Walker
Jeraldine C. Walker, 67, of Marion passed away at 10:35 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at
Livingston Hospital & Healthcare Services in Salem. She was born July 24, 1940 in Crittenden County.
Survivors include three sons, Ricky (Jo) Curnel and Rocky (Brandy) Walker, both of Marion, and Randy (Margie) Walker of Nashville; three sisters, Carrie McClure and Sue Williams, both of Marion, and Girline Warsaw of Detroit; half sister, Pauline Lee of Eddyville; two brothers Larry Deboe and Paul Deboe Jr., both of Marion; three half brothers, Robert Deboe and Donnie Deboe, both of Marion, and Kenneth Deboe of Indiana; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne “Red” Walker; her parents, Paul and Sadie Wheeler Deboe; and a half brother, John Ed Deboe.
Funeral services were Friday, Aug. 3 at Myers Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Kenny Odom officiating. Burial was a Mapleview Cemetery.

Campbell
Archie Benton Campbell, 72, of Marion passed away at 4:30 p.m., Aug. 5, 2007 at his home.
Surviving are his wife Mabel Campbell; two daughters, Paula Neal of Albuquerque, N.M., and Barbara Campbell of Mayfield; a grandson, Alex Porter of Marion; a brother, Carlos Ray Campbell of Marion; and two sisters, Pauline Herrin and Eva Mae Vick, both of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carlos and Mary Rose Wade Campbell.
Funeral services were Thursday, Aug. 9 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Porter officiating. Burial was at Mapleview Cemetery.

McKinley
Billy McKinley Jr., 48, of Marion passed away at 8:35 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007 at Crittenden Hospital.
Survivors include a son, Chris McKinley; his parents, Bill and June McKinley; a sister, Donna Rushing; and a brother, Chuck McKinley, all of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Maymie Lathem and Emmie and Geneva McKinley.
Services were Saturday, Aug. 4 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Davis officiating. Burial was at Rosebud Cemetery in Crittenden County.

Paustell
John Paustell, 74, of Marion passed away at 2:51 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007 at Caldwell County Hospital.
He was a member of the Marion United Methodist Church.
Paustell is survived by his wife, Nadine Paustell of Marion; a stepson, James Dunham of Marion; a stepdaughter, Jerri Dunham of Bakersfield, Calif.; three daughters, Delana Barry of Dalton, Ga., Cathy Petit of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jennine Nodine of West Minster, S.C.; a brother, Bill Paustell of Bakersfield; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Aug. 7 at Marion United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Garvey officiating.
Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion was in charge of arrangements.

Garrett
Esther Murray Garrett, 77, passed away at 5:35 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center in Marion.
She attended Sullivan Baptist Church and was an avid bowler who competed in women’s leagues.
Surviving are daughters, Jane (Glen) Binkley, Terri (Larry) Belt, both of Sullivan, Sharon Mast (Scott) Barone of Henderson, and Diane (John) Nivens of Bokeelia, Fla.; sons, Roger McElroy and David Mast of Bowling Green; sister, Virginia Greene of Michigan; brothers, Vestal (Marge) Murray of Marion, Richard (Brenda) Murray of Chandler, Ind., and Kenneth (Darlene) Murray of Marion; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis with Rev. Gary Murray and Rev. Noble Cobb officiating. Burial was at Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis.
Memorials contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4770 Covert Ave., Suite 211, Evansville, IN 47714-5663.

Milam
Carolyn Milam, 69, of Pensacola, Fla., passed away at 4:20 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 2 in Pensacola.
Survivors include two daughters, Lynda Dennis of Marion and Rhonda Cramer of Florida; three sisters, Regina Young, Nancy McKinney and Marilyn Shewmaker, all of Marion; two brothers, Arthur Shewmaker of Lake Station, Ind., and Eddie Shewmaker of Marion; four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Milam; her parents, Arthur and Mary Shewmaker; three brothers and one sister.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, Aug. 8 at Mapleview Cemetery in Marion with Rev. Cortis Hill officiating. Gilbert Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Barkau
Charline Barkau, 91, of Marion passed away at 4:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 3, 2007 at Crittenden Health & Rehab Center in Marion.
She was a member of the Marion United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Doris Rushing of Marion; a son, Bill Barkau of San Diego, Calif.; two grandchildren, Gina Rushing Byrd of Tybee Island, Ga., and William Rushing of Humble, Tex.; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence William Barkau; her parents, Joseph and Nettie Sullenger Curnel; and one grandchild.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Aug. 8 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Garvey officiating. Burial was at Mapleview Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Marion United Methodist Church Building Fund, 112 S. College St., Marion, KY 42064.

Thompson
James Jackson Smither “Jack” Thompson passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2007 in Frankfort, Ky.
He was born July 10, 1927 in Frankfort. He was a lifelong resident of the Peaks Mill Community of Northern Franklin County. He was a Navy SeaBee Veteran serving as a 17 year old in Okinawa at the end of World War II. He returned to his family farm in Peaks Mill where he raised tobacco, did custom hay baling and trucking. However, he especially took pride in his cattle operation and turning boys into men in the school of hard work. He was an avid fan of horse racing, UK basketball and football. He was a member of Peaks Mill Christian Church, charter member of the Peaks Mill Ruritan Club, a pioneer farmer and a Kentucky Colonel.
Thompson was preceded in death by his parents J.J. and Omah Smither Thompson; grandson Lloyd Edmond Thompson; sisters Louise Rambo, Nell Hancock, Rachel Wiggington, Sara Campbell, Lucy Bell Thompson, Emma James Thompson, Jean Thompson; and brothers Bob Thompson and Carter Thompson.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Isabelle McMican Thompson; his children, Eddie (Marcella) Thompson, Jackie Sue (Henry) Phillips, Tommy (Marsha) Thompson and Randy (Judy) Thompson all of Frankfort; 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a sister, Lula B. Robinson of Muncie, Ind.; sister-in-laws, Mary (Ray) Kearl and Jackie Nell McMican both of Toppenish, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were John Bondurant and his grandsons, Ryan Thompson, Ben Thompson, Jack Phillips, Will Phillips, David Thompson, Ross Thompson and Drew Thompson. Honorary pallbearers were his granddaughters, Melissa Milligan, Kate Greenwell, Lauren Thompson and Jennifer Quarles.
Bro. Ronnie McKinney and Bro. Harold Hamm will officiate the funeral Thursday, Aug. 9 at Peaks Mill Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Peaks Mill Cemetery.

Byford
Eddie G. Byford Sr., 67, of Evansville, formerly of Marion, passed away at 12:02 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
A retired Whirlpool worker, Byford’s visitation will be from 11 a.m., until 1 p.m., Friday at Gilbert Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 1 p.m., with Rev. Rob Ison officiating. Burial will be at Mapleview Cemetery.
Survivors include wife, Shirley Byford of Evansville; three daughters, Denise Payne of Owensboro, Belinda Lawrence of Evansville and Gina Wagoner of Evansville; a step-daughter, Jan Wilson of Melbourne, Fla.; three sons, Eddie Byford Jr. and Tim Byford of Madisonville and Bessie Hunt of Marion; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Byford was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Bessie Van-Bibber Byford; five brothers and one sister.

Shoulders
Darrell Shoulders, 63, of Marion passed away at 6:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at his home.
Born March 22, 1944 in Clay, Shoulders was a retired coal miner and attended Liberty Peace Chapel Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Shoulders of Marion; two sons Bradley Shoulders of Hanson and Jeremy Shoulders of Marion; his mother, Mary Shoulders of Clay; two brothers, Billy Shoulders of Texarkana, Texas and Roger Shoulders of Clay; a sister, Sue Gaggero of Fallbrook, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Shoulders was preceded in death by his father, Crawford Shoulders.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 28 at Myers Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Oakley officiating. Burial was at Mapleview Cemetery in Marion.
