Natacha Jean Lackey
Natacha Jean Lackey, daughter of Carl Edward Lackey Jr. and Loretta Allen Perkins of Prestonsburg, was stillborn Saturday, December 2, 2000, at Highlands Regional Medical Center.
Survivors, other than her parents, include her paternal grandparents, Carl Lackey of Lexington, and Aileen Slone Blair of Banner; maternal grandparents, Hatton Allen of Allen, and Dorothy Fletcher Allen of Allen; two brothers, Brandon Perkins and Tony Fletcher, both of Salyersville; two sisters, Latacha Perkins and Daniell Perkins, both of Salyersville.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, December 5, at 1 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with Rev. Jackson and Demp Allen officiating.
Burial was in the Webb Cemetery, at Banner, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.

Shawna Lee Johnson
Shawna Lee Johnson, 22, of Hi Hat, died Sunday, December 3, 2000, on Ky. Rt. 122, Bevinsville, following an automobile accident.
Born on March 6, 1978, in Pikeville, she was the daughter of Marlene Collins Johnson of McDowell, and the late Elmer Lee Johnson.
Survivors, other than her mother, include one son, Brian O’Neil Manns Jr. of Hi Hat; one daughter, Marley Reid Collins of Hi Hat; two brothers, Elmer Lee Johnson Jr. (J.J.) of Wheelwright, Timothy Neil Johnson of Weeksbury; and one sister Crystal Lea Johnson of Weeksbury; maternal grandparents, Addison and Cora Hall Collins of Bypro; paternal grandmother, Mary White Johnson of Hi Hat; step mother, Sue Ellen Johnson of Weeksbury; step-father, buddy Johnson of McDowell.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 6, at noon, at the Wheelwright Freewill Baptist Church at Bypro, with Rev. Louis Ferrari officiating.
Burial will be in the Buckingham Cemetery, Bevinsville, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.

Tim Mullins
Tim Mullins, 55, of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of McDowell, died Tuesday, November 28, 2000, at University Hospital in Las Vegas, following an extended illness.
Born on January 28, 1945, in Knott County, he was the son of the late Jim Mullins and Nova Slone Mullins. He was a certified welder and a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include one daughter, Candina Phillips of Clearfield; five brothers, Selton Mullins of Purcell, Oklahoma, Harry Mullins of McDowell, James Mullins of Indianapolis, Indiana, Mass Mullins of Greenville, Indiana, Alger Mullins of Columbus, Georgia; and one grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, December 4, at 10 a.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with Paul Grainger and Ted Shannon officiating.
Burial was in the Stumbo Cemetery, at Minnie, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.

Virginia Mae DeBord
Virginia Mae DeBord, 77, of Ivel, died Sunday, December 3, 2000, at Mt. Manor Nursing Home, Prestonsburg, following an extended illness.
Born on August 5, 1923, in Mingo County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Pearl M. Thompson Hall. She was a member of the Southern Calvary Baptist Church at Betsy Layne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph DeBord.
Survivors include one son, Ralph DeBord of Allen; one daughter, Ernestine DeBord of Ivel; one sister, Mary C. Shepherd of Christiansburg, Virginia; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 6, at 1 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with Rev. George Love officiating.
Burial will be in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.

Minerva H. Cooley
Minerva H. Cooley, died Sunday, December 3, 2000, at the Highlands Regional Medical Center, in Prestonsburg.
She was the daughter of the late Walter and Julia Howard Holbrook. She was a retired school teacher and librarian with the Floyd County schools, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Prestonsburg, where she was a Sunday School teacher and training union instructor.
She was also a member of the Floyd County Retired Teacher’s Association, Kentucky Education Association, National Teacher’s Association, Kiwaniannes, and a 1997-98 Floyd-Pike Counties Women Bowling Association Hall of Fame inductee.
Her husband, William R. Cooley, preceded her in death.
Survivors include one brother, Woody Holbrook of Ironton, Ohio.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 6, at 11 a.m., at the First Baptist Church, Prestonsburg, with Rev. Randy Polk officiating.
Burial will be in the Holbrook Family Cemetery at Middle Creek near Prestonsburg, under the direction of Floyd Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers are David Cooley, Ronald Cooley, Caleb Cooley, Hansel Cooley, Larry Howell, Gary Holbrook, Wayne Brown, Kenneth Brown, Rodney Holbrook and James Elkins.
Honorary pallbearers are Orville Cooley, Vincel Cooley, Mike Vance, Billy Ray Collins, Tom O. McGuire, Johnny Burke, Charles Butcher and James William Cooley.

Johnny Mullins Jr.
Johnny Mullins Jr., 52, of Garrett, died Friday, December 1, 2000, at Our Lady of the Way Hospital in Martin, following an extended illness.
He was born August 22, 1948, in Floyd County, a son of Johnny Mullins of Eastern and Isabell Collins Mullins of Garrett. He was a disabled driller and a member of the Martin Branch Freewill Baptist Church at Estill.
He is survived by a daughter, Hope Diannia Mullins of Crystal Lake, Illinois; a brother, Joseph (Jody) Mullins of Hueysville; five sisters, Linda Chaffins, Margie Chaffins, and Jemima Ann Thomas, all of Garrett, Betty Dempsey of Hueysville, and Marie Gilbert of London; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 4, at 11 a.m. at the Hueysville Church of Christ, with Clinton Buddy Jones and Chester Varney officiating. Burial will follow in the Castle Cemetery at Hueysville.
Visitation is at the Hueysville Church of Christ. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Frazier Funeral Home of Martin.

Rebecca Jane Shepherd
Rebecca Jane Shepherd, 76, of Greenwich, Ohio, died Wednesday, November 29, 2000, at Norwalk Memorial Home after a lengthy illness.
Born on September 2, 1924, in Garrett, she was the daughter of the late Jessie James and Jennie Bell Shepherd Hale. She had lived most of her life in Greenwich.
Her husband, Sage Shepherd, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Sheila Pope of Homerville, Mary Wheeler of North Fairchild, Jennie Sweeting of Shelby; three sons, James Shepherd of Ashland, Robert Shepherd of Willard, Warnie Ray Shepherd of North Fairfield; one sister, Lanie Gibson of Kentucky; a stepsister Myrtle; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 1, at 2 p.m., at Eastern Funeral Home, Greenwich, Ohio, with Elders Arthur J. Hale and Bill King officiating.
Burial will be in the Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Eastman Funeral Home.

Victoria Johnson
Victoria Johnson, 89 of Edgarton, West Virginia, died Wednesday, November 29, 2000, at the South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born on March 14, 1911, in McCarr, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Elizabeth Blackburn Gooslin. She was of the Protestant faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Johnson.
She is survived by four sons, Robert “Bobby” Johnson of Corunna, Michigan, Perry Johnson of Bean Station Tennessee, Lloyd Johnson of Prestonsburg, and Jackie Johnson of Pikeville; three daughters, Jeanette Mayall of Durand, Michigan, Ruby Hardin of Surgoinsville, Tennessee, and Elizabeth Brown of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Leonard Gooslin of Hurley, Virginia and Charlie Gooslin of Beckley, West Virginia; one sister, Alice Williams of Newtown, West Virginia; 27 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, December 2, at 11 a.m., at the Freeburn Church of God with Rev. Gary Fields, Rev. Eugene Ratliff, and Rev. Dewitt Furrow officiating.
Burial was in the Billy Dotson Cemetery at Phelps, under the direction of R.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, Phelps.

Ann Ford
Ann Ford, 80, of Prestonsburg, died Tuesday, November 28, 2000, at the Highlands Regional Medical Center.
Born on November 25, 1920, at Prestonsburg, she was the daughter of the late Milt and Josephine Adams Stanley. She was a retired dental technician at the Pal-Mar Dental Lab, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Prestonsburg.
Her husband, J.B. Ford, preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Jane Verley of Prestonsburg; one sister, Ida Layne of Rochester, Indiana; one grandchild and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 1, at 1 p.m., at the Floyd Funeral Home Chapel, Prestonsburg, with the Rev. Vernon Slone and Rev. George Love officiating.
Burial will be in the Porter Cemetery at Prestonsburg, under the direction of Floyd Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Scot Verley, Kenneth F. Allen and Gene Kendrick.
