Kentucky Marriage Records by County

Oglesby

MORGANFIELD, Ky. - Nadine Oglesby, 90, passed away Jan. 4, 2005 at Methodist Hospital Union County.

Oglesby was a member of the Morganfield First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Nelda Freer of Morganfield and Shirley O'Neal of Newburgh, Ind.; a son, Noble Oglesby of Henderson; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Oglesby in 1985.

Funeral services were Jan. 6 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield with Bro. Sam Belo officiating.

Burial was in the Pride Bordley Cemetery in Union County.

Damron

OAKLAWN, Ill. - Arlene "Sissy" Damron, 70, formerly of Marion, passed away Dec. 29, 2004 at her home.

Funeral services were Jan. 2, 2005 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Bill Baker officiated.

Burial was in Lola Cemetery.

Surviving are a sister, Peggy Bryant of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents were Taylor and Irene Damron.

Cox

Martha K. Cox, 70, of Marion, formerly of Cedar Lake, Ind., passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002 at Crittenden Hospital.

She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Cedar Lake.

Survivors include her son, Philip G. Cox of Cedar Lake; two brothers, Jerry Gilland of Marion and Thomas Gilland of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two sisters, Linnie Holloman and Mary Jones, both of Marion; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Her parents were Thomas and Vancie Gilland.

Funeral services were Sunday, Dec. 15 at Gilbert Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial in Mapleview Cemetery.

Walker

Ru James Walker, 84, of Truth or Consequences, N.M., formerly of Livingston County, passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M.

Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Marie Quertermous Walker of Truth or Consequences, N.M.; daughters, Neva Mae Walker of Truth or Consequences, N.M., and Rose Ella Walker of Albuquerque, N.M.; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and one niece.

He was preceded in death by a brother. His parents were Howard V. and Iva Clemens Walker.

Services were Thursday, Dec. 12 at Boyd Funeral Chapel in Salem with the Rev. David LeNeave officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.

Sunderland

Glenn Sunderland, 65, of Salem, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2002 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

He retired as a project manager after 24 years with Jarvis B. Webb Company.

Survivors include four sisters, Lela Lester and Wilma Hombirg, both of Salem, and Charlene Sunderland and Edna Edmiston, both of Paducah; three brothers, Carmon Sunderland of Salem, James Sunderland of West Paducah and John C. Sunderland of Henderson; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents were Charles W. and Lottie Myrick Sunderland.

Services were Monday, Dec. 16 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with Sister Lucy Tedrick and the Rev. Wayne Carter officiating. Burial in Bethel Cemetery.

Robinson

Robert "Bob" Robinson, 74, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002 at Crittenden Hospital.

Mr. Robinson retired from the U.S. Army after more than 24 years as a staff sergeant.

He later served as a Crittenden County school bus driver.

He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Robinson, and several nieces and nephews.

His parents were Addie and Marie Robinson.

Funeral service was Saturday, Dec. 7 at Gilbert Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Full military rites were given during burial in Mapleview Cemetery.

Walker

Ru James Walker, 84, of Truth or Consequences, N.M., formerly of Livingston County, passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M.

Services are Thursday (today), Dec. 12 at Boyd Funeral Chapel in Salem with the Rev. David LeNeave officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.

Vaughan

Bruce Vaughan, 83, of Phelan, Calif., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002.

Born and raised in Crittenden County, his family relocated to Indiana in 1937. A veteran of World War II, he was a prisoner of war in Germany for 16 months. He retired from the Air Force.

He is survived by a son, Dennis Vaughan, of Haltom City, Texas; sisters, Allie Feller of Stuart, Fla., and Martha Patmor of Marion; brothers, Kelly Vaughan of Kansas City, Mo., and Gavin Vaughan of Alvin, Texas.

His parents were Harry and Eva Vaughan.

Voss

John "Jack" Voss, 65, of Marion, passed away Saturday, Dec. 7. 2002 at Crittenden Hospital.

The former owner of Voss Farm Equipment in Marion, Mr. Voss attended St. John's Episcopal Church in Morganfield, was an honorary member of Marion Lion's Club and was a scout master.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Voss of Marion; daughters, Michelle Minton of Marion and Allison Shepherd of Elizabethtown; stepdaughters, Melissa Sherfinski of Bowling Green and Bethany Sherfinski of Ludington, Mich.; and one grandson.

His parents were Bill and Mary Agnes Voss.

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10 at Gilbert Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Oakley officiating. Burial in Mapleview Cemetery.

Stroud

Marie Stroud, 90, of Salem, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002 at Crittenden Hospital.

She was a member of Cave Springs Missionary Baptist Church, and a 58-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit No. 217 in Burna.

She is survived by two grandsons, William S. Wheeler of Marion and Steven Wheeler of Ledbetter.

Her parents were Owen and Pearl Doctorman Bragdon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Stroud; daughter, Billie Sue Tyner; a brother and three sisters.

Services were Sunday, Dec. 8 at Boyd Funeral Chapel in Salem with the Rev. Roger Holloman officiating. Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of the purchase of memorial Bibles from the Gideon Memorial Bible Chairman, P.O. Box 304, Salem, KY 42078.
