Lossie Marie Hall
Lossie Marie Hall, 82, of Betsy Layne, formerly of Weeksbury, died Saturday, August 17, 2002, following an extended illness.
Born July 14, 1920, in Weeksbury, she was the daughter of Lish Little and Flora Click Little.
She was a homemaker and a member of Joppa Old Regular Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ishmal Hall, one son, Delmas Hall, and one daughter, Carol Endicott.
Survivors include one son, Edward B. Hall, of Ransom; three daughters, Shirley Paige, of Pike County; Sheila Dolan, of Columbus, Ohio; and Sandra Stambaugh, of Prestonsburg; three brothers, Claude Little, and Jessie Little, both of Weeksbury, and Merle Little, of Prestonsburg; four sisters, Mary Ann Ridont, of Columbus, Ohio, Peggy Holbrook, of Melvin, Rena Mae Taylor, of Neon, and Patsy Branham, of Weeksbury; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, August 19, at noon, at the Joppa Old Regular Baptist Church, with Old Regular Baptist Church clergy officiating.
Burial was in the Little Family Cemetery, Weeksbury, under the direction of the Nelson- Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.
Visitation was at the church.

Willie Golden Wilburn
Willie Golden Wilburn, 89, of Toler Creek Road, Harold, died on Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at his residence.
Born March 22, 1913, at Harold, he was the son of the late Finley and Mertie Sturgill Wilburn. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Hamilton Wilburn; one daughter, Jewelle Lolems; and, one brother, Clifford Wilburn.
Survivors include one son, Phil Wilburn, of Louisa; one daughter, Trilba Jean Keathley, of Harold; three sisters, Norma Conn, Erma Damron and Rhoda Belle King, all of Harold; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 17, at 1:00 p.m., at Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Elders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating.
Burial was in Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel, under the direction of Hall Funeral Home.

Mitchell H. Lawson
Mitchell H. Lawson, 31, of Dana, died Sunday, August 18, 2002, at the Prestonsburg Health Care Center, following an extended illness.
Born on August 24, 1970, in Marietta, Georgia, he was the son of Ed and Sandi Fife
Lawson. He was a disabled factory worker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Survivors include one daughter, Hailey Ann Lawson, of Westland, Michigan; paternal grandmother, Elsie Lawson, of Drift; one brother, Robert, of Marietta, Georgia; and one sister, Sherry, of Jacksonville, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Willie D. Lawson, and his maternal grandparents, Charles and Nannie Fife.
Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, August 21, at 11:00 a.m., at the Drift Pentecostal Church, at Drift, with Ted Shannon officiating, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.

Arnold Freeman
Arnold Freeman, 60, of Bardstown, a native of Prestonsburg, died Wednesday, August 14, 2002, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Freeman of Bardstown.
Other survivors include two sons, Charlie and Aubert Freeman, both of Mt. Washington; two daughters, Johnnie Karr of Bloomfield, and Dawn Murley of Bardstown; one brother, Henry Sizemore of Findlay, Ohio; four sisters, Billie Smith, Naomi Shepherd and Nyoka Decker, all of Findlay, Ohio, and Nora Bales of Florence; 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 19, 11 a.m., at Schmid Funeral Home, Mt. Washington.
Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, Mt. Washington.
Visitation is Sunday from 12 noon to 8 p.m.

Hi Morgan Bradford
Hi Morgan Bradford, 64, of Grace Village, Winona Lake, Indiana, died Saturday, August 10, 2002, at the Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana.
Born December 17, 1937, in Prestonsburg, he was the son of the late Johnny and Ann Prater Bradford. He had been a resident of Kosciusko County since 1995. He was an electrician, and a member of the Warsaw First Brethren Church, Warsaw, Indiana.
Survivors include four sons, Larry Edward Bradford of Centerville, Tennessee, Gregory Bradford of Bourbon, Indiana, Charles Kevin Bradford of Bradington, Florida, and Anthony T. Bradford of Marion, Indiana; four brothers, Grover C. Bradford, Marvin Ray Bradford, and Ronald Bradford, all of Prestonsburg; and Fairly Bradford of Roanne, Indiana; and three sisters, Maxine Rose and Limosine Willis, both of Prestonsburg and Jewell Hall, of Lebanon, Tennessee; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, August 13, at 11 a.m., at the McHatton Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Indiana, with Pastor Bill Shipman officiating.
Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana.
Memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, 7363 E. 21st St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46219.

Mamie Newman
Mamie Newman, age 87, of Prestonsburg, widow of Wayne L. Newman, passed away, Sunday, August 11, 2002, at Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg.
She was born March 9, 1915, in Hi Hat, the daughter of the late Willard Caudill and Minda Brown Caudill. She was a homemaker and a member of the Clear Creek United Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Clyde “Bud” Newman, and his wife, Ella Sue Newman of Prestonsburg; one daughter, Bonnie Boal, and her husband, Harry, of Centerville, Ohio; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 14, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with United Baptist ministers officiating.
Burial will follow in the Boyd Cemetery, at Hi Hat, under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin.
Visitation is at the funeral home

Ernest Powell Clay
Ernest Powell Clay, went to be with the Lord on August 11, 2002, following an extended illness.
He was born June 17, 1928, in Allen, the son of the late John Beverly Clay and Gertrude Cheek Clay.
He had resided in Gallipolis, Ohio, for 40 years. He served in the Army during the Korean War; retired from Equifax Insurance Investigating, and was a member of the French City Baptist Church in Gallipolis, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Wanda Crisp Clay. He has one daughter, Beverly Clay-Rothgeb of Gallipolis, Ohio; one brother, Howard Clay of Allen; numerous brothers-and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, April 14, at the Martin Cemetery, Allen, with Clergyman Bobby Osborne officiating.
Visitation is from 11:30 to 12:30 Wednesday at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin.

Grethel Newsome Mullins
Grethel Newsome Mullins, 80, of Melvin, died Tuesday, August 6, 2002, at her residence, following an extended illness.
Born October 24, 1921, in Pound, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Tavis Dove and Vangie McCray Newsome. She was a retired postal worker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Mullins.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Mullins of Melvin; three daughters, Gloria Jean Mosley (Gene) of Winchester; Gwendolyn Lafferty (Martin) of Shelbyville, Tennessee; and Glenna Gail Reynolds of Pippa Passes; two brothers, Ballard Newsome of Winchester, and Raymond Newsome of Clearwater, Florida; one sister, Grace Branham of Bypro; eight grandchildren; five great-grandsons; a sister-in-law, Grace Newman, and a special friend, Viola Stewart.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Newsome and Millard Newsome.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, August 8, at 2:30 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with John Burke and Orville Burke officiating.
Burial was in the Davidson Memorial Gardens at Ivel, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
Visitation was at the funeral home.
