Brown
Vesta E. Wheeler Brown, 99, of Marion passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007 at Red Bank Nursing Home in Henderson.
She was a member of Unity General Baptist Church at Crayne.
Survivors include, her sons, James D. Wheeler of Marion, Leroy Wheeler of Whiting, Ind.; a daughter, Joyce Green of Henderson; a sister, Margaret Akers of Marion; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, P.W. Hughes and Maggie Sheridan; her husband, Henry Wheeler; a son, William Wheeler; two brothers; a sister; a granddaughter, Rhonda Sue Greene; and a grandson, Michael Browning.
Funeral services were Tuesday at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Herbert Alexander officiating. Burial was at Freedom Cemetery in Crittenden County.

Hunter
Bob Hunter, 79, of Marion passed away at 2:14 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007 at Crittenden Hospital.
He was a member of Mexico Baptist Church and Frances Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Vineta Hunter of Marion; a son, Jerry Hunter of Chandler, Ind.; two brothers, Herman Hunter of Hopkinsville and Ford Hunter Jr. of Hobart, Ind.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Hunter was preceded in death by his parents, Ford Sr. and Bessie Mott Hunter; a son, Kevin Hunter; a granddaughter, Savannah Hunter; and two sisters.
Funeral services were Friday at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Tim Burdon officiating. Burial was at Mexico Cemetery.

Lynch
Robert Gary "Bobby" Lynch, 54, of High Ridge, Mo., formerly of Marion, passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2007 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Louis.
Survivors include his wife, Monda Lynch of High Ridge; his mother, Irene Lynch of Marion; two sons, Robert Lynch and Jeff Belt, both of High Ridge; three daughters, Phyllis Reese of High Ridge, Beverly Wilson of Paducah and Carla McKinney of Morganfield; six brothers, Roger, Frankie and Tommy Lynch all of High Ridge, James “Buddy,” Johnny and Jackie Lynch all of Marion; a sister, Patricia Knight of Marion; two half brothers, John and Michael Lynch both of Dalton, Ga.; a half sister, Geraldine Clark of Shawneetown, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.
Lynch was preceded in death by his father, Junior Lynch; a sister, Joyce Clark; and grandparents Luke and Mae Hackney.
Funeral services were Tuesday at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Jones and Rev. Charlie Tabor officiating. Burial was at Deer Creek Cemetery in Crittenden County.

Manus
Earl Wayne Manus, 69, of Crittenden County passed away at 1:44 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007 at his residence.
He was a military veteran, member of the VFW and was a retired truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Dyer Manus; two sons, Tony (Shonta) Manus of Princeton and Marc (Crystal) Manus of Murray; a brother, Jesse Manus of Princeton; a sister, Hilda Hobby of Caldwell County; and seven grandchildren, Jase Manus, Nikki Manus, Brandon Manus, Dylan Manus, Breanna Manus, Chaz Manus and Zach Manus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Virginia Stephenson Manus.
Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 16 at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Jeff French and Rev. J.R. Bruce officiating.
Burial was at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Scarbrough
Funeral services for Thelma Lorene Scarbrough, 95, were Nov. 17 at Dyer Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Jones officiating. Burial was at Dyer Hill Cemetery.
Scarbrough passed away at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007 at her home. She is survived by her children, Betty Jones of Burna, Patricia Hopkins of Ledbetter, Jerry Scarbrough of Benton, and Lynn Scarbrough of Burna; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Scarbrough was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Scarbrough; a son, David Scarbrough; a daughter, Eula Bell Tramble; her parents, Fred and Lavina Montgomery Kirk; one granddaughter, Debra Jones; one grandson, Jeff Tramble; three infant sons; two brothers; and three sisters.

Marsh
Gwen Preston Marsh, 75, of Ashland, Ky. passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2007 at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center in Ashland.
Marsh was born Oct. 20, 1932, in Boyd County, Ky, the daughter of the late Golden "Pat" and Iva Greene Preston.
She was married 19 years to Charles Dexter Marsh, who preceded in her death in 1989. She was a homemaker and personal caregiver. Marsh was a member of Abundant Life Fellowship Church, where she played piano and taught Sunday school. She was very active in local organizations such as the Boyd County Senior Center, Ashland Kiwanis, Meals on Wheels, Boyd County Heart Association and Boyd County Homemakers.
She is survived by five children, Alice (Dan) Arterburn of Old Hickory, Tenn.; Valerie Suzanne (Hutch) Goad of Marion; Charles Basil (Carla) Marsh of Birdseye, Ind.; Donald G. (Kathy) Marsh of Poquoson, Va.; and Linda Gail (David) Villarreal of Monterey, Calif.; a sister, Gail Preston Brown of Grayson, Ky.; a brother, William "Ed" (Elsie) Preston of Frankfort, Ky.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services to will be held at 2 p.m., Friday Nov. 23, at the Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg, Ky. Marsh’s brother-in-law, Pastor Don Marsh, and her son, Pastor Donald G. Marsh, will officiate. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends is from noon until 2 p.m., Friday prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Meals On Wheels, 1701 Central Avenue, Fifth Floor, Attn: Kim, Ashland, KY 41101.

Garrett
Funeral services for Isabell Garrett, 89, of Hampton were Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007 at Boyd Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Holliman officiating. Burial was in White Church Cemetery.
Survivors include four sons, James E. Jackson and Vernon Tolley, both of Hampton, Odis C. Tolley of Burna and Carlos E. Garrett; one daughter, Lucy Faulkner of Salem; one brother, Floyd Jackson of Salem; two sisters, Eulene Belt of Marion and Lucille Wayland of Golconda, Ill.; a half-brother, James M. Jackson of Marion; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Garrett; two brothers; and one sister. Her parents were Monroe and Sarah Steward Jackson.

Tabor
Funeral services for Robert Shawn Tabor, 27, of Marion were Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with Bro. Dean Atchison officiating. Burial was at Salem Cemetery.
Tabor passed away at 9:45 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007 at Crittenden Hospital.
Survivors include his parents, Kenneth and Shelia Tabor of Marion; a sister, Breeanna Tabor of Evansville; paternal grandparents, Ann Tabor of Salem and Paul Tabor of Marion; maternal grandmother, Waunita McDowell of Joy; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lynn McDowell.

Hawkins
Ruth Hayden Hawkins, 94, of Madisonville passed away at 11:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007 at Shemwell Nursing Home in Providence.
She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville.
Survivors include one son, Charles S. Hawkins of Madisonville; four grandchildren, Ruth Ann (Donnie) Farmer of Marion, Susan (Mitch) Gooch and Tom and Charles G. Hawkins; and six great-grandchildren.
Hawkins was preceded in death by her husband, Smith Hawkins; her parents, Fenis and Eliza Jane Nance Epley; her brother, James B. Epley; and a granddaughter, Sherry L. Hawkins.
The funeral was Tuesday, Nov. 13 at Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Rev. Kermit Berry officiating. Burial was at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Gordon
Brandy Cowan Gordon, 33, of Pekin, Ill., passed away at her home Tuesday Nov. 6, 2007.
She was the daughter of Harry “Squeeky” and Joann Cowan of Sturgis.
Gordon is survived by her husband, Steve Gordon of Pekin and her children, Cody, Stevie, Courtney and Mikayla; her grandmother, Judy Cowan of Marion; sisters, Angela Vance of Tennessee, Jennifer Byerley of Indiana; and a brother, Jason Cowan of Sturgis.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17 at First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
