McIntyre
Julia Lee Thompson McIntyre, 67, of Hampton passed away at 7 a.m., Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 at her residence.
She was employed by the federal government for 21 years in many agencies in the personnel department. An avid historian and genealogist, McIntyre was a life member of the Livingston County Genealogical Society and a still life painter.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, William McIntyre of Hampton; a brother Ted (Jean) Thompson of Hampton; a sister, Janice (Billy) Christiansen of Hampton; four nieces, Margaret Vanover, Jennifer L. Thompson, Cynthia Deavers and Laurie Large; three nephews, Richard Wheeler, John Schaefer and Bruce Schaefer; one great-niece, Jordan Thompson of Hampton; two uncles, Bobby Champion and Harry Jones; three aunts, Clara Champion, Christine Champion and Patsy Jones; and several cousins.
Her parents were James T. and Evelyn M. Champion Thompson.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with Rev. Dean Atchison officiating. Condolences may be left online at boydfuneraldirectors.com.

Pope
World War II veteran Lawrence C. “L.C.” Pope Jr., 81, of Salem passed away at 3:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007 at Livingston Hospital.
Pope was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served during the Second World War and during the Korean War. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Shriners and the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Edna McDaniel Pope of Salem; a daughter, Shelia (Kevin) Kelley of Metropolis, Ill.; one step-daughter, Wanda (H.L.) Grimes of Salem; one step-son, Bob (Sharon) McDaniel of Salem; a sister, Jesse Taylor of Salem; a brother Charles (Jacquie) Pope of Paducah; a sister-in-law, Helen Witt of Mattoon, Ill.; three grandchildren, Carly Clark, Hailey (Jonathan) Burnham and Aaronn (Courtney) Clark; five step-grandchildren, David Grimes, Cami (Chris) Williams, Michelle McDaniel, Christina Stewart and Brian (Jada) McDaniel; one great-grandson; nine step-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and family and friends.
Pope was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Gail Pope; his parents, Lawrence C. and Emma Pope; and a stepson, Gary M. Haley.
Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 29 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with Bro. John East and Bro. Mark Combs officiating. Burial was at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Rosebud, Ill.

Crider
Margaret Board Crider, 90, of Fredonia passed away at 7:10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 29, 2007 at her home.
She was member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Crider is survived by one son, Carroll Crider of Fredonia; two daughters, Phyllis Ballew of Fairfield, Calif., and Karen Parrent of Fredonia; seven grandchildren, Melissa Crider-Hopper, Bill Crider, David Ballew, Jennifer Ballew, Katie Parrent, Matt Parrent and Mark Parrent; five great-grandchildren, Madison Crider, Paulena Davenport, Alana Sofia Ballew, Alivia Parrent and Briana Parrent; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard G. Crider; her parents, J.W. Board and Rose Kennaday Board; and several half brothers and half sisters.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31 at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Lester Watson and Rev. Tom Keim officiating. Burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Caldwell County.

Clark
Carlton Clark, 93, of Marion passed away at 8:40 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17 at Salem Springlake Health and Rehab.
He was a member of the Marion Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a retired locksmith from Union Carbide in Paducah.
Survivors include three daughters, Jeanne (Fred) Lynn of Marion, Sharon (Lou) Miles of Hendersonville, Tenn., Jayne (Bob) Hill of Madison, Tenn.; a sister, Ada Ilene Hoover of Livonia, Mich.; six grandchildren, Laura Lynn of Madison, Miss., Steve (Tammy) Lynn of Marion, Alisa (Bret) McCulley of Goodlettsville, Tenn., Geoffry Miles of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Carly Hill and Zach Hill, both of Madison, Tenn.; three great-grandchildren, Jenna Lynn of Marion, Tyler (Ashley) Guess of Marion, and Blake Miles of Hendersonville; and one great-great-granddaughter, Taylor Guess of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Clark; his parents, Robert Reed and Mae Clark; and a brother, Robert Clark.
Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 20 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. DeeAnn Thompson officiating. Burial was at Mexico Cemetery.

Courtney
Mary Lue Courtney, 69, of Sturgis passed away at 1:56 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church of Morganfield and enjoyed reading and sewing.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Courtney of Sturgis; two daughters, Bridgett Winders of Sturgis and Karen Bradford of Morganfield; two sons, Louie Courtney and Daren Courtney, both of Marion; two brothers, Willie West of Marion and Doug West of Hatfield, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were at 4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 18 at Pythian Ridge Cemetery at Sturgis with Rev. Dwight Jackson officiating. Whitsell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Hearell
Jewel Dean Hearell, 80, of Marion passed away at 3:44 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007 at Crittenden Hospital.
She was a member of Pleasant Grove General Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Claud Hearell; two sons, Roger (Debbie) Hearell and Eddie Hearell, both of Marion; two sisters, Louise Hearell and Norveline Walker, both of Salem; and one grandson, David Hearell.
Her parents were Chester and Lima Watson Wayland.
Services were at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with Rev. Herbert Alexander officiating. Burial was at Whites Chapel Cemetery.

Taylor
Neil Taylor, 73, of Marion passed away at 9:25 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007 at his residence.
He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Marion.
Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, Orben Ephrum and Charlotte Patmor Taylor, and a daughter, Faye Taylor.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Alberta Taylor of Marion; sons, Bruce (Vicki) Taylor of Smithland, Michael (Theresa) Taylor and Donnie (Robyn) Taylor, both of Marion and David Taylor of Salem; daughters, Brenda (Terry) Adams of Marion and Jayne (Chris) Anderson of Greensburg, Penn.; one brother, William Duke (Charlotte) Taylor of Dixon, Ill.; and grandchildren, Staci Wallace, Travis Taylor, Bradley Adams, Jeremy Smith, Chad Taylor, Lynsey Taylor, Taylor Anderson, Christopher Anderson, Poco Taylor; four great-grandchildren, Lane Wallace, Shelby Wallace, Emily Adams, Wesley Taylor; and two step-grandchildren: Adam Reynolds and Jake Flannery.
Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 20 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with Rev. Rob Ison and Rev. Russ Davidson officiating. Burial was at Mapleview Cemetery.

Tinsley
Elizabeth Ann Tinsley, 61, of Marion passed away at 4:25 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007 at Crittenden Hospital.
She was a member of Stevenson Methodist Church in Franklin, Ky.
Survivors include her husband, Charles D. Tinsley; a son, Stephen B. Tinsley; daughter, Debora LeAnn Tinsley; and a granddaughter, Kayla Dawn Tinsley, all of Marion; a sister Sharon Hicks of Gainsville, Ga.; and a brother, Rickey Cassitty of Elberfeld, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents, B.P. Cassitty Jr., and Lillie Mae Parker.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 23 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial was Wednesday, Oct. 24 at Stevenson Methodist Cemetery in Franklin.

Mitchell
Juanita H. Mitchell, 86, of Clay passed away Saturday, Oct. 20 , 2007 at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Sebree.
She was born in Clay to the late Roy and Mina Holland. She was valedictorian of her senior class at Clay High School and attended Western Kentucky University. Mitchell was a member of the Webb Memorial United Methodist Church in Clay for more than 75 years and she was a school teacher at Wheatcroft, Clay and Webster County for more than 20 years. She had also worked at Farmers Bank in Clay.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, George Earl of Clay, one daughter, Angie Newton of Bowling Green; a son, Judge William E. Mitchell of Clay; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 23 at Webb Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Vernon Perdue and Rev. Laddie Pride officiating. Burial was at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Clay.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Webb Memorial United Methodist Church Building Fund.
