Kentucky Marriage Records by County

Head
Eva Lou Head, 67, of Elkhart, Ind., passed away Oct. 20, 2000 at Cross Roads Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Ill.

Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Clark of Burna and Cheryl Head of Elkhart; a sister, Robbie Long of West Paducah; a brother, Joe Paul Wiggins of Salem; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Head; her parents, Robert and Edith Hardin Wiggins; a daughter and a brother.

Funeral services were held Oct. 24 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Rice officiating. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Morris
Ida Belle Morris, 88, of Eddyville, passed away Oct. 21, 2000 at Rivers Bend Retirement Center in Kuttawa.

Morris was born in Crittenden County, and was a member of Eddyville First Baptist Church and a member of the Lyon County Senior Citizens.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Morris, and a sister, Thana May Anderson.

Funeral services were held Oct. 23 at Lakeland Funeral Hoe in Eddyville. Rev. Gates Bowman and Rev. Ted Yates officiated. Burial was in Kuttawa Cemetery.

Hosick
Evalyne Hosick, 79, of Salem, passed away Oct. 9, 2000 at Crittenden Hospital. Funeral services were held Oct. 11 at Boyd Funeral Chapel with Rev. Michael Synder officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Marsha Hosick of Salem; a sister, Mattie Miller of Salem; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne McDowell and Norval McDowell, and her parents, Finis and Hattie Moran Hardin.

Walls
Becky Myers Walls, 42, of Princeton, passed away Oct. 9, 2000.

She is survived by her mother, Louise McDaniel Skees of Marion; three sons, Johnny Meeks of Sturgis, Brian Meeks of Princeton and Jason Meeks of Sturgis; two daughters, Felisha Meeks of Princeton and Heather Walls of Princeton; three brothers, Timothy Myer of Henderson, Tommy Myers of Dycusburg and Michael Skees of Mexico; three sisters, Carolyn Strilko of Chicago, Rachel Wilson of Princeton and Lydia Myers of Princeton; several nieces and nephews and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Oct. 19 at Morgan's Funeral Home with burial in Fredonia Cemetery.

Spurrier
Graveside services for Daniel Newman Spurrier, 80, of Marion, were held Oct. 10, 2000 at Rosebud Cemetery. Bro. David Frisby officiated.

Spurrier, a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, passed away Oct. 9 at Crittenden Hospital.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Aladine Spurrier of Marion; a son, Donald Spurrier of Marion; a daughter, Dana Mullins of St. Geneveve, Mo.; two brothers, Harry Spurrier of Owensboro and Johnnie Spurrier of Louisville; three sisters, Elizabeth Rhoden of Owensboro, Louise Phillips of Louisville and Naomi Thurmond of Danville, Ind.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Gipson
Paul Everett Gipson, 72, of Marion, passed away Oct. 4, 2000 at Lourdes Hospital.

Survivors include three daughters, Heidi Peternell of Morris, Ill., Gretta Scott of Waddell, Ariz., and Heather Bowden of Houston; two brothers, George Gipson and Robert Gipson, both of Marion; two sisters, Geneva Shewmaker of Marion and Gussie Fogle of Evansville; and nine grandchildren.

His parents were Guthrie and Nannie Turley Gipson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Oct. 7 at Mapleview Cemetery. Rev. John East will officiate.

Garnett
Jetta C. Garnett, 63, of Lafayette, Ind., formerly of Marion, passed away Oct. 1, 2000 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in West Lafayette, Ind.

Survivors include her husband, Bill J. Garnett of West Lafayette; a son, Robert Garnett of Columbia, Md.; a daughter, Lisa Livesay of West Lafayette; her mother, Mary Edna Fritts Easley of Marion; a sister, Betty Henley of Hobart; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Oct. 5 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Rodney Groff and Rev. Jack Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 130 E. Mound Park, Marion, KY 42064.

Moreland
Rev. James Moreland, Sr., a former pastor at several Crittenden County churches, passed away Sept. 18, 2000.

Funeral services were held at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Don Phelps and Rev. Joe Carrico officiating. Entombment was in Highland Park Cemetery in Mayfield.

Surviving are his wife, Daisy Lee Holland Moreland; a son, James Moreland, Jr.; a daughter, Ann Phelps; a sister, Bonnie Davidson; a stepbrother, Junior Russell; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

His parents were Tom and Onie Moreland.

Highfil
Funeral services for Robert Guy Highfil, 84, of Marion, were held Oct. 3, 2000 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Archie Brock and Rev. Rodney Groff officiated. Burial was in Mexico Cemetery.

Highfil passed away Sept. 30 at Livingston Hospital. He was a member of Mexico Baptist Church, Frances Masonic Lodge #580 and was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a son, Robert E. Highfil of Gleason, Tenn.; two daughters, Donna Brantley of St. Louis and Marylin Appleton of Arnold, Mo.; two brothers, Jimmy Highfil and Truman Highfil, both of Mexico; a sister, Mary Sue Crider of Mexico; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Baird Highfil.

Ray
Jane Ray, 72, of Symsonia, passed away Sept. 29, 2000 at Lourdes Hospital at Paducah.

Surviving are her husband, Robert B. Ray of Symsonia; a daughter, Lona Jane Adams of Fairfield, Calif.; two sons, Cordie Lee Ray of Austin, Texas and Robert Bryan Ray of Atlantic, Iowa; five sisters, Jonnie Lou Conger of Marion, June Duvall of Madisonville, Betty Jo Jones of Garrettsville, Ohio, Dorcas Kline of Rootstown, Ohio and Dottie Sue Manley of Marion; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dollie Doom and Lesie Northern McClure; and two brothers, Northern McClure and Rudolph McClure.

Funeral services were held Oct. 2 at Collier Funeral Home in Benton with burial in Sardis Cemetery in Land Between The Lakes.

Bennett
David Bennett, 75, of Eddyville, passed away Oct. 1, 2000 at the V.A. Hospital in Marion, Ill.

Bennett was a retired machinist from Gates Rubber Company in Rockford, Ill., and a self-employed machinist following retirement.

Surviving are his wife, Martha Baith of Eddyville; two sons, David Bennett, Jr., of Fayetteville, N.C., and John Bennett of Bonnie, Ill.; a daughter, Lona Barton of Pensacola; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two half-brothers, Charles Bennett of Fayetteville, N.C., and Jesse Bennett of Henderson; and a half-sister, Verna Eastwood of Sturgis.
