Willie Blackburn, 81, of Turkey Creek, KY, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the Williamson Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 4, 1930 in Martin County, Ky. the son of the late Tom and Judie Howard Blackburn. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Lee, granddaughter, Kimberly Lee and brothers, Arnold and Tom Blackburn Jr.
He was a retired coal miner having worked for 42 years and a member of the Turkey Creek Old Regular Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Kazzee Blackburn; two daughters, Diana Gail Deskins of Auxier, Ky. and Louella (Larry) Booth of Huntington, WV; son, Dennis (Ella) Blackburn of Turkey Creek, Ky; sister, Ora Robinson of Turkey Creek, Ky; brother, Lawyer Blackburn of Florida; son-in-law, Larry Lee of Turkey Creek, Ky.; nine grandchildren, Beverly (Doug) Hatfield, Kerri (Chuck) Hensley, John (Jesyka) Wagoner, Angela (Chris) Conley, A.J. (Brayley) Booth, Kayla Booth, Mary, Leigh Ann and Amber Blackburn and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 11 AM at the Turkey Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Sunday at the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel and after 4 PM Monday at the Turkey Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with special services both nights at 7 PM.

Esther Hudson Thacker, 81 of Wellington, Ky. passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011 at her residence.
She was born October 21, 1929 in Charleston, SC the daughter of the late William and Esther Hecker. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Craig Muce.
Esther was a homemaker and a member of the Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Roland T. Thacker; daughters, Judy Carol Taylor of Morehead, Ky. and JoAnn Meece of Morrow, Ohio; brother, William Hecker of Reno, Nevada; sister, Alice O'Neill of Davenport, FL; grandchildren, Donald Roland Meece and Travis Meece; great grandchildren, Ally Meece, Andrew Meece and Jonathan Meece and one great great grandchild, DeAnna Clemons.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 1 PM at the Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Randall Thornsbury, David May and David Allen Thacker officiating. Burial will follow in the Thacker Cemetery, Canada, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Monday, August 15, 2011 in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel.

Estaline Smith Williamson, 87, of Stone, KY, passed away Monday August 15, 2011 at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born November 12, 1923 at Stone, KY to the late Willie A. Smith and Mary Smith Calhoun. She is also preceded in death by her husband; Oliver Glen Williamson, brothers; Willie Smith, Clarence Smith and Woody Smith.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Belfry Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son; Glen Dale Williamson and his wife Susan Williamson of Aston, PA. grandchildren; Anthony Dale Williamson and Dawn Williamson Brooks and great grandchildren; Dale James Brooks, Kristen Brooks and Nicole Williamson, sister; Kathleen Brown of Morehead, KY., brother; Ray Smith of Omaha, NE and a host of loving friends.
Memorial service will be conducted at 12 Noon Thursday August 18, 2011 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Buddy Kendrick officiating.
Visitation will begin at 10 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Virginia Lee Marcum, 78, of Belfry, KY, passed away Tuesday August 16, 2011 at her residence.
She was born July 2, 1933 at Williamson, WV to the late Michael and Clara Kostas Vary.
She is also preceded in death by her husband; Tan Marcum, brother; Joe Vary, sisters; Rosa Wolford, Marie McCown, Pauline Staton and Helen Vary.
She was a Christian and a retired cook for McDonalds and Kings Restaurant.
She is survived by four daughters; Clara (Ronnie) Church of Huddy, KY, Charlene (William) Keen of Inez, KY., Carlene (Leon) Sartin of Peebles, Oh., and Darlene (Danny) Coleman of Belfry, KY., two sons; Tanuel (Sandy) Marcum of Smyrna, TN., and Michael (Betty) Marcum of Murfreesboro, Tn., step daughter; Della Jean Knighten of Prestonsburg, KY., two step sons; Randall (Arlene) Marcum of Williamson, WV. and Gary Marcum of New Port News, VA., one sister; Violet Schrewsbury of Hobe Sound, FL., fourteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeal services will be conducted at 1 PM Saturday August 20, 2011 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Buddy Kendrick, Freddie Lewis and Joe Crum officiating. Burial will follow at Marcum Cemetery, Hatfield, KY with Ricky Smith, Shannon Sartin, Brian Spradlin, Tanuel Lee Marcum, Chrissy Dodson, John Dodson, Melissa Maynard, and Michael Maynard serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Hannah Coleman, Mikayla, Marcum, Bethany Marcum, Alana Marcum, Caleb Lewis, Kandace Lewis, Eric Coleman and Derek Dodson.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Thursday and Friday at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with special services both nights at 7 PM.

Jack May, 76, of McAndrews, KY, passed away Thursday August 18, 2011 at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born June 4, 1935 at McAndrews, KY, to the late Raab and Virginia May. He is also preceded in death by brothers; Harold May, Dover May, Woodrow May, Joe May and Jimmy Williams, sisters; Marie May and Delores Christian.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was an auto repairman doing body work.
He is survived by sons; Jack M. May of McAndrews, KY, and James V. May of Ashland, KY, daughters; Sondra S. Bowman of McAndrews, KY, Teresa A. Ramey of Mouthcard, KY, and Kimberly J. May of Pinsonfork, Ky. sister; Joey Ann Trout Johnson of Ypsilanti, Mi., fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and a host of friends and family.
Memorial services will be at 2 P.M. Sunday August 21, 2011 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Bob Werntz officiating. Visitation will be after 1 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

Arlin Stanley Jr., 73, of Hardy, KY, passed away Friday August 19, 2011 at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born December 15, 1937 in Pike County, KY, to the late Arlin Stanley Sr. and Vina Viars Stanley. He is also preceded in death by one brother; Tommy Stanley.
He was a retired coal miner.
He is survived by two sons; James Edward (Effie) Stanley of Hardy, KY, and Ricky (Easter) Stanley of Hardy, KY, five daughters; Betty Sue Diener of Dayton, Ohio, Darlene (Paul) Young of Belfry, KY, Nina Jean Cook of Fort Worth, Tx., Donna (Terry) Hurst of Morehead, KY, and Melissa Gooslin of McCarr, KY, brother; Jimmy Stanley of Hardy, KY, three sisters; Betty Jean Cash of Alabama, Pat (Frank) Adkins of Texas and Brenda (Cliff) Everett of Texarkana Tx.; half sister, Kathy; twenty-four grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Monday August 22, 2011 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Stanley-Stollings Cemetery, Hardy, KY, with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Saturday and Sunday night at the funeral home.

Michael E. Moore, 58, of Taylorville, WV, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011.
He was born August 23, 1952 in Pike County, Ky. the son of the late Ulyless Howard and Opal Cleo Spencer Moore. He was also preceded in death by his ex-wife, Deloris Moore, daughter, Rebecca Moore and brothers, Roger, Danny and Paul Moore.
He was a disabled coal miner and member of Local Union 1440.
Survivors include one daughter, Tonya Moore of Taylorville, WV; two sons, Ricky Lee Moore and Buster Chester (Fred) Mays of Merrimac, WV whom he raised; one sister, Opal Louise Slone of Coon Creek, Ky. and one grandson, Zachary Moore and a host of family and friends.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 12 Noon at the New
Vision Assembly of God Church at Hatfield Bottom with Ron Pruitt officiating.
