May 1, 2011 at the McAndrews Church of Christ with Joe Cochran officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Vierw Memory Gardens at Huddy, Ky. Pallbearers will be Larry Cains, Randy Howell, Anthony Preston, Ron Hepler, James Howell, Gary Scott, Ronnie Lester and Jason Smith.
Visitation will be after 6 P.M. Friday and Saturday night at the McAndrews Church of Christ with special services Friday night at 7 P.M. with Donnie Estep officiating and Saturday night at 7 P.M. with David Parsley officiating.

Margie Thompson, 89, of McAndrews, KY passed away Thursday morning at the Appalachian Regional Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.
She was born in Pike County, KY to the late Floyd and Fannie Maynard Gillman. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Andy Thompson, daughter; Linda Mullins, sons: Harold Thompson and Freddie Ray Thompson, several brothers and sisters.
She was a homemaker, a cook at Belfry High School and member of the Belfry Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters; Ethel Fahler of Wooster, OH, Mable Webb of Farmington Hills, MI and Bonnie Williams of Wooster, OH, one son; Irvin Thompson of Smithville, OH, one brother; Boyd Gillman of Cincinnati, OH, nine grandchildren; Crystal Robinette, Rachel Workman, Dennis Robinette Jr., Wallace Robinette, Robert Robinette, Debbie Williams, Joe Thompson, Christina Mast and Rodney Mullins, ten Great Grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be conducted at 1 PM Sunday May 1, 2011 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Buddy Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memory Gardens at Huddy, Ky with family members serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held after 6 PM Saturday at the Funeral Home Chapel with special services at 7 PM.

Tommy Blackburn Jr., 74, of Turkey Creek, KY, passed away Thursday April 28, 2011 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born April 24, 1936 in Martin County, KY, to the late Tommy Blackburn Sr., and Judy Howard Blackburn. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother; Arnold Blackburn.
He was a coal miner for Osborne Mining and a member of the Turkey Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife; Joanne Preece Blackburn, two brothers; Lawyer Blackburn of Adamsville, Fl, and Willie Blackburn of Turkey Creek, Ky, one sister; Ora Blackburn of Turkey Creek, KY, and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 Am Monday at the Turkey Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Jimmy Stanley, Mikey Smith and Gary Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow at the Family Cemetery at Turkey Creek, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be after 6 PM Saturday and Sunday night at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with special services both nights at 7 PM.

Thomas Ricky Sellards, 48, of Pinsonfork, KY passed away Saturday, April 30, 2011 at his home.
He was born August 15, 1962 at Huntington, WV the son of Ras Raymond and Eleanor Sue Runyon Sellards of Columbia Station, Ohio.
He was a former employee of the Laborers Union, removing asbestos. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Annette Spielburger.
Other survivors include one daughter, Ashley (Justen) Cross of Paintsville, Ky.: one sister, Nell (Darrell) Cornell of Columbia Station, Ohio; two brothers, Ronald (Naomi) Sellards of Pinsonfork, Ky. and Raymond (Cathy) Sellards of Columbia Station, Ohio; brother-in-law, Doug Spielburger of Columbia Station, Ohio and two grandchildren, Gianna and Ashten Cross.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 11 AM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Shane and Shawn Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Runyon Cemetery, Pinsonfork, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held after 6 PM Monday, May 2, 2011 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with special services at 7 PM.

Lerlie Marie Barton, 75, of Sidney, KY passed away Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the residence of her daughter at Sidney, Ky.
She was born May 5, 1935 in Pike County, Ky. the daughter of the late Ebb and Betty Varney Slone. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Curtis Chapman and Stacy Barton; two sons, two brothers and one sister.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Regular Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Young of Sidney, Ky. and Brenda Perrigan of Pikeville, Ky.; one son, Tony Chapman of Pikeville, Ky.; one brother, Leonard Slone of Zebulon, Ky.; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 1 PM at the Brushy Creek Baptist Church with John George Blackburn and Jack Justice officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery, Sidney, Ky. Visitation after 3:30 PM Tuesday at the Brushy Baptist Church.

Robert Anderson Ball, 61, of Pinsonfork, KY passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born February 28, 1950 in Pike County, Ky. the son of the late Joseph McKinley and Jane Varney Ball.
He was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. He was a carpenter, a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and and veteran of the US Army.
He is survived by his wife, Kilcha Cho Ball of Pinsonfork, Ky.; three sons, James McKinley Ball of North Carolina, William Robert Ball of Stopover, Ky. and Joseph Matthew Ball of Stone, Ky.; one sister, Kathleen Grizzle of WV; tthree brothers, Franklin Grizzle of Tennessee, R. C. Grizzle of Virginia and Truman Grizzle of Wisconsin and fifteen grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Raymond Stanley, Kenny Chapman, Larry Slone and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Sullivan Family Cemetery, Pinsonfork, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Belfry D.A.V. Chapter #141 will have Military graveside services. Visitation will be held after 6 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with special services at 7 PM.

Jean Ann Thacker, 79, of Canada, KY passed away Sunday night, May 1, 2011 in The Rockcastle Hospital, Mt. Vernon, Ky.
She was born December 17, 1931 in Pike County, Ky. the daughter of the late John and Gertrude Smith Thacker, She was also preceded in death by a brother, David B. Thacker and a nephew, David Eugene Thacker.
Jean Ann was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Old Regular Baptist Church since 1956. She was a retired school teacher with the Pike County Board of Education for fifty years, having taught 34 years and then was a substitute teacher for 16 years from 1985 to 2001.
Survivors include one brother, Bobby (Cora Sue) Thacker of Bethel, Ohio; sister-in-law, Florene Thacker of Canada, Ky.; niece, Deidra (Greg) Williamson of Canada, Ky.; nephew, Robert (Patty) Thacker of Bethel, Ohio; great nieces, Bethel Renee (Josh) Robinette of Hatfield, Ky. and Heather Nicole (Jason) Kidd of Canada, Ky.; great nephew, Brian Thacker of Bethel, Ohio and great great nieces, Alyssa Faith, Isabella Grace and Rebecca Hope Robinette and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 11 AM at the Mt. Pleasant Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery, Sidney, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Brothers of the Old Regular Baptist Church. Visitation will be held after 6 PM Tuesday and Wednesday at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with special services both nights at 7 PM.
