Kentucky Marriage Records by County

Clinetta Jackson

Clinetta Jackson, 52, of Kettering, Ohio, formerly of Wheelwright, died Monday, August 7, 2000, at her residence.

Born on January 25, 1948, in Wheelwright, she was the daughter of John H. Jackson and Ella Jackson. She was employed at General Motors in Kettering, Ohio. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church of Wheelwright.

Survivors include one son, Todd Jackson of Kettering, Ohio; one brother, Kenneth Jackson; one sister, Vanessa Kyle; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, August 12, at noon, at the Friendship Baptist Church in Wheelwright, with Rev. Eldridge Terry officiating.

Interment was in Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel, under the direction of R.S. Jones and Son Funeral Home, Virgie.

Harry "Black Jack" Bentley

Harry "Black Jack" Bentley, 76, of Allen, died Thursday, August 10, 2000, at Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg, following an extended illness.

Born on March 8, 1924, in Floyd County, he was the son of the late John Gilbert and Molly Collinsworth Bentley. He was a self-employed truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane DeRossett Bentley.

Survivors include three sons, Harry Eugene Bentley, Danny Lee Bentley, and Donald Ray Bentley, all of Allen; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 13, at 1 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, with Randolph Crisp officiating.

Burial will be in the DeRossett Cemetery, Ice Plant Hollow, Martin, under the direction of the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.

Maxie Patton

Maxie Patton, 76, of Hueysville, died Wednesday, August 9, 2000, at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, following an extended illness.

Born on March 11, 1924, in Floyd County, she was the daughter of the late Clell and Rachel Manns Dye. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Hueysville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Patton.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry Patton, Bruce Patton, and Clell Patton all of Hueysville; three half-sisters, Ruby Rush of Ashland, Arlene Dale of Paintsville, Eddy Kirt of Lomansville; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, August 12, at noon, at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, with Church of Christ ministers, and Jerry Manns officiating.

Burial was in the Patton family cemetery, Hueysville, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.

Troy Frasure

Troy Frasure, 88, of Galveston, died Thursday, August 3, 2000, at Mountain Manor Nursing Home, Pikeville, following an extended illness.

Born on July 8, 1912, in Frasures Creek, he was the son of the late Oliver and Roxie Alley Frasure. He was a disabled coal miner and a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Verlie Hamilton Frasure.

Survivors include seven sons, Ed Frasure of Pikeville, Palmer Frasure of Teaberry, Tom Frasure, Glen Frasure, Charles Frasure, Garrett Frasure, all of Galveston, Eddie Frasure of Collinsville, Virginia; one daughter, Geraldine Blankenship of Galveston; three half-brothers, Wade Frasure and Mose Frasure, both of McDowell, and Earl Frasure, of Ohio; one half-sister, Wilma Kiser of Lucasville, Ohio, 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 7, at 1 p.m., at the residence at Galveston, with Tommy Spears and Bennie Blankenship officiating.

Burial will be in the Frasure Family Cemetery, at Galveston, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.

Patricia Sue Blocker

Patricia Sue Blocker, 51, of Weeksbury, died Tuesday, August 8, 2000, at her residence, following an extended illness.

Born on August 24, 1948, in Floyd County, she was the daughter of Gracie Newsome Branham of Bypro, and the late Arthur Collins.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur Blocker.

Other survivors include one son, Michael Shawn Blocker of Weeksbury; one daughter, Kisha Blocker of Weeksbury; three brothers, Terry Branham of Illinois, Emil Collins of Richmond, and Ralph Gilliam.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 11, at 1 p.m., at the Weeksbury Free Pentecostal Church of God, with Jay Patton officiating.

Burial will be in the family cemetery, at Weeksbury, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.

William Fredrick "Bill" Walker Jr.

William Fredrick "Bill" Walker Jr., 62, of Prestonsburg, died Sunday, August 6, 2000, at his residence, following an extended illness.

Born on October 19, 1937, in Ford City, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late William Fredrick Walker Sr. and Irene Bakovisky Walker. He was a retired laborer, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and a graduate of Ashtabula, Ohio High School. He attended Prestonsburg Community College, and was a 1972 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. He was a Kentucky Colonel, and was active in Rights for Disabled Veterans, and was a member of the Saint Martha's Catholic Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Heather M. Conley of Prestonsburg; one brother, Alan Walker of Cleveland, Ohio and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be announced later by Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.

Bobbie Ann Turner Case

Bobbie Ann Turner Case, 65, of McDowell, died Saturday, August 5, 2000, at her residence, following an extended illness.

Born on November 30, 1934, in Floyd County, she was the daughter of the late Dodge and Eva Newsome Turner Moore. She was a member of the Little Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church, at McDowell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clive Case.

Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Lynn Swiger of Eastern, Carol Ann Case of McDowell; four brothers, Donnie Moore of Willard, Ohio, Jackie Moore, Jerry Moore, and Ricky Moore, all of McDowell; five sisters, Patty Ruth Meade, Marsha Robinson, and Deborah Hopkins, all of McDowell, Sharon Martin of Dema, Judy Walters of Winchester; 7 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, August 8, at 11 a.m., at the Little Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church, McDowell, with ministers of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating.

Burial was in the Lucy Hall Cemetery, McDowell, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.

Loueasie Howell Bartley

Loueasie Howell Bartley, 87, of McDowell, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, in the Riverview Manor Nursing Home, Prestonsburg, following an extended illness.

Born on January 23, 1913 in McDowell, she was the daughter of the late John D. Howell and Martha Orsborne Howell. She was a member of the Regular Primitive Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Halbert, and her second husband, Emmanuel Bartley.

She is survived by two daughters, Glessie Stumbo of Prestonsburg, Rosezella Lewis of Okeechobee, Florida; two sons, Dennis Bartley of Prestonsburg, Hillard Halbert of McDowell; four stepsons, Chester Bartley and Jerry Bartley, both of Pikeville, T.J. Bartley of Vinton, Ohio, Ellis Bartley of Lowmansville; two step-daughters, Hazel Kiser of Dayton, Ohio, Maxie Elswick of Pikeville, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, August 1, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with the Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating.

Burial was in the Bartley Cemetery, McDowell, under the direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Martin.

Serving as pallbearers were Dennis Bartley, Johnny Stumbo, Kelly Davis, Anthony Halbert, James Stumbo and Jim Spencer.

John Hall

John Hall, 77, of Lexington, formerly of Allen, died Wednesday, August 2, 2000, at the Veterans Hospital, Lexington, following a brief illness.

Born on July 15 1923, in Hall, he was the son of the late Riley Hall and Florence Hall. He was a U.S. Army, World War II veteran.

He is survived by his wife Verlia M. Hall.

Other survivors include one son, John Hall Jr. of Strasberg, Virginia; two daughters, MaDonna Burchett of Lexington, Etta Cantrell of Paintsville; three brothers, Fred Hall and James Riley Hall, both of Allen, Troy Hall of Somerset; three sisters, Fannie Goble of Allen, Fennie Cresswell of Ashland, Annie Gunnels of Panama City, Florida, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 6, at 1 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home, Martin, with the clergyman, Rick Stone, officiating.

Burial was in the Riley Hall Cemetery, at Allen, under the direction of Hall Funeral Home, Martin.

Serving as pallbearers were James Riley Hall, Larry Glen Hall, Jeff Hall, Eric David Hall, Terry Hall, Mike Hall, Raymond Hall and Ben Thompson.

Honorary pallbearers were George Scott, Charles Luxmore, Daryl Luxmore, John Hall Jr., John Lee Stacy, Alan Halbert, Steve Crabtree, Steven Halbert, Marty Luxmore, Edmund Luxmore, James Adkins, Bryan Luxmore, George Lee Scott, Paul N. Allen, Chuck Tackett, P.D. Motley and John Phillip Samons.
