Paul E. Mick, her first husband, had been publisher of the newspaper from 1969 until his death in 1990. His father, Evers, was the newspaper publisher before him.

She was a past member of the Marion City Council, Western Kentucky Industrial Foundation, Marion Woman's Club and volunteered for various other community projects.

She was co-owner of the The Style Shop women's clothing store formerly in Marion and most recently operated a catering service, Taste of the Town.

A member of Marion United Methodist Church, Mick is survived by a husband, Marlin Travis; two daughters, Allison Evans of Marion and Andrea Mick of Bowling Green; a son, Lucas Mick at home; a grand-daughter, Meredith Evans of Marion; two stepdaughters, Shannon Handura and Sonya McKinley of Clarksville, Tenn.; a step-granddaughter, Rachel Handura of Clarksville, Tenn.; a step-grandson Jake McKinley of Clarksville, Tenn.; a son-in-law Chris Evans of Marion; two step sons-in-law James Handura and Jeff McKinley both of Clarksville, Tenn.; a niece, Leslie Morrow of Madisonville; a nephew, Brian Mick of Reno, Nev.; three great-nephews; and one great-niece.
