Kentucky Marriage Records by County

Rodney (Hot Rod) Sexton
Rodney (Hot Rod) Sexton, 33, of Pinetop, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at U.K. Medical Center, Lexington, following an automobile accident.
Born on November 26, 1967, in Hindman, he was the son of Cartis Sexton of Litt Carr and Josie Robinson Blair of Pinetop. He was an unemployed coal miner.
Survivors include two daughters, Kayla Sexton and Heather Sexton, both of Pinetop; one half-brother, C.J. Sexton of Litt Carr; one sister, Louise Sexton of Isom; two half-sisters, Nikki Sexton and Melody Day, both of Litt Carr.
He is also survived by his paternal great-grandmother, Hattie Slone Sexton, of Pinetop.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 5, at 1 p.m., at the Omaha Bible Church, at Pinetop, with Eston Aburgy, L.C. Slone and Lonnie Sexton officiating.
Burial was in the Sexton Cemetery, at Pinetop, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.

Homer Yates Sr.
Homer Yates Sr., 64, of Ecorse, Michigan, formerly of Bevinsville, died Monday, February 26, 2001, at Henry Ford Hospital in Wyandotte, Michigan, following an extended illness.
Born on May 11, 1936, in Weeksbury, he was the son of the late Will and Siltanie Hall Yates. He was a truck driver for Parcel Delivery Company.
He is survived by his wife, Maudie Isaac Yates.
Other survivors include three sons, Johnny Arthur Yates, Kenneth Yates and Homer Yates Jr., all of Michigan; three daughters, Deborah Yates, Iris Ryder and Sharon Coleman, all of Michigan; two brothers, Robert Yates of Martin, Donald Yates of Lockport, Illinois; three sisters, Billie Lou Stegall of Hi Hat, Yvonne Webster of Springfield, Ohio, Hazel Hall of Vickery, Ohio; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 2, at the Martenson Funeral Home, Allen Park, Michigan.

Jay Hall
Jay Hall, 76, of Argas, Indiana, formerly of Pocatello, Idaho and Warsaw, Indiana, died Wednesday, March 1, 2001, at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, Indiana.
Born on July 30, 1924, in Teaberry, he was the son of Wayne and Mary Hall. He was a truck driver at Morgan Drive-Away, Elkhart, Indiana. He was a member of the Early Apostolic Bible Training Center, in Claypool, Indiana. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gilva Newsome.
He is survived by one daughter, Rev. Willa Dean Early of Warsaw, Indiana; three sons, Lucky Hall of Utah, Stoney Lee Hall of Warsaw, Indiana, and Coke Hall of Nevada; two brothers, David Hall of Kansas City, Kansas, Merlin Hall of Fort Wayne, Indiana; three sisters, Lizzie Turner of Peru, Indiana, Olive Hamilton of Teaberry, Sally Ellen Young of Ashland; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 5, at 11 a.m., at the Early Apostolic Bible Training Center, Claypool, Indiana, with Rev. W. Dean Early officiating.
Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana, under direction of McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Indiana.

Richard Gibson
Richard Gibson, 69, of Warsaw, Indiana, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at his residence.
Born on April 21, 1931, in Prestonsburg, he was the son of the late Richard and Aggie Poe Gibson.
He had been a resident of Kosciusko county since 1952 and retired from Dalton Foundries Coremaker in 1983. He was also a United States veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Athne Jean Gibson, of Warsaw, Indiana.
Other survivors include five sisters, Janie Parsley of Indianapolis, Indiana, Betty Zimmerman of Columbia City, Indiana, Dottie Teeter of North Manchester, Indiana, Joyce Arnett of Warsaw, Indiana, Becky Krocke of Laketon, Indiana; three brothers, Sam Gibson of Scottsburg, Indiana, James Gibson and Charlie Gibson, both of Warsaw, Indiana and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 5, at 2 p.m., at the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Indiana, with Chad Burkhart officiating.
Burial will be in the Center Cemetery, Silver Lake, Indiana.
Military/graveside services will be conducted by Warsaw American Legion and VFW.

Edna Elvira Gray
Edna Elvira Gray, 89, of Prestonsburg, died Wednesday, February 28, 2001, at the Highland Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 18, 1911, at Virgie, the daughter of the late Garfield and Cumi “Tackett” Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Gray.
Survivors include three brothers, Ireland Johnson of California, Neville Johnson of Dayton, Ohio, and Bert Johnson of Beaver, Ohio; and one sister, Ester Hinchman of Man, West Virginia.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 2, at 11 a.m., at the Floyd Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Steve Pescosolido officiating.
Burial will be in the Davidson Memorial Gardens at Ivel.

Gilbert F. Storey Sr.
Gilbert F. Storey Sr., 85, of Gray, Tennessee, died Tuesday, February 27, 2001, at his residence, following an extended illness.
Born on March 14, 1915, in Washington County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late William and Callie Storey. He was employed by Eastman for 38 years, was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Kingsport, Tennessee, and a past master of Stinking Creek Masonic Lodge No. 575.
He is survived by his wife, Velma Coates Storey.
Other survivors include two sons, Gilbert F. Storey Jr. of Paintsville, Rick Storey of Gray, Tennessee; two daughters, Polly Storey of Chicago, Illinois, Patty Nedved of Mitchell, South Dakota; one sister, Hazel Deason of Kingsport, Tennessee; six grandchildren and one step-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, March 1, at 8 p.m., at Snyder’s Funeral Home, Gray, Tennessee.
Graveside services will be Friday, March 2, at 10 a.m., at Tri Cities Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Jim Gray and Rev. Mark Kinsley officiating.

Mexie C. Bates
Mexie C. Bates, 82, of Printer, died Tuesday, February 27, 2001, at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, following a brief illness.
She was born May 8, 1918, in Louisa, the daughter of the late Harry Cox and Merle McCown Cox. She was a member of the Drift Pentecostal Church, and attended the Quicksand Pentecostal Church, at Hueysville.
Her husband, Jake Bates, preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Jake Bates Jr., of Printer; three daughters, Dorothy B. Coon of Scott, New York, Lois Foux of Berkshire, New York, Peggy Burke of Pataskala, Ohio; one half-sister, Edith George of Martin; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with the clergymen, Roger Bolen and Ted Shannon, officiating.
Serving as pallbearers for the funeral of Mexie C. Bates were Bill Reffitt, Johnny Pack, Greg Stumbo, Micheal Burke, Ricky Prater, Keith Hayes, Sam Green and Paul Linkswilder.
Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Akers, Oakie Sheperd, Earl Miller, Ondie Wireman, Harold Smith, Malcolm Coon, Willie Martin and Lewis Sandlin.
Burial will be in the Bates Family Cemetery, at Printer.

Monroe Jarvis
Monroe Jarvis, 60, of Martin, died Wednesday, February 28, 2001, at Riverview Manor Nursing Home, Prestonsburg, following an extended illness.
Born on May 31, 1940, in Endicott, he was the son of the late Edgar G. Jarvis and Nellie Endicott Jarvis Dale. He was a retired factory worker.
Survivors include five sons, Jerry L. Jarvis of Ivel, Monie Lee Jarvis of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Joshua Glenn Jarvis, Monroe Jarvis Jr., and Arlin Jarvis, all of Endicott; one daughter, Marcia Nelson of Bucklake, Michigan; six brothers, Luther Jarvis of Racoon, Easu Jarvis of Prestonsburg, Jacob Jarvis of Banner, Edgar Jarvis of Tram, Douglas Jarvis of Paintsville, Herman Jarvis of Ypsilanti, Michigan; three sisters, Francis Vanover of Stanville, Alice Graves of Tennessee, Sondra Justice of Betsy Layne; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with Birkey Lewis and George David Garrett officiating.
Burial will be in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel.
