Jackson
SCOTTS COUNTY, Mo. ­- Irene Jackson, 80, formerly of Tolu, passed away June 11, 2003.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Mercier; a son, Wayne Jackson; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Her parents were Bessie and Lewis Barnes.
Services were held in Forest Lawn Mortuary in Covina Hills, Calif.

Riley
DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. -­ Clarla A. Riley, 84, formerly of Crittenden County, passed away June 17, 2003 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
She is survived by a son, Sherman Woodall of Michigan; a daughter, Margaret Dixon of Allen Park, Mich.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were June 20 at White's Chapel Church with Bro. David Winders officiating. Burial was in White's Chapel Cemetery. Boyd Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Smiley
PADUCAH, Ky. ­- George H. Smiley, 82, passed away June 19, 2003 at Western Baptist Hospital.
He was a member of Reidland United Methodist Church, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was retired from TVA after 43 years of service as a power operator.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Norman Smiley of Paducah; a daughter, Pamela S. Earon of Metropolis, Ill.; a son, George H. Smiley III of Connecticut; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister. His parents were George H. Smiley and Ethel Murphy Smiley.
Funeral services were held June 23 at Boyd Funeral Chapel with Bro. Charles Pitman and Bro. Richard Carruth officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.

Hunt
Dorothy Hunt, 69, of Marion, passed away June 20, 2003 at her home. She was a member of Marion First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband, Marvin Hunt of Marion; a daughter, Shannon Stout of Marion; a sister, Genevieve Simpkins of Nashville; two half sisters, Louise Cline of Marion and Helen Harper of Fredonia; and a half brother, Leslie Davis of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Robert Thomas and her parents, Ernest and Janette Brown.
Funeral services were June 23 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Latham officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.

Jones
FREDONIA, Ky. -­ Esta Marie Jones, 83, passed away June 15, 2003 at Caldwell County Hospital. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Marion.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, James T. Jones of Fredonia; two sons, John Pollock of Akron, Ohio and Jimmy D. Jones of Newburg, Ind.; three daughters, Barbara Meredith of Eddyville, Sandra Joiner of Alexander City, Ala., and Mary Faulkner of Kenton, Del.; a sister, Mildred Summers of Clarksburg, W.Va.; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers and one sister. Her parents were Clyde "Lydie" and Ann Agner Summers.
Funeral services were held June 18 at Dunn's Funeral Home in Eddyville with Dean Sharp officiating. Burial was in Dycusburg Cemetery.

Davidson
Russell E. Davidson, 93, of Marion, passed away June 11, 2003 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a 65-year member of Union Baptist Church and a 50-year member of Salem Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Alsobrook Davidson of Marion; two sisters, Velda Drake of Salem and Ruby Wring of Bardstown; a brother, Kenneth Davidson of Memphis.
Funeral services were June 14 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. A.C. Hodge officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery.

Spaulding
BURNA, Ky. -­ Susan Spaulding, 39, passed away June 8, 2003 in Chicago, Ill.
She is survived by two sons, Joshua Spaulding and Jonathan Spaulding, both of Salem.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyrus "Buck" Spaulding.
A memorial service was held June 15 at Faith Pentecostal Tabernacle in Salem with Bro. Phillip Sanders officiating.

Moore
Richard "Dick" Moore, 85, of Marion, passed away June 10, 2003 at Life Care Nursing Home of LaCenter.
He was a member of Marion United Methodist Church and retired from Moore Business Forms after 30-plus years.
Funeral services were held June 12 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Marion United Methodist Church lot fund, 112 S. College St., Marion, KY 42064.

Howard
Shelby M. Howard, 76, of Marion, passed away June 10, 2003 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army's 11th Airborne. He retired from U.S. Steele after 33 years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are five daughters, Sonja Howard of Nashville, Cassandra Jacobs of Frankfort, Shelia (Brad) Foster of Rochester, NY, Elaine (Dennis) Adkins of Grayslake, Ill., and Alicia (Vince) Clark of Marion; 12 grandchildren, Dr. Stephanie Roney, Joyce Ponder, Robert Hendrickson, Carey Ketchum, Dennis Bryan Adkins, Christopher and Ashlee Jacobs, Perry, Andrew and Charlotte Foster and Dylan and Devin Clark; two brothers, Don Howard of Benham, Ky., and Harold Howard of Cumberland; five sisters, Emilou Ison of Corbin, Marilyn Boggs, Elsie Watts and Margaret Collins, all of Cumberland, and Evelyn Lawson of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Fayle Joyce Howard; and a brother, Willard Howard. His parents were Berry and Flora Howard.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., June 13 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Frank McCallum officiating. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., June 12 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.

McClure
Bonnie Ruth McClure, 75, of Marion, passed away June 10, 2003 at Salem Springlake Care Center. She attended Frances Presbyterian Church and was retired from Hicks Dollar Store.
Surviving are a daughter, Karen Lowery of Marion; a son, Douglas W. McClure of Indian Mound, Tenn.; two sisters, Lois Phillips and Janice Bebout, both of Marion; a brother, Paul "Tittle" Ryan of Kuttawa; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Northern McClure; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., June 12 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Lonnie Knight officiating. Burial will be in Frances Cemetery.

Moore
LaCENTER, Ky. -­ Dick Moore, 85, formerly of Marion, passed away June 10, 2003 at Life Care in LaCenter. He was retired from Moore Business Forms.
Burial was set for June 12, 2003 at Mapleview Cemetery. Donations of sympathy can be made to Marion United Methodist Church, 112 S. College St., Marion, Ky.

Brown
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -­ Evelyn Lowry Brown passed away June 1, 2003. A private ceremony was held and burial will be held in Shady Grove Cemetery.
She is survived by a son, John M.L. Brown; a daughter, Sue Ellen Brown; a brother, Clifton Lowry, M.D.; two sisters, Maxine Alexander and Linda Lowry; and two granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Maude Lowry; and her husband, Fred J. Brown.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shady Grove Cemetery Perpetual Fund, c/o Nancy Herran, 6481 S.R. 120, Marion, KY 42064.
