Kentucky Marriage Records by County

Thomas
Dorothy L. Thomas, 73, of Marion, passed away Feb. 26, 2000 at Crittenden Hospital.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra Barnes of Marion; a sister, Magdalene Clark of Troy, Mich.; a brother, Shelby Bridwell of Marion; a granddaughter, Cindy Barnes of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Tracy Ray Thomas; her parents, Willie and Mary J. Bridwell; and two brothers.

Funeral services were held Feb. 29 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Porter and Rev. Paul Mayes officiating. Burial was in Hurricane Cemetery.

Gobin
Dudley Gobin, 61, of Providence, passed away March 5, 2000 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

He was a retired building contractor, a member of the board of directors at Independence Bank and a member of the board of directors of the Fish and Game Club. He attended Providence General Baptist Church.

Gobin is survived by his wife, Della Gobin of Providence; a son, Troy Gobin of Marion; his mother, Gladys Gobin of Providence; and two grandchildren, Derrick Gobin and Andrew Gobin.

Services were held March 7 at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home in Providence with Barry Cullen officiating. Burial was in White Oak Cemetery near Providence.

Sisco
James Robert Sisco, 63, of Paducah, passed away March 3, 2000 at Tri County Hospital in LaGrange.

Survivors include his wife, Nelda Sisco of Paducah; two sons, Jimmy Sisco of Paducah and Terry Guess of Salem; two daughters, Susie Paris of Burna and Janet Sisco of Paducah; three brothers, Morris Sisco of Marion, Alvie Sisco of Burna and Charles Sisco of Fairbury, Ill.; three sisters, Eveline Curnel of Salem, Shirley Dalton of Tolu and Dorothy Guill of Marion; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Rosa Sisco; two brothers and a grandson, Cody Paris.

Services were held March 5 at Boyd Funeral Chapel with Rev. John East officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.

Teer
James E. Teer, 80, formerly of Marion, passed away at his home in Dayton, Ohio March 5, 2000. He was a retired pipe insulator.

Teer served in World War II as a tail gunner in an Army Air Force Unit, based in the Panama Canal Zone.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Teer of Dayton; a son, James E. Teer, Jr., of Las Vegas, Nev.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; four sisters, Birdie Farmer, Helen Cullen and Betty Tabor, all of Marion and Katherine Fowler of Moorpark, Calif.; and three brothers, Tom Teer of Marion, Forrest Teer of Robards and Glenn Teer of Flint, Mich.

Teer was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Gussie Teer and a brother, R.C. Teer.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 9 at Fairview Baptist Church in Dayton. Burial will follow at Granny Thomas Cemetery in Greenup County, Ky.

Conyer
Mary Alice Young Conyer, 91, of Marion, passed away March 5, 2000 at Barren County Health Care Center in Glasgow.

Conyer spent 42 years as a teacher in Crittenden County. Affectionately referred to as Miss Mary, she spent her teaching years at Fairview, Lily Dale, Crayne, Mexico, Hebron and Marion Elementary.

She was a member of Union Baptist Church, the Retired Teacher's Association, Delta Kappa Gamma and a 60-year member of Marion Chapter 135 Order of the Eastern Star. Conyer was a former member of Crooked Creek Homemakers.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Conyer Rascoe of Bowling Green and Carolynn Conyer Wosoba of Louisville; four grandchildren; and three nieces.

Conyer was preceded in death by her husband, Lal Conyer.

Funeral services were held March 8 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. A.C. Hodge officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Union Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.

Harris
Carolyn Harris, 63, of Kuttawa, passed away Feb. 29, 2000 at her home.

Harris was a retired insurance agent of R.G. Harris Insurance Company, a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, a Lyon County Homemaker and a member of the Lyon-Caldwell Gideon's Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert Harris; two daughters, Susan Brown of Paducah and Lea Bozarth of Ledbetter; her mother, Mary Louise Cassidy Bennett of Eddyville; three brothers, Jim Bennett, Rex Bennett and Clifton "Tennie" Bennett, all of Lyon County; two sisters, Barbara Padgett of Lyon County and Ann Dorroh of Central City; three granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held March 2 at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. Rodney Wallace and Rev. Ted Yates officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Lyon County.

Wardlaw
Ruth Galia Wardlaw, 89, of Marion, passed away March 5, 2000 at Salem Springlake Care Center.

She was a member of Marion United Methodist Church.

Wardlaw is survived by a daughter, Casey Winstead of Madisonville; three sons, John Wardlaw, Pat Wardlaw and Mike "Bud" Wardlaw, all of Marion; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oran Wardlaw.

Services were held March 8 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Spurrier and Sister Lucy Tedrick officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.

O'Bryan
Owen O'Bryan, 82, of Grand Rivers, passed away March 4, 2000 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

O'Bryan was retired from Airco-Carbide in Calvert City as a maintenance worker. He was a member of Grand Rivers United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia Pearl Stafford O'Bryan; a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Marilyn O'Bryan of Grand Rivers; a daughter and son-in-law, Deloris and Charles Martin of Grand Rivers; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Henry O'Bryan of Grand Rivers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Alice O'Bryan; and a brother, Otis O'Bryan.

Services were held March 7 at Grand Rivers United Methodist Church in Grand Rivers with Rev. Gerald Gaddis officiating. Burial was in Dixon Cemetery in Grand Rivers.

Cloyd
Funeral services for Billy Cloyd, 74, of Eddyville, will be held March 11 at Geisen Funeral Home in Merrillville, Ind. Burial will be in Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Visitation was held at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville March 8.

Cloyd passed away March 6, 2000 at his home.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Elizabeth Wring Cloyd; two sons, Billy Lee Cloyd of Portage and Michael Lewis Cloyd of Florida; three daughters, Marilyn Ann Buczkowski of Chesterton, Ind., Susan Gail Simko of Clearwater, Fla., Bobbie Jo Nestorovich of Valparaiso, Ind.; 22 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers; a sister; and several nieces and nephews.
